This is therapeutic to watch! Nice prep work man!
I was definitely waiting for you to put the fuel tank in the dishwasher 😉 unless that is to come 🤫
Is that a thing?
Cleaning 👍 but I hope your next roasted chicken won't tastes like WD40 😂
I had to heat water with oranges in it to get the smell out 😂
I believe the term for cleaning that wheel is polishing a turd 😂
It was hard. But I am genuinely happy with the result. I’d love a new one though. But over £200 is a rip off
Sparkly clean! I can smell this video
Minty fresh!
So happy to see videos likes this as helps me and my son with his kart as we a build one for gx
So pleased I can help. The next video will hopefully be out Tuesday. I’m filming the front rebuild as we speak and taking off to get jigged
Look forward to the next one were would be the best place to get a gx 160 engine
I wish the numpty ive been working with this year had your working practice cause they might of won a championship !!
At the start of this season I had no interest in all this but my team mate this year (Brad) drilled all this in to me and it all just made sense. I’ve started putting the kart back together and it’s super easy because it’s all spotless
In my case you can't educate stupid so I give up but it's good practice get to know your kart 😊
That's a proper cleaning !! I'm impressed ! PS: I hope your oven is not smelling WD-40 forever 🤣
I got a bit OCD with it 😂 it took WAY longer than I expected. But it will make the build easier! As for the oven……. It stank! I should have cleaned the hubs throughly first! I had to put a solution of water and lemons in the oven and cook it to get the smell out
Great video dude.
Thanks dude
How often do you strip down your kart like this?
@@ThiagoMazzeo this is the first time since building it at the beginning of the season. But the kart doesn’t live with me. I’m not sure I’d do this kind of a strip mid season
I miss that sound!
That tyre barrier looks like it is in an incredibly dangerous position. Why did the circuit put it there ? Alex could have been hurt.
Yeah it’s the exit for the rental kart pits. I agree it should be put away when the rentals are not on track
Thats a claim right there.
Sometimes shit happens. I was fine. Not a broken bone or even a bruise. They were apologetic and I even went back out. It was all gravey
At least those in-suit airbags deployed to save you
Wouldn’t have had to have deployed if you put the wheel on right!
You look like Spider-Man ate Spider-Man! 🤣
Always the funny man
I didn’t want to disappoint you 😉🤣
1:43 I remember that sound so well! It took me a little while to adapt to rotax after TKM, the clutch requires a very different driving style.
It’s a mega sound. Really really liked it.
I used to race at rye as a kid in the 80”s. I love the fact that you can still see the original layouts on the track and how it’s evolved .
It’s a lovely track. I’ve always liked it. Nice to have it 35 min from home
I think it took us about an hour to get there. We lived over by Heathrow. All my testing was done at rye , and I was a member of the club too. That was when the Deavinsons used to own it. I don’t know if it’s still in their hands🤷♂️. I done most of my club racing at kimbolten and rye. And the super one series all around the country.
U should drive an ok with forza round pf
I’m not sure what you mean. Other than talking about PFI 😂
Ciao Alex Vangeenetti, if you think TKM is fun.. You should try a late 90s 100cc Formula A Kart ( Rotary ) So agile/lightweight, POWER, and sometimes screaming with +20,000rpm... Considered by many of the greats as proper karting / kartings golden era... Oh yeah, and it can be done very affordable...
That’s sounds bonkers. Would love to have a go. However since this vid went up a few of the F300 aixro guys have offered for me to have a go. Those things are rotary and about 40bhp
@@AlexVangeenRacing This is the real deal!! FIA Historic Playlist... ua-cam.com/play/PLITMivSQQICEfC4zZp4c8jK-CyfZSx-jq.html
Rotax is faster, but TKM extreme is much nicer to drive. And so light.
Yeah I have driven a rotax at rye this year. It was faster and scarier lol Check the vid for it!! ua-cam.com/video/aaT3lSGezEI/v-deo.htmlsi=mCs-OzEzskcmlgIX
Alex, I have a potential tip for your consideration. When disassembling or assembling you might consider putting something over your deck boards in the chance you drop a washer and it falls through the spaces between. Or you can be like me take 10 years into my career as a mechanic to keep learning the hard way. Keep it up as I will be following you and Brad for next season.
I’ve already lost a magnet for my microphone and an Allen key 😂 I was in a shop the other day looking at flooring. But I keep making excuses why not to
Great vid! TKMs sound brilliant, looked like a blast!
Thanks dude. Yeah was fun day. Maybe an F300 is on the cards soon
The video intro is priceless ! Only 50 to hit 1000 subscribers ! Very cool Alex ! Cheers
Thank dude! Glad you enjoyed it. Yup so closes only 48 now. Feels miles away though!
Brilliant racing is it similar to prokart
It’s slower but way lighter and nicer to drive. The racing as you have seen is so close
See you on the 2-stoke side !!!
not this year, but was a fun toy to play with
Great video, the TKMs are a lot of fun aren’t they! Now I’m off to rearrange a footrest 😂
So much fun! dying to get back in a kart now! don't touvh that kart of yours, don't want you going any faster!
