Can I ask how you managed to get the aerial off? I saw you said you used a special device from Pure radio. Would you mind explaining how you did it as I’m having great trouble getting mine off? Many thanks

I was just given one of these. The FM antenna has pulled out. I am guessing it is soldered inside somewhere and runs out of the same hole as the power cord?

A slight correction, Bush/Alba as a company no longer exists having been bought by Argos and today part of Sainsbury's. It's nothing more than a name stuck on cheap Chinese made products and sold exclusively through Argos and Sainsbury's.

I can see a problem with fitting an aerial to that type of socket when it is on the side. The aerial will not stay upright because of the weight. So maybe bring it out a bit with adapters of some sort to clear the handle and fix it upright with a velcro strip round the handle or a blob of Blu Tack.

I used to do this as a business. Better to add the fittings once the fabric has been totally finished.

My Roberts play 20 has rechargeable batteries but cost considerably more..

Exactly the same interface that’s on my Majority internet radio except I have a CD player too. Well I did, the thing packed up after a year. Just flashes and makes a crackling sound when I plug it in.

Ive recently taken an interest in The Spirit of St Louis merch i have a spirit of st Louis radio alarm clock the (one in the wooden case ) on the way. I have tried in vein to find out who makes them but had no luck , any clue ?

Much prefer my old Roberts RM 40, the Sony is good receiver but audio quality is just rubbish compared to the Roberts.

I was given one of these recently, it was very mucky but cleaned up well and is in almost perfect condition. However, mine had one transistor with 'tin whiskers' which meant having to remove and take apart the IF module (a fiddly job that's not easy). The module had 2 AF116 transistors and one AF115. The 116s were both OK but the 115 had shorts, so I soldered the ebc wires together and shoved 50 volts between them and the case, that cleared the shorts, so the set now works on all bands (only FM worked, before). Whilst I was in the module I changed the 5 electrolytics as they all tested leaky. It's a nice set, but a shame they opted for those horrid 'modules' and then made them so hard to get at!

As a big fan of Radio Caroline, I want one of these to pull in 648kHz here in the Midlands. And it might even pull Manx Radio in on 1368kHz too, although I can't get it in the car here

The UK should have gone DAB+ from the very start.

His big brother the CRF 220 / 230 are the king off the radio according to Sony in their ad ! I do have them both, and they are exeptional radio's , but i have also the CRF 150 and 160 and they are good as well The CRF 230 Price in first year of sale: 2,998.00 DM !!

Lovely radio, I have the R606-MB . Wish my model had a line in so I could play my phone thorough it so as to future proof it when FM transmitters are switched off in 2030

I have got the old model of this R 700 it is mint 18v brilliant sound and would never part with it 📻
