Love Steely Dan. Love this book, especially the wonderful paintings of the characters. I own all the other Steely Dan books out there and Quantum Criminals is fantastic! RIP Walter Becker ❤ 41:17
This book to me.... it will be a classic. It's such a comfortable read. With coffee or a glass of wine and I hope teachers are thinking about having this book for younger readers because it is a gift for the youth.
Its true... I knew a lot about the paintings in the Model Part... but of the artist on the second section there was only Edmonia Lewis.
“concept of a plan” 😭 this channel is golden subscribed
😭😭😭
This is too relatable
lol
It’s funny as hell because of how ironic it is. The same crowd of people saying “it’s just a joke” or “it’s just a word it shouldn’t hurt you” are the same people banning books. Awww did the words hurt your feelings?
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Why are they called banned books? They are not actually banned... they are only banned from certain buildings in certain areas. But i guess deceptive marketing is what everybody does already
If they're banned anywhere, they're banned. It's not misleading "marketing"
I love to read so much, like President Obama said "You can travel the world just by picking up a book!" So true!
Wow!
Oh no way! How awesome
Excellent discussion. Thank you.
read the book "racist mother of black son". published in Brazil by publisher CRV.
I love her.
I just finished your memoir Lacy Crawford. I have to say it was very disturbing. I, not being priviledged, was unaware that sexual things of this nature was happening at schools such as St. Pauls. I'm, however, not surprised by the boys behavior. We are all aware of the violence & sexual depravity that boys, men exhibit. Thank you for your memoir, for the truth. I'm glad you are well, happy & loved by your husband & sons. Stay safe.
Oh, hey Scott, what a coincidence ) Cheers from one cyrillic state, from a no-reply one, anyway, our magazine is doing just fine..... I've just finished the second novel by Atticus, and I'm just feeling overwhelmed - what a daring foray into sons vs sick mf maniac fathers ur-theme. It was truly a rewarding reading, and I just want to thank you.
Ann Arbor is a radical leftist chithole. And Steven Shaviro is a nazi jew calling for the murder of his political enemies. Sounds good. Murder goes both ways.
Review of F and C : She looks like a very young british fashion designer but inside she is not blonde and ideal she is like this: curly dark hair and a quite prominent sexy nose, brown trembling eyes absent more of the time. But she is still a young british fashion designer with angel face falled from heaven with troubled green eyes possessed by the identity of Fitzgerald . I can not stop reading the book and I can not stop thinking about her double color of hair and double shape of a nose, the mouth is the same, when I work bad or when I shop the wrong stuff or when I pretend to lisen to people who I smile to while they make me want to scape or when I stare into the dark of the ceiling. It happened to me before with Fitzgerald and Sagan, Antonioni, Aragon. This is my opinion about her. To write like her is very difficult , you need to work a lot and to have un immense duende and to be a big b**ch. A lovely one ;). Habra toneladas tonelas de problemas y un poquito de sexo si tienes suerte.
Jajjaja amo este comentario 😂👌🏻
I am Half way through you novel now. I can not stop. working in a hospital and between injections and pills your novel comes across my mind and I think how good your writing is. I am not an expert, I read mostly french, I have thrown to the bin many english new sensations after few pages. you are not a perfect writer at all but in some moments your writing is incredible. I was shaking and sad through some pages like when I first read the ones we all love..at a similar degree you made me stop eating for long hours !! and your are estrange too, you look like a vulgar model or a stupid clothes designer and then I find myself into the mind of baldwin or Salinger or Capote..and is very very exiting and moving surprise that acts like your soul is back with you for some days before hidding from the weight of days of silence and noise of the 50s. I only write this here because nobody has done it yet and that is categorically rude. I do not understand why. All my adulation is not enough . To write like that is very difficult. Y te vi prisionera entre la belleza y el dolor incapaz de salvarte.

Is this the Alex beggs of NY times SUPPORTING CANNIBALISM???!!!
Just finished reading this book!! So good and beautifully written. I loved how the black girl was described and not in the weird way some authors do it like “her skin was as dark as chocolate” or some weird stuff like that. The ending was so understandable and realistic that I can’t even get mad at it😭 Congrats on your book Kasim Ali! Pray there’s many more to come in the future (:
Great interview Lillian!
Great conversation Lillian & Melissa! Bravo!
can you post all the books and authors that you mention on Literati's Book Website. I missed the name of the poet, early on
Yes! Here are all Shannon's recommendations: www.literatibookstore.com/asian-american-pacific-islander-month
Basho!
Kathryn's secret is that she is a very good writer.
A wonderful guest. I’m eager to read his book.
Another good question about disambiguating authors from characters!
Love what Woolridge said about "guarding your special" and connecting with Crimp on that basis.
Yes - the performing elements of A VERY NICE GIRL are important. An Australian connection - Jessie Tu wrote A LONELY GIRL IS A DANGEROUS THING.
