My Walkabout
United States
Приєднався 24 січ 2012
I’ve wandered this Earth by myself for as long as I can recall, looking for the strange and unusual. I try to find places few have ventured to, from majestic mountains to far off oceans. These videos journal my travels, experiences, heartbreaks and joy. One day this may all make sense, if only to me.

Between Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon is a stretch of open public lands where people build and live off the grid. Via #hipcamp you can find and stay in many of these places if you are willing to forego TV, internet, and indoor plumbing.

First Water

First hike of 2024 in the Sonoran desert was up First Water. A trail system just past Lost Dutchman State Park that is free to hikers. With my 10 year plan to save before hopefully retiring, any way to save pennies while still getting outside is a bonus.

Have you heard of Holbox Island? Drive about three due north of Cancun, then catch a 30 minute ferry and you'll find a little slice a Mexican paradise. #holbox

Ever since moving to Arizona in 2016, I've been going to Diamondbacks baseball games. Dreams came true in 2023 when I was able to go to some post season home games during our teams run to win the World Series. Unforgettable!
Sandpoint Idaho

First time in Sandpoint Idaho. Went for a quiet birthday celebration in a refurbished fire watchtower. Epic, peaceful, and a great place to capture a great nighttime time lapse of this area. #sandpoint
So good! What a treat to camp there.. the cloud movement at the end is incredible. Great video ✌
As free as you can be.
What a waste of 2+ minutes

No talking, just epic scenery. Well done 🤗
What a great looking hostel!!
Hi there, Really cool video. I’m so intrigued by this Gypsy wagon stay. Is there a lamp in the Gypsy Wagon? Or are the light strips on the sealing the only source of light? How many electrical outlets? Did you have issues with bugs? How was the bedding, comfy? Pillows? Is there four standard pillows or two pillow and two throw pillows? Anything else you can think of to share about your stay in the Gypsy Wagon? Thanks I’m advance. 😊
Hi there, thanks for stopping by and checking out this video. I'll try to answer the best I can from recollection. No lamp, but I had a battery operated coleman lantern with me. There was light strips though, but they weren't very bright. I don't think there was an electrical outlet, but there was a USB port for my phone. No bugs but I was there in December. I was surprised by how comfortable the bedding was, although it was simple. Just a couple of pillows, but the mattress was foam. I wouldn't stay more than one night due to jhow simple it was, but it was a fun experience. They do have cabins as well that I've stayed in for more than one night. Those have electrical outlets, but you do need to maintain your our fire in a stove during the winter. The firewood though is provided and right outside the cabin. Hope this helps!
@@mywalkabout Thanks. Very helpful. Is there a heater in the Gypsy Wagon? Extra blankets?
@@denme5 There was a heater and a bin with extra blankets :)
@@mywalkabout Thanks again.
Hope to retire here, sick of the world
pretty intense music
You still follow this channel? ❤️
Cool I actually work there
Very good shooting. If you can update your cover or titles, your channel deserved surly more audience.

I wish I could recall the name, but I can't.
Can you tell us what month day and year you did this summit? Just curious about the weather timing.
Hi there. I climbed in August 2022. 3rd week of the month, but I don’t recall the exact day.
@@mywalkabout Thanks! I will be doing it in the middle of August this year. Looks like I better bring some warm clothing and rain gear. Thanks again for the reply! Great video sir!!

Awesome video! Love the song at the beginning. Peaceful area. New follower here. Crow✌️
Wowww So beautiful 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I grew up on Boustead's Hill ( Greylags ). Shame you showed none of it. If you want to be successful on UA-cam, do two things: 1. Talk.... 2.Explain Until then you will have 15 subscribers. Your videography skills are very good, but you have to drag people in. For example, and for your much needed education, check out Scotty's Gone Walkabout, Mark Wiens, TrekTrendy or even KoreanEnglishman. Your videography is so good but you have no other reason for people to watch because you don't tell them why...
