It's all stock for now, except for the new CDI box I just installed this morning. And WOW what a difference from the stock one!! It's a Dynatek FS Ignition And I forgot to test the rev limiter delete for the video but I will do a FULL comparison video later. Like, comment, and subscribe

Just an update! Got her up to 68 mph just the other day, pretty damn proud of her and my work! Sat for 6 years before I got my hands on her lol runs like she did brand new. Now I just gotta install new front shocks, find new body plastics, install a new Dynatek CDI, and install an aftermarket muffler. I don't know what's good for aftermarket mufflers, let me know in the comments!

Kawasaki Prairie 650 cold start

Cold start of the Prairie 650 after 4 long cold months with fresh 91 octane gas
My slides won’t open up
Mine does the exact same thing with the air box off runs perfect when the air box and lid are installed
Check for air leaks at the intake
What year is it
Un it's gonna run like shit like that. You need the air box on
I have the same 2002 Kawasaki Prairie, and mine topped out at 64 MPH and I weight 260, so I guess that is good.
Love that whine of the Kawasaki I miss mine
My 650 tops out at 64, still stock. Guess there's not much difference. But I do want the dynatek. Was also looking at Sgori's manual 4wd shifter and locking differential. I was thinking about doing the 2inch lift or dynatek first.
Got my step dad's 650 up to 68 once. But that was down hill with the wind to my back lol
My 700 went 72 from the factory then I put bigger 27 inch tires on it.
My girlfriend and I ride together all the time and she rides in just her g string panties. She lets me wear her pink lace panties and we ride all over. Very comfy....I wear her panties all the time now. Jim
Your transmission definitely sounds a little loud might want to service that clutch or get a new belt
That's normal on these
That's the kawi whine. Straight cut gears will do that. Aftermarket exhaust fixed the noise for me.
It does that because they have an engine break kebc...
@@tibrucee6969 I'm well aware of what they do I've had a few I've had every quad I'm a mechanic
@anthonyk6265 if you were a real mechanic then you'd know it's the KEBC not a belt or clutch 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣and I can guarantee you haven't had every kind of atv just because you say your a mechanic goof ..I can name atvs that you'd have to search on Google to.come back and respond to me ..move on little dude
I have a 700 King Quad axi with a couple mods and my prairie 700 with a dynatek and the Prairie definitely opens up a lot more on the top end
Did it give you any more power
Feels like it! A lot more responsive too!
@@hansentom50 nice .I got a 2021 brute and wanted to get one
It does add 3-5hp. Most importantly, it add 3 degrees of timing to the ignition and tricks the ECU into thinking it's always doing 5mph. Doing so prevents it from taking away 3 degrees of timing under 3mph. It also raises the limiter from 8500 to 9000 (iirc). Best mod for it hands down.
@@rundownaxe nice I might get one later on
My prairie did the same thing and it was stuck choke .
Mines at a shop rn and needs the same thing
Awesome. I really want a dynateck for mine, but they are a bit hard to find right now just like most atv parts
Kawieriders forum is the best place to ask. They are getting old now and many gather dust. someone might sell you his.
How many miles do you think is okay with buying one of these. Thank you!
Buying the quad or the CDI box?
@@hansentom50 the quad
@@alexz4012 these quads are known to drop valves between about 3000 and 3600 miles if the valves aren't checked and/or adjusted. They are very reliable. But for a quad to be reliable, the owner must be reliable also. If you buy one close to 3000 miles or over, take it into the shop and have someone check them for you
@@hansentom50 okay thank you
@@hansentom50 The valves aren't that big of a problem. Easy to do and easy to diagnose. If it is hard to start for no reason, check the vavles. Bought it at 3000km, adjusted the valves twice in 12 years. I beat on it, sunk it, flipped it. I broke the shiftgate and grinded the transmission to make it out of a trail. Towed every other kind of ATV out there. Started right up after sitting for months. Only thing I did to it was maintenance, a front axle, bushings and bearings. I just sold it a couple of months ago with 13500k and it was running as good as the day I bought it.
My magnum 500 goes 63 lol
Cool
Awesome video man, and nice challenge, you did a nice job! Haha You should do more eating challenges, maybe trying to eat 12 tacos next! Haha Take care! :)
Ooohhh man, its sooo cool to see how excited this young man is to be on his first bike!!!! Feels like the whole world is right at your fingertips waiting to be whipped!!! Well? Don't it???
You sarcastic bastard
I brought my wifey the same one last year&she loves it 2004 700 prairie very low hours&miles for 3000 not 3500 it's fast as hell&she wouldn't trade it for nothing else lol thanks for your video.
