Music is to loud by for my taste. If it lowers by 50-60% then I would be able to watch this series.
Yeah something I finally noticed after a while. My audience are bad at not telling me when something is bad audio wise so I don't always know if something got out of balance. I do lower the volume later in the series but it is not something I can fix after a live stream when working with Twitch's VODs. And I have no real means right now to record all this with split audio I can tweak and hang onto years of VODs. Sorry the audio was all messy. I am forever needing to re-test audio lately.
Nice game 👍
Yeah I have a lot of fun with this. Just a chill feeling building and management game with very low stakes.

Mystery = Mister E. from LW s1
The Pact took about 90% KIA in HoT, so, the role of the Pact was rather limited until LW s4 ep 4 where a lot of the Awakened joined the pact, which is the reason the Pact had a role in ep. 5 and 6. Flame Legion got their powers from the Titans originally and had nothing to do with Primordus. The Sons of Svanir pretty much died along with Jormag. Southsun is now a vacation resort and has been since LW s1 as the Karka has canonically been driven back.
See, this is why I regret missing so much early stuff that could give me better context for how the world looks now. There is the thing with an MMO where you resolve a threat from a faction but if you go back to old maps they, of course, have to be there as enemies still to give people content to play with and makes it difficult when you race through like I did to sit back and take in the whole picture. It is cool, though, they added in some of the major story encounters from S1 again. I play them after I am done with the Gyala Delve story stuff so those will be coming out on the channel in due time once I sift through them.
I'm so glad that the Asuran delegate in JW is someone OTHER than Blunt because if I had to deal with him an entire year I would rage out.
Hahaha he is exhausting, isn't he?
@@imironwolf Massively. The most annoying character ever put into the game.
Kralk never went insane because he consumed magic. He went crazy because of the nature of the magic that he consumed. As I said, humans and their gods are aliens. By consuming Balthazar and the Domains of Grenth, Melandru, and Balthazar he got the mother of all indigestions and went insane because he was unable to fitrate the magic. Aurene can since she's of a purer quality crystal so, she have no negative consequences from absorbing that magic.
There used to be a segment before you talked to your allies where you were in the Command Core with The Speakers and The Brotherhood. The commander goes, "Well, now that you've worked together you're friends," and Choo-Mul tells Tetra that there's no way they'll be friends and that they only worked together to save the world and the moment they leave Arborstone they're back to being enemies. Tetra agrees and both groups leave. A poignant reminder that there can never be peace with Fascistic ideology. I think it was removed because of strongly implied politics.
Interesting, and a shame it was removed but if it struck the wrong note with people then so be it I guess.
@@imironwolf I'm really glad that I played through the story at release and saw this interaction myself.
The "I don't want to die" is in direct contrast to Kralkatorrik who assured us that Elder Dragons are "not afraid of death."
That's a good point. It had been a long while since I played the end of S4. Only done it on two of my characters so far, this one included. I had forgotten that line from him.
It's amazingly funny to see this one-year-old VOD, "I wish land spears were a thing." Good thing for you that the Necro spear looks amazing.
Haha right? Looking forward to the next expansion, homesteads especially. Finally, real player housing!
Am I the only one who thinks this guy sounds like Arthur Morgan?
Hah who me? Aw heck, no. Way worse!
Unfortunately, Canach lost a lot of snark in his voice when the VA changed from John DiMaggio to Matt Mercer. Thankfully Mercer got a new voice for Canach that's closer to his original since the one he did in IBS was atrocious. DiMaggio left between LW s4 ep. 5 and 6 which is the reason he's silent in ep. 6.
Oh wow I had no idea the VA chanced! But does explain the sudden lack of interaction in LWS4 Chapter 6. To be honest I didn't really notice any difference in the character voice but, if I recall, he was also not in IBS much until I wanna say Champions. Which I was just happy to be done with overall, and I know I am not alone in that opinion that IBS Champions is not the best work ANet have done.
@@imironwolf You can hear Canach in the DRM that takes place in Caledon Forest, and it sounds horrible.
@@nielsjensen4185 I guess I never noticed and instead focused on how horrible the experience of playing those missions was.🤣
I've no idea if you've realised this later. The Eyes of the Sea is a callback to the original story where you had to find a "priceless artefact" to protect Fort Trinity from the Risen. It had floated to Tyria and is quite normal in Cantha because they're a protective device created by Soo-Won.
I don't think I realised that, no! It has been a long time since I played the full personal story, too.
You have a very interesting and soothing voice, and you're a good speaker. Definitely a great baseline for doing streaming and play-through :) Keep doing it!
Hey, thank you so much! Others have said the same to me in the past during livestreams and I appreciate hearing it :D
That door you passed, there's a teleporter right next to it that you need to use to get in.
