소향 님 영상 진짜 많이 봤는데 이 노래는 부르신 줄 몰랐네 와ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 다른 노래는 몰라도 이 노래만은 키 변동 없어야 한다고 생각했는데.. 갓소향 두성 미쳤다ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

세션 제정신인가 소향노래 망치네;;;

Sohyang is probably the best belter ever, but the fact that she doesn't have more to offer (like extreme agility, consistent lows, exquisite beauty in general especially in the tones/notes liek Whitney - Sohyang tone's is not so good - , no natural break between the high and low registers [the iconic Whitney's Stars Spangled Banner '91 - No one today is able to exceed this performance] perfect vibrato, perfect climax, stamina, power, steady tone, charming voice, rythm and full control) than a developed connected modal register. She'es not in the same league as Whitney and Mariah (Whitney is the Queen), is closed to but not in. She can sustain high pitches but she is higly overrated. Sohyang has head voice small and airy, chest voice virtually nonexistent, her sound nasal most of the time, her high belts have a pinchy, harsh, buzzy resonance (a little shrill and overly - her tone is not so loved), like somthing stucking in her throat and she cannot phrase in her middle area with clarity and her lower register somtimes is just amplified air. Sohyang is good but she is focused too much on power...You can consider this. for example, listening this or other her cover of Whitney's "i will always love you" where she can't reach some tones, going out of melody, risking sometimes to crack and having often to catch her breath. Whitney, altough is not so much powerful as her (if you want to listen to high notes, just go listen to opera, thats it, around there were, there are and there'll be) is agile in changing easly register, the melody flows out her mouth. Sohyang has high notes but her scale has a huge gap int the middle and in the lower part of the her voice. It lacks the trumpet-like quality tha great technical singers generally have, ahd her voice at the higher pitches, is screechy, not really so impressive, eventhough she is surely talented (she is a vocal teacher in a university), bnut the way is long to go. Singing is not only about the vocal range! Having a big range is useless if the quality is terrible or not so good. Whitney's voice flowed like it was liquid...singing for her seem to be easy as breathing..no artifactual shouting, but sheer voice no whistling or melismatic tricks, i repeat myself sheer voice. She could transform any song into her own (the famous Dolly Parton's "I will always love you" today is completley shaded, and few people remembers that it was not a Whitney's song) and you will be able to feel what she is singing. She is a performer/singer when she is on stage she doesn't need lights, dancers, or anything like that just her voice because the empathy and the feelings he produced came from the armony of those elements all at once...."The Voice"... Today there are few people who come close to Whitney’s voice like Cece Winans for exemple, but they come with huge disclaimers attached, but is a fact that most skilled singers really cannot come anywhere close to matching Whitney Houston’s power, control, precision, incredible technical proficiency marked by performance consistency and intonation accuracy as well as great musicality. The golden standard. Whitney is the agreed-upon best singer of all time (and rightly so), So Hyang today has only the best belting ability stop - is like in soccer history: Roberto Carlos is remembered like one of the strongest kicker but not the best like Maradona or Pele. Whitney had all those amazing vocali qualities to create the magic that you can feel crawling across your spine, from the beginning to the end.

후반부 기교까지 역시....대단하네요...훌륭합니다.

제 욕심일지 모르겠지만....이런 작은 무대에서 보는건 이제 마음이 아프네요.세계적으로 인정받는만큼 그만한 대우를 받고세계적인 공연을 하셨으면 좋겠는데 ㅜㅜ이런말 별로 좋지 않은 말이지만소향님은.... 최대 약점이 우리나라에서 태어나신거라는....이 생각이 자꾸 드네요.
