I think that your kids would like the Snowman Cookies for the holidays they r easy and simple to make. Ingredients r large marshmallow for the bottom part then vanilla wafer for the hat and a rolo on top of that then u put the pretzel sticks for the arms and melt vanilla icing all over it and its called Snowman Cookies Desert!

If someone threw a fit over a gift, I would take the gift back and they'd never get anything else ever again. Even a white elephant gift. That is totally inappropriate behavior and I will not entertain it. We had a box of Viagra band-aids that were passed around as a white elephant gift for years, not something exciting at all, just hilarious. (The band-aids eventually all got used and just the box was getting re-gifted, lol). I wonder what finally happened to that... hmmm. I've received gifts that I won't use many times, but I still am grateful and thank the person who gave me the gift. Gifts that I know I won't use, will make great future gifts for someone who I know will use that item or you can donate the item to someone less fortunate. No excuse to behave badly over any gift that you receive, especially a white elephant gift where you know there is a chance you may receive something you don't want or need. I totally understand your position though, that is a lot of money to spend for someone to not use whatever it is they receive. We never had a specified monetary value on white elephant, we were all broke so most items were $20 or less.

Are we the same person?? Haha My 6 year old loves to pretend Santa so I let her, just as she pretends with her dolls. She even leaves out milk and cookies but she’ll say “so who’s going to eat the cookies and drink the milk? Momma or daddy?!?!” My oldest son is 16 and has autism so he’ll also pretend if he sees someone in costume and they haven’t ruined it for anyone (yet)- my 2 year old doesn’t understand so a Santa costume is still scary to him 🤣 It’s nice to see someone on a platform standing up for the real reason for the season; without Jesus, are have nothing. Great gifts. The age you're kids are is perfect. I remember at babies ages all they want is the Amazon box to play with anyhow., It's when they get to preteens that it's starts to become more challenging lol. That's where i am. Enjoying my 5 year old also who is just happy with anything new. (I have 5,9, 13 year old boys)

When your kids get a little older, I find the some of the best toy deals are in October. Just an FYI. I shop year round too. Good job!

I love that you gave a review of what is still being used from last year. I feel that if people are intentional and buy less, the likelihood of it being used increases. When kids get too much, it becomes overwhelming and even open-ended toys that have a ton of play value get lost in the clutter. I would rather buy less and make sure that I get my moneys worth. I’m going to remember that silicone mat for play-dough and slime.

For the dog peeing on carpet situation I know for cats there is a spray you can use that will make it so the cat thinks another one marked its territory there in hopes it doesn’t pee so maybe there is a similar product for dogs !

I remember a news segment from around 2008 when I was little saying the average parent could only afford 10 gifts per child and how tragic that was. I remember at the time thinking that was the saddest thing I'd ever heard. Now I'm a mom and I look back on that and think what the heck is wrong with our society.

Absolutely no offence intended but, at the age your children are now, your budget is very do-able. They don’t really understand what’s going on and they have no concept of what is going on in the rest of the world. Their needs are very simple. As they get older things will get a lot more complicated 😄. However, what you are doing is putting in place an ongoing structure of managing expectations and implementing a firm base around which you can instill in your children your beliefs and family values. 👏🏻. You did a great job with the gifts, I’m sure you’ll have 2 very happy little boys on Christmas Day 😊.