Not sure which bit you are referring to, this is a year old VOD. I may have found a way into whatever it was since then though but thank you! Can you let me know the timestamp on the video so I can check and see if it is something I have been missing all this time?
@@imironwolf That dawned on me when you talked about SotO as something in the future.
Heh yeah, I basically have a huge backlog of backed up VODs from stream saved here on my TY channel as private videos. Working my way through them and mixing up the content to create an archive of my past streams. I used to originally try to keep up with my streams as they were done but it was hard to run that way as well as stream and do other stuff in life and that stopped for a few years. Found a better flow now. :D
Kralk went insane when he absorbed Balthazar. Dragon Magic is native to Tyria and as such they have no issues digesting it. Humans and their gods are literal aliens from another plane of existence who fled it due to calamity and settled on Tyria. Balthazar gave Kralk a bad case of indigestion and made him go utterly nuts. Btw. The human gods have been involved in three cases of colonialism. The first time in Cantha, the second time when they helped the Ascalon settlers genocide the Charr away from their lands, and the third time indirectly in Kryta when they lent the human colonists there the power to chase the centaurs away from their native lands so they could take over.
So, as usual, the humans were basically the baddies and a bunch of jerks to others. :p
@@imironwolf Yeah, pretty much.
Nika was one of the heroes of the GW Cantha campaign. She was an assassin so, the name Nika's Blade carries a double meaning.
Nice, I still didn't know that. I have actually got back to Cantha recently to do some mastery and achievement hunting and wanted to explore some more. Not really been back there much since I streamed these episodes.
@@imironwolf There's a JP in Drowned Kaining where you can see her ghost at the end.
Aha, I think I know the one since I have done a JP in that area off stream. Didn't know that was her there, that is pretty cool.
The thumbnail reminds me of ffvii
Hah you know what? I never noticed that but you're right! Has that materia glow look.
The Jade Wind was the inciting incident in the GW Cantha expansion and petrified the whole of Echold Wilds, who was then called The Echowald Forest, and the entirety of the Jade Sea.
Yeah, someone in my chat at the time of the stream sent me the trailer video from the expansion release, pretty cool stuff!
The Purists have stringent standards for who they see as proper Canthan. Mai Trin is of Canthan descent and thus an improper Canthan that pollutes Cantha and thus has to be "dealt" with.
As someone that didn't play the first Guild Wars, I really did enjoy untangling the lore of Cantha. It was something very new to get my teeth into that was not retreading lore about Kralky, Primordus, and Jormag.
@@imironwolf The Ministry of Purity ascending and its destruction was between GW and GW2, so there's little to miss in that regard. The last bit of stuff for it was people escaping Cantha before the MoP shut it off from the world.
Aha gotcha.
The humming under a pile of clothes that she tells you to leave alone is a jade vibrator.
Oh... oh my...
To get around fast in New Kaining, you need to use the ziplines as you can skip entire floors with that. The proper mastery also gives you electrical charges. Use those to interact with the Jade Overcharges strewn around. They give you a permanent Boon that increases your defense or attack respectively as well as temporarily give you a load of Boons when entering combat.
Thank you for the tip! I had kinda figured this out by the time I was done streaming this, it is still a heck of a confusing map but I do kinda like it too. Not nearly as confusing as Tangled Depths, still. Nothing can be that bad. :p
@@imironwolf In the two upcoming maps there are areas that can only be reached if you use the ziplines as they're way too high up to fly there even in a skyscale.
Yeah the wilds and the quarry were interesting to say the least. I also enjoyed putting the Arborstone together through the masteries and running the achievements to collect stuff and learn history. That and Canach's casino :p
Awesome first part man, ive seen it earlier and knew what i had to do today ahhaha - greetings from sykes :P
Hey Sykes! Sorry I missed your comment until today! The last of the series is up so I hope you enjoyed catching the remainder of the game. :D

Thank you! Appreciate the comment!
How did you get your hud to look like that
Can you be more specific? I haven't done anything to the UI of the game so it should be the same as anyone else's. :)
When I am setting up my village I always make stone walls less firewood
Yeah it maybe would have been better for me to start with stone walls instead, especially since I have someone mining stone for me eventually. The town is not really struggling for fire wood at current size, though so should be fine. Can always switch it up later if/when I get back to playing this on stream in the future.
yeah not having fast crafting on is my least fav part of this playthrough.
Hehe yeah I get sick of it eventually and turn it on. Maybe a couple more episodes in?😅
god those darn pigs just keep ruining your hunts.
Right? Bad piggies everywhere!
I like the concept of medieval survival/crafting, but this game is too grindy ...
