This is such great prep for those students who want to go to college. I was given essay questions in so many different classes, from history to science and more. I had a history teacher who would give one-word prompts and we would have to write about the significance of that word to that period of history. Or he would start a paragraph with a partial sentence, and we would have to finish the sentence and then the paragraph. I really enjoyed those tests much more than multiple-choice, and made better grades on them too.

We love Rod & Staff English. So few UA-camrs sharing this fantastic curriculum. We have gone through English 2 to English 6 so far.

Hi, I do not have chidren so therefore do not home school but am interested in the topic. One of the best points you made and a huge issue with majority of public schools is the importance of play for young children. Sadly even kindergarten in all the schools I have substitute taught in have next to no free time for play, 95% of the day is spent on structured lessons including specials. Play is how children learn to communicate, it is where their building blocks for co-operation, negotiation, empathy etc. are generated. Whilst academics are important if children do not know how to socialise in positive ways, if they do not know how to co-operate with their peers then they will struggle in so many areas of their life as they grow. Play, play and play is so very important.

I love Genesis curriculum! I’ve used it a few times with all my kids but just this year I’m using it with my 6th grader who has severe ADHD. It’s amazing and he loves how engaging it is. Genesis is my core curriculum for him and I add in math, reading and map work. I love finding my own activities, games and videos for him to use alongside.

I have been interested in this curriculum for a while. Thank you for showing it a little more in-depth.

I am curious… does this curriculum take the assumption that Narnia and Frankenstein is written from a Biblical Worldview? Will the student be encouraged to find flaws in this literature that do contradict the Bible? Also, does this curriculum take the assumption that the theology in Mere Christianity is correct? I have seen issues in that book…. However, if the student is able to uncover these flaws due to the skills provided in this curriculum I can see it as highly valuable. But, if the curriculum writer created this curriculum from the standpoint that Mere Christianity is a solid apologetics source, I would be concerned.