That did look fun!
Would have loved a full day to get dialed in
Also those flybys look amazing
Mr Purchase was very brave
Looks really fun to drive. The only thing I dislike about GX is how Flat out a lot of it is. This seems to remove that. But I refuse to move class until I am sufficiently bored of GX still a long way to go.
The GX kart on its own on a track isn’t that much fun. BUT in a pack of 30 karts it’s mental that I’ll never get bored of. But on a test day this thing was a hoot
Haha
Ryan’s a funny boy
The innuendo super-cut! 😂 New drinking game going forward, when watching AVG videos drink a shot for every innuendo! 🍻
Thank you for the edit. I’m glad I made you laugh
awesome stuff AVG
Great vid mate! Cool little track, not seen it before
Yeah I really enjoyed it! Despite the oain
That's how it should be done after every outing.
@@AFFMotorsport if I had the time money and energy maybe but it’s not necessary if the kart is running well, just doing good prep is enough. But also, the kart didnt live with me during the season, so was never possible.
New decals for 25?
Absolutely!
Tell me you’re getting the frame jigged!
Oh absolutely! It’s in desperate need. I have to get it partly built back before I take it to the jigg place. Won’t be until after Xmas
Loving your videos Alex👍
Thank you! That’s means so much ❤️
That was a fab video Alex! Really informative and I learnt something (thank you). Are you going to produce a rebuild vid?
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I very much plan to do a rebuild vid. To do it in this detail might be a 2 parter!
@ yep, fully appreciate the time investment needed for these. Keep up the great work
I hope your wife is not pissed with you cause when I use her "tools" to apply stickers on my kart, I sleep in the dog's house LOL !
The trick is she didn’t know……. Then I left it out on the kitchen table……. Busted myself. But luckily I was done with it
@ 😬
I was just wondering does your uni ball bearing has play in it even if you have replaced it mine lets the steering column go up n down I didn't know if there is trick to stop this ?
No, mine did last year it’s why we changed it. But what you can do to help this is move the steering wheel collar closer up to the column mount. When I do my rebuild I’ll try to remember to show that.
Just out of curiosity, have you considered using the split sprockets ? I know it's the same effect, but it just seen easier to use the split ones than cutting and bending the normal ones.
The sprockets we use aren’t available as split versions. And the method Alex shows here is incredibly easy and efficient, so there’s not really a reason to do anything different
More risks of misalignment. It’s why we use a super thin saw. When I make the full video it will show the saw we use.
@@AlexVangeenRacing understood ! Thanks for sharing !
@@BradPhilpot I'm not challenging the method, just to be clear. I used to race GX390 (428 chain) and we had the split sprockets. I've seen the 219 in the split version as well, but not sure if this is the chain you guys use. The 428 sprocket wouldn't be possible to bend, but I think the method you use is very good indeed.
I have not worked with either but if I had to guess I would think the cut one is actually faster for assembly less hardware you have to line up and tighten down yeah??
Honestly, it cant be that hard to get the axle off? Not much harder than disassembling a motorcycle rear wheel? Splitting a sprocket seems like a lot of effort
To take the axel off you need to 1. Take off engine 2. Take off rear wheel and hub 3. Take out key way 4. Undo 6 grub screws 5. Release screws on both bearing carriers 6. Release screws on brake disc carrier 7. Release screw on sprocket carrier 8. Push axel through 9. Take off sprocket carrier 10. Take off old sprocket 11. Put on new sprocket 12. Do the reverse of steps 1-9 13 make sure all your sprocket alignment is correct. Or 1. Make sure your sprocket is cut 2 . Bend it on (reverse to the vid) 3. Reattach it to the carrier.
It’s a 5 minute job vs a 45 minute job. Taking an axle out involves loads of steps, each one very time consuming and risking the misalignment of your brake disc carrier and sprocket afterwards. You’d also have to clean out and re-loctite all the grub screws. Changing an axle is a huge task. Changing a sprocket that you’ve cut like in the video takes just a few minutes and is super easy. Take it from us: we finished P1 and P5 in the standings and had zero issues caused by this all season.
how do you get the new one on
@@paulwilson5451 the same way but just in reverse. This clip is from a bigger full strip down video I’m making. That will be out in a week or so. There will then be a rebuild video.
Change a sprocket? No, that's how you take a sprocket off.
I mean that’s incredibly picky and technically you’re correct but 🤷🏽♂️
Do you notice the weight on the steel stock?
Well done Alex your videos and Brad's ones are great. I started to watch them recently and find them very exciting almost more than F1 😂 See you soon on Missedapex 😊
STILL WON LOL
Kudos on the loss of weight (althout I had to google how much a stone represents 🤣🤣😂)
😂 I’m glad you enjoyed it. the next time I mention weight I’ll add all the other measurements to the screen. I’m looking to lose 1st 8lbs/10kg/22lbs by next season
interesting title selection
@@REALdomMkarting it’s a very old video
