Hey bumba! Thanks, yeah I pleasantly surprised by the render in default scenery - both in how smooth it was but also updated weather rendering in default SCS. It's really coming along. I'm running 59hz, although my monitor can do up to 164hz. That was a setting someone recommended changing, but your mileage may vary.

On a side note too, the mesh on the windscreen is a "stone guard", for protecting against stone chips.

Wow, that's literally a TON of weght 🤣 Was not aware that such weight could be transported with such little power - although 525hp isn't really "low powered". Good to know, and I'm glad it scratched the itch without having to go back into the industry, lol.

@@freebeardgaming yeah you'll be surprised! The lowest power-to-weight I had was a Kenworth T604, pulling around 83 tonnes (from memory) with only 450hp. Had to use nearly all 20 gears 😆 heaviest I think I had was somewhere between 150-180 tonnes, running around 550hp. But nowadays there are a lot of units running 600-800hp, and they definitely make light work of it. You'll be amazed at what a truck is capable of. There are many running between 200 and 300 tonnes, so heavy that the engine brakes don't do anything at all, and they still run around that 600hp mark.

Wow, that is crazy! I wouldn’t even get near a truck with an engine brake that doesn’t even do anything because of the weight. Maybe that’s why I’m not a real trucker 🤣 What was the transmission that had 20 gears? Only one I’ve heard of with that many gears is a Spicer 5x4.

@ It’s definitely a different feeling when the engine brakes aren’t doing much, even on flat ground haha. The transmission I’m referring to is the 18 speed Road Ranger (by Eaton Fuller). I’ve had many of them. They’re called 18 speeds, but they actually have 20 speeds. The extra 2 are hidden, and most truck drivers don’t even know they exist, as they aren’t on the shift pattern. Being a heavy diesel technician of 15 years, I knew them well, so knew about the 2 secret gears haha

Tires and wheels come with the trailer. I tried changing them up, but nothing else that I have fit quite right. So those are really the only option that I know of.

FLB is a great truck, especially since it's free. Glad to have it back in the game since I'm running the new beta. K100 is also a great free truck as well, agreed

tanks and flatbeds would be amazing, I agree. But since it's a free addon, I'll roll with it. It's done very well.

You don't always have to sell it, but some modders recommend selling the truck first, then deactivating it your active mods. Otherwise what happens sometimes is that the new truck / trailer is added, but the old one is still there. And if the new files overwrite the old ones, there's no way to get the older truck / trailer you've built to respond. So it just causes CTD. If a modder recommends selling and deactivating the mod first (before new installation or upgrade), I'd take their word for it.

@freebeardgaming Your videos actually motivated me to get Tobii 5 and I absolutely loved it but I have updated into a triple monitor setup now with a 49" ultra wide curved in middle and 27" curved screens on the sides. I still have the tobii attached and it sometimes comes handy with the triple screen!

@ I’ve thought about getting multiple screens, but honestly I love to look behind me when backing. To get the real experience, I would have to have 360 screens. So I just stay with the single screen for now because I have the whole range of vision by moving my head. But I get what you’re saying.

There are several mod skin packs and individual skins to be found, but yes I believe this was one of the packs that come with the truck. It’s color-changeable.

@@durkken_no_aim love that shifter, it’s really given me more realism. That being said, it’s an “extra”. An Eaton Fuller shift knob still works just fine. I would focus on getting a 2nd shifter base if you’re looking to get a twin stick system going. But of course, that will need a shift knob as well, so you could do both at the same time

That's a good fix for the time being. I did something similar for a while, but for me it didn't scratch the itch until I got that 2nd stick. Completely changed the level of immersion for me.

@@freebeardgaming Thats because you are a youtube guy. I have both of his trucks. I have been trying to get him by email for over a month. I dont have facebook, so I rely on email, which never gets returned. 24 paid mods, and this is the only one I have had trouble with.

Rigid body (built onto the truck chassis) comes with dump and log option. You also get a logging pup trailer included.

A dump pup trailer can be used if you already have one, but that isn’t included. But he may add that in the future. I’ve tried 3 other dump pup trailers as well (as the Felling trailer), and all attach and work fine in my experience

Yeah, it’s a good challenge for sure, but it’s obviously contained to it being a game. Throughout the rest of the tutorials, they recommend using other camera angles from the outside. This simulates “getting out and checking,” which is what you would do in real life for safety.

The Logitech by default is super quiet, but it just doesn’t have the resistance - especially for a heavy stick like I have. The Moza is loud by default? Doesn’t seem right.

@freebeardgaming yeah , the hgp makes a really annoying sound when changing gears. You can hear it, if you watch review videos of the shifter.

I’ll have to check that out. It’s the thing to at I hat about my shifter at the moment. Good response because of the larger spring I added, but the noise is horrendous
