Elena and Stefan largely deserved their life together that they had seen in their visions but the departure of Nina Dobrev changed everything to the chagrin of the Stelena team 😔

I always thought it would be Stefan and Elena because they were sort of the anchor for vampire diaries. The main love story, however, seemed to revolve around Elena and Stefan as they were kindred spirits. I'm very disappointed that the plots and the relationships between the characters are different from LJ Smith's books. The relationship between Stefan and Elena was handled very poorly by the writers, as they had an incredibly deep and meaningful relationship but In season two, their relationship changed due to Caroline's transformation into a vampire ( personally I don't understand why the writers made Stefan help Caroline in her transformation when it didn't concern him, I think it was a plot from the start to keep stefan away from Elena) In the books, Caroline is a secondary character and in the series, we only see her, in addition I find that she steals the spotlight from Elena because Julie Plec made sure that her character had a better development in the series , to the detriment of others. Elena was a luminous person with good qualities in the first 3 seasons but then she got dark and annoying and she didn't end up with Stefan as the Vampire Diaries director had planned.

Dean might never have said "I love you" to Cas, but those "I need you"s certainly sounded like it. And the look on his face when Cas died in Season 12? That was the look I had when my husband died when i was 22. (Married at 19, for the curious.) The joy whenever Dean hugged Cas. The fact that they could make each other smile simply by saying the other person's name. They were definitely a couple. Although I feel like the writers could have at least given us a kiss somehow. Even a simple kiss on the cheek between them.

Sam is Dean's ONLY emotional connection to the world for most of the series. Dean started saying he was "tired of the job and the losses" in Season 2 (Croatoan), and he doesn't really get any better along the way. After Castiel appeared, Dean also managed to establish an emotional relationship there, whether you call it BFF or Destiel. (To me, it's most certainly Destiel.) Dean never felt worthy of being loved, and the only two people in his life who love him unconditionally are his brother Sam, and the angel Castiel. (Yes, Bobby Singer loved him like a son. But he wasn't in the show as often as Sam and Cas.)

Bonnie and Enzo??? Who would have thought rhey would become the best couple on the show. Remember Bonnie chopped off Enzo's hand at the Armory. He ends up being the "love of her life ". Don't forget Enzo hit Bonnie in the head at the Amory. She ends being '"the love of his life". Best in the whole series. They only had a few episodes but they became better than all of the other couples
