The 200 can be good too but at the heart of the brewery you have a management set in their ways. Tenants are not supported past the initial induction with increased wet sales punished by increased rent. Prices of beer match London pub tariffs. Present head brewer is unimaginative, trading off the flagship Tally Ho! in which he had no hand other than bringing ABV from 4.7% to 5.5%. Irregular seasonal beers are generally IPA style mid-brown efforts in the 3.5 - 4.5% range. Stout? Mild? Spiced? Adjuncts other than hops? No chance. Even though brewers who have been in the business 200 years less are winning applause for inventive beers, tired old Palmers trudge along with the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mantra. Could do better. A lot better.
