How does the neck feel? I have small hands 🙌 and was consider getting this but I’m not sure 🤔

Fantastic sound!

The tones between the two guitars can be subjective and personal preference. However, the better playability and feels of the custom guitar are what make it different from the standard one.

now that is a beauty! I just bought the 1 Piece top 5A maple Custom from Gibson, and while I love it... I still have the bug for an all black... so I might just pay the $6200 and have two Customs!

It looks the business that’s for sure… love the gold hardware…. I have seen some of 68 reissues ( well reissues of actual 1968 69 reissues ) and sometimes they sound as good or better than the real 68s.( I know a man with an original.) They do wear and age a lot. I like the new ones!

I’m looking into one or the other, the sound difference is negligible so my choice is now purely dependent on price and looks. I gotta consider if I’ll be happy with my choice once said and done.

Nothing sounds like a custom. Clarity, tone, feel, looks you name it. I sold all my les pauls and got a 2023 model with ebony fretboard and long tenon. Never regret selling my 90s LP Classic and Standard cause the custom can do what those guitars do and much more plus you just wana look at that taxido. They don't call it dream guitars and holy grails for nothing.

Gibson Standard = Worhorse gutiar, a guitar for jamming, everyday use, recording all the time, gigs and live performance. Custom = can be used as a live perfomrmance guitar and recording guitar but you want to keep it condition mint there off it is more of a showoff and decoration than an everyday use guitar.

The regular custom shop les paul custom has the 498T/490R matched pickups... Do you notice alot of different in the 68 custom pickups that are inside your guitar?

I thought the standard sounds better. It was warm and smooth. The custom, Les Paul to me, was a little harsh. I Believe that sometimes the clarity of the one guitar translates into harshness… But that’s just my two cents and it doesn’t mean anything

カスタム、スタンダード、それぞれのイメージ通りのサウンドでした！ 深めに歪ませる時はカスタム、もう少し少ない歪みの時はスタンダードでウォームな感じにしたいなぁ〜って思いました

The custom has a clarity to it but the standard has that sweet midrange crunch to it. It'd use the custom for jazz fusion, metal and prog, and the standard for sleezy bluesy hard rock.

No right or wrong here. Just two different flavors of Les Paul, both equally delicious.

I love the standard, and it's supposed to have superior pick-ups, but my ears prefer the 490/498T combo. I didn't grow up in the '60s, so my ears are accustomed to listening to '90s rocked-filled rifts of Gibson Customs loaded with the 490/498T combos. I'll be buying a 2020s Gibson Custom in the future.

Hi. Also the guitar specs change. A Custom ought to (maybe) have a mahogany top rather than maple. And how the humbuckers are speced. Lots of variations!