For sure, it is not for everyone. Personally I like the grind since it is at least chill and the stakes are pretty low all round but it will put some people off. :)
Safety first :) into sickbay Mounting guns on your arms will give them higher accuracy, but of course they tend to get destroyed easier. Overall not bad but some bad luck. The locust should have sprinted definitely. It was pretty much a dead warrant when you didn't. Good job on armouring up. If you think your pilot is going to get nuked, use the eject button. Your mech will be down but only the head is missing and the pilot won't be in hospital for a million years. Remember you have special morale abilities. If you want your mechs to jump further give them more jump jets.
I... have an eject button?!?! I will try and remember that, then :p And yeah on the jump jets, I am certain Glitch has jumped further than that, though I wonder if it being a steep down hill was doing odd things with the distance calculation available. I dunno. From this point on I will start trying to use called shots more, especially when hitting a vulnerable area on the enemy and take them out faster.
Starting to look very professional :) You're beginning to see the power of melee (also note the stability damage) If your mech is bigger then melee is always a great option, if smaller, kick them in the back but it is risky, as you might get annihilated the next turn Marauder is one of the best mechs in the game :) Ideal for sniping. Next mission try to start using some of your special abilities based on morale like precision strike. The Enforcer is pretty decent and quite tough for its size. If you can afford it, start raising ship morale (which means combat starts with more morale too) by increases salaries. It is a lot more expensive later in the game to do that so always good to get a little extra morale early
Funny you should mention the Marauder and making more use of called shots and such. I was reading about that this last couple of days and how people use that mech to snipe cockpits or rear torso with good effect. Was thinking I could go that way long term too. The next episode is already recorded and half-edited... you're not gonna like it and you will get to say "I told you so!" :p But I will start making more effort to do more called shots in future missions when I record a new batch this week.
Well that was hilarious and tense An AC/20 is so dangerous as it can oneshot you that a mech carrying one immediately becomes #1 target You should have manouvered to his side with the AC/20 and focus fired with all mechs to take that out ASAP Next priority would be the PPCs. Aside from their high damage it will reduce your accuracy if you're hit Always pick one side of an enemy mech and keep hammering away to get to the juicy center, don't switch sides Pick one enemy and focus fire. Try to get a knockdown to injure the pilot and get called shots. If a mech is down you can down called shots on him and go for his main weapon or his ammo So ballistics are more accurate than energy but consecutive firing will give a recoil penalty. The bigger the gun, the bigger the penalty. One turn not firing will reset it. That turn could for example be a melee attack. Ballistics are big, use ammo, but do more damage, are more accurate, and use generate little heat. The also do stability damage which is very important for the knockdowns. As all pilots will eventually be in heavy and assault mechs they should all get Bulwark and Sure Footing Master Tactician is also very useful to reduce your initiative and get your alpha strike in first I don't think you can reset your skills. You still are not protecting your mechs by turning your undamaged side to the enemy. Turning your back to them is suicidal, you really have an angel sitting on the Centurion's shoulder :)
Also, the bigger the ballistic gun the shorter the range. Skills can solve that. You will sooner or later get a dedicated LRM missile boat (like the centurion or even better a trebuchet) to fire from distance and cover. This will have almost no armour as it is not intend to get shot at ever, so that one doesn't particulary need Bulwark or Sure Footing So it is useful if one of the other mechs has sensor lock, so it can lock an invisible target, and then your missile boat can nuke it.
Thank you for letting me know about the ballistic penalty! So it is basically what I imagined it was, good to know. I had no idea it was a thing to be honest. :D And yes, there must be some unseen force watching over the centurion. So very luck!y I am thinking of renaming it LuckyLuigi! :p
I see promise in this channel
Consider my subbed
Thank you, appreciate the complement!
dude my uncle watched a fire one time. No lie. I tell true
Watching fire is never not cool!🔥👀
Well done with melee on the light mech, that is the way Also saw some actual manouvering Water is your friend as it cools you down. Never fight enemies in the water from land if you can avoid it. Still not positioning your own mech to ensure your undamaged side will take the next hit. You got lucky again. Waiting simply burning money made me cry a bit Pip will you give better missions, not so much more (that is reputation) You always win more rep than you lose. So simply switch sides a lot to ensure overal growth And always side with pirates against the local government as their rep has zero value
Thanks, I am not always finding it possible to put my mech's undamaged sides to face an enemy as well as be where I want the mech to be and also have a good firing arc. I am cutting out a lot of me just trying different placements before committing because it is just a lot of me going "Hmm.... uh... hm, no... maybe... hmmmmmm..." :p
@@imironwolf Hahaha I know just what you mean :)
@@LuckyLuigi Hehe "I want to play optimally but the game won't let me!" :p
Should have taken the two star mission you coward :) You've got 4 medium mechs, it's no problem. Training Day is one of the funniest missions. Always, always move your mechs, it is your best protection, especially for the light mechs. You should surrounded that shadow hawk so someone could shoot it in the back.
Haha I will have to do a 2 star mission next I think, anyway. :p
