I like building stuff, fixing stuff, wrecking stuff, truck & tractor pulling, road trips, camping, gardening, hunting, even shenanigans and some tomfoolery- you name it- you're likely to find it here.
I never know what I might get myself into next - so you never know what you might see on this channel.
I want to encourage you to be active in your community in some significant way. Philanthropy comes in many different forms- I'll try to show you how to get out and do something nice for someone.
Pay it forward
Do random acts of kindness
I'll try my best to keep you entertained and I hope I can teach you some things and learn some things from you all as well.

Revisit a repaired gravestone 1 year later

In a former video I repaired this old gravestone from 1788. It’s my 5g grandmothers stone. It was laying in the dirt in a dozen pieces but I cleaned it and put it back together with epoxy. I infilled the cracks with epoxy and granite sand. I went back to check on it and see how it’s doing. Still standing and looks great.

I just wondered if your combination worked out with the numbers on the dial ring. You angled your lock case and I figured it would be off by five of six numbers in relation to the dial ring.
@@derek7448 it works perfect. You set the combo after it’s installed, so the numbers are where they are- the orientation to the case doesn’t matter. The lock might “think” the numbers are different than what I read, but it doesn’t matter. Does that make sense?
@@towntinker Sure. It was a really good idea to install the lock like that. I have a similar thing I am trying to on the inside door. My new project safe is missing the key lock on the inside door. It is a big two door Mosler safe. I have an extra Mosler combination lock that I might do a similar thing that you did, I just have a lot thinner door to work with on this one. They can be challenging but that is what makes it interesting! Good videos!!

Hey man I can't seem to find a replacement electric motor. Can you let us know where you got yours in the part number? All I can find is the entire unit top and bottom.
Hey @@J-S-Films there’s no part number on it, but my local plow install/repair shop had a small stack of them right in stock. It’s nice to deal with the local small business guy, you can’t beat him. He knew exactly what I needed before I even set it on the counter, and it had a 1 yr warranty. Are you in upstate NY by chance?
No, I am in Charlestown NH on the border of VT
@ this guy is in Ft Ann NY Near the Vt border. But the other side.. Haha.
Yes, it's perfectly ok to move the footstones. Saves more stone damage down the road.
Thanks Butch
Thanks for the cemetery repair fix! I needed one. Talking about what that acorn looking piece represents, you're right, it's an urn. Sometimes symbols symbolize exactly what they look like. What do think about cleaning before infilling so you can color match the marble dust? It wouldn't make much difference on the urn since the break will hardly ever be seen, but maybe on the tablets it would make a difference?
You could be right @@johnstiteler4088 I have not messed around with color matching and I don’t have any materials to do it. That said- around here they are almost all very very white marble, which works well with the dust I have.
Thank you for respecting these headstones and repairing/ cleaning them!

Why did you cut down such an incredibly nice American Elm tree? I assume there is a good reason but I'm genuinely curious. I burn about 5 cords a year so I cut down trees all the time... But NEVER the Elm trees as they are so rare these days due Dutch Elm Disease. Especially one that size.

That's a beautiful car. I grew up riding in cars of the 50's & early 60's. They called the soft ride " The Boulevard Ride". That trailer would look great behind it but I'd tape the trailer of and spray it the same red with a silver stripe. Cheers 🍺🤛😎👍

I used my 38 Cadillac in my own wedding. I paid a limo to follow us to the venue as we rode in it to the venue. If the car broke down I was going to leave it on the side of the road and hop in the limo. Maybe have a friend wait for the tow truck. But we paid way to much money to risk missing an hour for a broke down car! Luckily it worked good. But the day after it had a transmission problem. Dodged that bullet!!!
@@tomm1109 that’s a cool story Good memory
If there is one thing you want working on a car this heavy, it's the brakes. Don't want them to ruin the special day. I'd check for leaks and/or dropping fluid levels. My 1964 Barracuda had a single master cylinder, and I wouldn't be surprised if this had that as well. Also check the emergency brake operation. I speak as someone who almost went through the garage door with my 1951 Studebaker coupe and smashed my 1950 Studebaker convertible. It's a twofer!
@@janhaliski9297 they are working like a charm now
An absolutely beautiful artifact from a world that is now lost to us. (almost) Makes me long for the days of 26 cent a gallon gas.

@@charlescarter1529 I suppose I should have said a MOPAR Imperial. I stand corrected
@@towntinker it’s “Imperial by Chrysler”. Imperial was considered a separate brand, separate body on frame chassis with a longer wheelbase, different body panel tooling along with quite a few other differences. 1960 was pretty much a one year design, one of my favorite Imperials!
@@kevinw1554 haha- ok ok good info. But you used the word Chrysler… haha I don’t typically Wade in the minutia like that but it sounds like you certainly know what you’re talking about. She is a beautiful car
