REWIND | Canada's youngest death-row inmate was innocent
An innocent child was charged with the murder of his classmate - becoming Canada's youngest death row inmate. It wasn't until The Innocence Project became involved that Steven Truscott finally had his conviction overturned almost 5 decades later.
Professor Gail Anderson is Canada’s first-ever full-time forensic entomologist and has been working in the field for nearly 35 years. Her work is dedicated to the study of insects, and what they can reveal about miscarriages of justice.
In this discussion with host Kathryn Fox, Gail details her involvement in exonerating Steven Truscott, as well as Kirstin Blaise Lobato, who spent 16 years in prison for a crime she didn't commit.
This episode contains references to sexual violence against women and children. If you or someone you know needs help, dial 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). The number for Lifeline is 13 11 14.

Detectives, forensic psycho...
The Lindt Cafe Siege 10 Years On
Переглядів 90Місяць тому
10 years ago, Sydney came to a standstill. A lone gunman took 18 hostages captive inside the Lindt Café, some of whom escaped, others were trapped for 16 harrowing hours. The siege ended in the deaths of two innocent people-Tori Johnson, executed by the terrorist, and Katrina Dawson, struck by a ricochet from a police bullet when the Tactical Operations Unit stormed the building. In the afterma...

He’s killed eyes do not lie. He robbed drug dealers. He robbed criminals, he also was extremely anti social. So not liked or admired by the establishment. He admitted to four murders. I believe that was it. He did this during a time, with no camera phones, with little or no CCTV cameras. He was highly intelligent, with a lot of undiagnosed mental health problems. A history of abuse. And 23 years in and out of prison systems. If he’s mad enough to get his ears chopped of to prove a point. He is insane enough to murder. Eyes do not lie. Why not embellish enhance this reputation, when you are both a harden head hunter, Stand over man. With a warped sense of moral ethos that’s in the middle of that thin line between the veil of societies under world. His body riddles with scars. He even held a judge ransom. If he’s insane enough to do such things. Then a lot of stories are in actual fact truth. Just eccentricities, manic delusional hyper warped imaginative, enhancing the truth. From his perspective. He was a character. He allegedly could have got a liver transplant, yet refused, the liver went to a little girl. He’s old school.

He was the real deal. He made up many stories and even admitted that. But don’t be fooled into thinking he’s in any way fake. He made up and changed many stories for a good reason, so that no one knew what happened and what didn’t.

In my opinion Chopper made a better Comedian than a Criminal in his latter years….the mystique nature that he portrayed about himself brought people to closer to unravel the true person…still love watching his reels

Also I think it’s because the other driver wasn’t seriously hurt and because it was pretty obvious that jail wasn’t going to make things any better or help anyone and they knew his history of mental health problems etc.

I know a man who was a prison officer during the time chopper was in pentridge. And what i was told made alot sense and was quite interesting. He said that during choppers time in pentridge he was actually very tough and violent and cpuld handle himself, chopper was feared by alot of inmates. He waged war within the prison against rivals/enemies. Choppers gang/ group were out numbered by quite alot, but chopper and his crew implemented various tactics and strategies to attack the enemy. Extremely violent.... You also have to understand the priaon system was alot different back then, it wasnt regulated and as open as it is today. Back in those days things happened and was not documented, the prisom system was closed off to the outside world, so things was alot easier to keep under the rug and kept quiet.

The Castalloy factory, carparks and cottages have been levelled in the last few months. It currently sits as a huge vacant lot. Now would be an ideal time to be searching for them. Would it be worth getting some cadaver dogs and going over the vacant lot? Cadaver dogs can detect human remains buried up to 15 feet deep regardless of whether they've been there for hours or even decades.

It's disgusting the lengths UK and AUS authorities will go to protect offenders, even the most evil ones, but won't protect your innocent children. When the governments so blatantly lies...and not just bold faced lies but straight up gaslights what everyone clearly sees with our own and eyes and ears; then provides no evidence; criminalizes showing evidence, and telling the truth you are living in a dystopia. 2 + 2 DOES NOT EQUAL 3!

A good doco, but in the end, it just reiterates the simple fact that criminalising activities where there is no party who feels wronged in the transaction, does far more harm than good. The progression to really nasty drugs like meth and fentanyl is they are harder to detect.