Nice im glad she likes it I do too!
I knew your name sounded familiar…my dad sold you that atv in 2018 I think it was
New spark plugs cleaning the carb and adjusting the air fuel mixture fixed mine
Hey so what does this box do exactly i just picked up a prairie 700? Also where did you buy it?
I got the non-programmable ignition module. Here's a link to their website, where they describe the features and what it does. I could explain it but I don't want to type anymore lol dynaonline.com/products/atv/dyna-fs-ignitions.aspx
Do you still have this? If so, wondering what your long term thoughts are. And also very curious if you had to re-jet your carb?
Yeah I still got it! This 4 wheeler has been the most reliable one I've owned. Still runs strong even though its 16 years old! And nope, never had to re-jet it. Just plugged the new CDI (The Dynatek) in and drove it. Flawless!
@@hansentom50 sweet. thanks for reply. i think ill grab me one. happy trails bro.
Just sold mine at 13500km. Still running strong. They are unicorns. Hard to find but worth it. Only thing that aged poorly is the suspension. Don't usually need to rejet unless you played with the intake and exhaust. If you have trouble, clean the carb thoroughly.
That thing ripped!
Is the drill on hammer?
Nope this is a DeWalt 18v drill it has no hammer option
Still using it?
Yup!
Did you do the seafoam treatment before you did the oil change or after?
Before
My 650 will do 70, I’m assuming it’s because I’ve got a race clutch
andon air keep in mind I was driving on looser gravel and the original and not very aggressive tires
it needs a carburetor tune mine is stock and will hit 65mph without whatever dynatek is. I hope you bought it as a repair not an upgrade. try to adjust the air fuel mixture the screws are on the right side of the carbs good luck:) happy riding
Renea Naron I bought it for power. Runs and drives fine with the stock CDI box. And I've gotten it up to 68mph but on asphalt. This gravel was loose and tires weren't aired up to the right pressure. I farm so I haul many things with this wheeler so I needed more power but thanks for watching and commenting
Did it make a difference? Nice prarie... I love mine...
@@hansentom50 If you still want a bit more power, try finding a crossover intake for it. Next best thing after the CDI. Even better if you change up the intake and exhaust. They have crazy low-end power when you let the engine breathe.
My brute 650 only hits 92kmh
Didn't mention, and you most likely noticed, the speedo don't work. Lol. I got the speed sensors just gotta replace the bad ones
---------------UPDATE!!!!!---------------- Fixed the damned problem lol air fuel mixture was WAY off in both carbs..bad...like 5 or 6 turns out bad lol...it was worked on by a guy before me and wow....well there was a different spark plug than the other one (this is a V Twin so there's 2 pistons so that requires 2 plugs) and it was gapped WAY too much lol replaced both them and gapped them correctly. And I had to install the air box so the vacuum system would operate properly.....it DOES sputter a WEE bit but I have a feeling that has to do with the ignition coils.....maybe another day lol But now I have a new problem.....I installed a new belt and it.....acts like the belt is maybe too wide? and the primary clutch grabs it when switching gears and I can hear the belt squeal....it's the right belt for sure.....any ideas? leave a comment!! I'll make a new video here as soon as I can
The belt will always grab a little when it’s in gear its happened on my 02 through 3 different belts cvts have come a ways since then
@@nickparlee this was from years ago, turned out to be a cracked diaphragm which caused a vacuum leak inside the carb. All fixed. Runs good
@@hansentom50 bro when I got my praire torn the carb the previous owner omg nightmare different parts in it to make it worse the fuel air mixture screw on one side completely stripped just my luck 😂 those carbs or not cheap I want to buy a carb but what if that was not the problem smh
cool vid i subscribed will u subscribe me
Does your Speedo Flash? or if you have an A2 model is the belt light on? Mine was acting similar but mine it looked like the carbs were out of sync, it turned out to be a badly worn out cam it wasn't exhausting so it would blow back into the carb. I had to rebuild the engine. Now that I did rebuild it, it was running rough until I reset the belt trigger. You could also check the little screw in the bottom of carbs that is the fuel flow valve. The book says it should be 2 1/4 turns out. then try adjusting from there. Those screws are on the float side.
Pelonius the speedo don't flash so it ain't in limp mode and it don't have a belt light...maybe a vacuume leak??
Pelonius it ran.....let's say decent before I rebuilt the carb lol but it had only half the speed I could get it up to maybe 40 and 45 down hill
Pelonius I replaced the plugs and it ran 40 no problem on a flat surface
it idles okay
Did you ever fix it? Mine has same exact problem
