The Chevrolet K5 Blazer is a full-size sport-utility vehicle that was built by General Motors. GM's smallest full-size SUV, it is part of the Chevrolet C/K truck family. Introduced to the Chevrolet line for the 1969 model year, the K5 Blazer was replaced for 1995 by the Chevrolet Tahoe. The third generation was simply called "Chevrolet Blazer", without the K5 name. In 1970, GMC introduced its own model of the truck, called the Jimmy, which was discontinued in 1991 and replaced by the Yukon. The "Jimmy" name was chosen to reflect how GM may sound in a similar manner to how Jeep was thought to be a pronunciation of GP in the competing market.[citation needed] Both were short-wheelbase trucks and available with either rear- or four-wheel drive.
The K5 Blazer and Jimmy had "full convertible" removable tops until 1975. For 1976, GM introduced a half-cab design that was less prone to leaks and slightly safer in a roll-over. These half cabs had the convertible top begin a few inches behind the driver/passenger doors and run back to the tailgate.
The Blazer's long-wheelbase relative, with an integrated rear body and doors for second row passengers, is called the Chevrolet Suburban.

For the 32's, is that stock suspension? Build looks amazing!
I had a 1961 coupe DeVille in highschool . I really miss that car , it floated down the road .
We both hate seat belts. This video is hilarious. Proves the fossil fuel industry has a vice grip around our necks.
Awesome
That looks SO good!! Thats one i couldn't get rid of
do u still do tanks
63 and 64 SS sweet
That was good hard working truck I still believe in them
MAPul syrup? ... 😂
I had one of these except it was a Road Runner with a 440-4 Speed. Same color and pretty well identical to this one except mine had the factory tachometer. Loved the car.
Not " Satellite GTX" just GTX. Same body style but seperate model. Like Roadrunner.
I had to do this once in 2020. Long story short. My engine kept leaking oil. I was broke. My friend sent me 5 bucks for gas and I didn't have any money to buy even one quart. What I did, I grabbed old lard and put it in there. It ran for 1 month, no problems. I finally fixed it 2 months later and the mechanic commented that it smelled like "bacon"
I remember a guy tested it using bacon grease, and the result was quiet amazing compated to regular oil within lubcrication terms!
What a great job you did Looks really good. I owned a new one in 1985 with a 6.2 diesel.
I need to see the long range test. It is far higher temperature oil than any motor oil that I can find and it seems to run just fine. Test inl it blows. We need to the er test
In Indonesia we also use cooking oil instead of engine oil 😂
Sometimes I want a c10 but dang them blazers are 🔥🔥🔥
You wheels are four lug, pinto, vega not anything bigger they're five lug and your half ton 57 is six
Fit a valve stem to a spark plug and use compressed air.
Just beautiful I almost finish my 86 is going to be same level as yours just different color silver and white combination I also take off some aluminum wheels they got when I bought and put this awesome rally wheels take me like 3years to restore and tons of money but I think it’s worth every single dollar I invested I like broncos to but I think k5 blazers are the more beautiful off road vehicles ever made,a really pride for General Motors.
Yeah Canola Oil is literally recycled wartime engine lubricant so….I mean
Your paint came out beautifully !!!!
I just got a 85 blazer, so any blazer content truly helps me a lot , great content , thanks Americana !!!!
Boy does that bring back memories! Made a pro street out of my 57, bought it back in 1992. Yes in 2024 She's still in garage out back. Nice find guys!!
In Indonesia we do this very often, including me who has been doing this for almost 12 years, and there have been no significant problems with my car.
Would you like virgin extra virgin or regular?
Where did you get all of your parts?
Love this K5 - nice job all round. Where can I get a new sill plate that runs across the rear cargo area? LMC doesn't have them for the '87 K5.
Ebay got it for around 140
@@raulmendez7842 Found it - thank you.
I have the same truck. I'm thinking i might shorten the frame. Should I?
KO originals are much better looking
Your what us actual biker's call a massive "Bellend" 😂
I have a 327 350 horse for speed engine and trance, less carburetor and air cleaner would you consider selling it you can have that engine and trance out of it. I have one for it like I said 350 327 or I buy it the way it is thank you
I have a 327 350 horse for speed engine and trance, less carburetor and air cleaner
Us old guys always used grease because it was handy in the shop. You younger guys just happen to have a loaf of poisonous white bread nearby. It seems they both work. Us older guys would use a steel shaft or wood dowel that fit the hole snug so the grease didn't ooze out around it. And it only took one solid hit with the hammer and the bushing was on the stick. But whatever works I guess. You could always pack your wheel bearings with the leftover bread. Just make sure you wash your hands thoroughly to get that genetically modified wheat off your hands so your fingers don't fall off. Man just imagine taking your gloves off one day and your fingers are still in the glove. It is hard to imagine how us older guys ever lived long enough to produce you younger guys. We were way too stupid to be aware of all the dangerous things in the world that were just lurking around waiting to hurt us. Art from Ohio PS: My Uncle had a unique way of describing younger people. He said, "Your Daddy squirted the best part of you on the curtain." This probably doesn't apply to you though so don't be offended because my uncle never met you.
Wow! I can't find words. Art from Ohio PS: What would it take to buy that????
How much do you charge for this
I am an old man and I want to thank you Sonny for respecting that old truck. That old truck served it's previous owners well but they did not give it what it deserved. Then you came along owing that truck nothing and you gave it what it rightfully deserved. On behalf of all things old I thank you and salute you my young friend. If old trucks could talk I think you know what this one would say to you. I am very proud to subscribe to your channel. Art from Ohio
Try a thicker oil. Idk maybe corn oil
Not a bad idea lol. Unfortunately this motor blew up the next day 😂
Cos of the olive oil?? @@Americana777
I'm Looking for a 65 vert....
Wish i had one for ya! This one went to Houston.
Truck came out awesome. I come back as inspiration for my ‘86 Jimmy lol. Where did you source replacement side windows on the topper? I need some for mine too and can’t find any besides whole toppers on marketplace.
We had the windows to go back in. Good luck with your jimmy!
Also look for a cataletic converter.
I thought the 1979 honda accord engine had a precombustion chamber. They did this for lean burn.
One hell of a job and really enjoyed the videos...KUDO's Brother!!!
Great trucks and nice job on this resto. Proud owner of a 1990 K5 Blazer.
Swap in pertronix and 10si12v. Alt you got a winner😅😅
The 61 Cadillac Fleetwood looks like a limousine........is it ?
It is technically not the limo model, the stretch model is slightly longer. Just fully loaded sedan here. Thanks for watching!
I just finished putting a Weber on my 1980 accord about an hour ago. Just need to connect the fuel line.
They run great! Love it!
I would bathe in this lol
I would add prolong and it would be fine.
That’s pretty tuff
Thanks for watching!
Nice, I never thought bread was so strong! 😂
Right! Thanks for watching
Big question is the Honda accord the same engine as the civic ? Cause I need some new head bolt cause I got my block re surfaced
I would assume yes, but i cannot give a definite answer, thanks for watching
