The Hunt Valley Wind Ensemble (HVWE), Maryland’s newest community band, was founded in 2016 by Jenn Ambrosiano. The band is a non-profit, all volunteer organization which is sponsored by the Cockeysville Recreation Council in Baltimore County, Maryland. HVWE performs under the direction of Matthew T. Benner, a percussionist and music teacher in the Baltimore County School System. Ryan Pilius, also a Baltimore County high school instrumental music teacher, serves as the band’s assistant conductor.
HVWE is made up of 70 musicians and has been growing steadily since the band’s inception. The band’s main repertoire includes grade 4 - 6 pieces with the majority of music being grade 5. Concerts are performed throughout the year, including formal indoor concerts as well as outdoor concerts. There are no auditions and rehearsals are year-round on Monday evenings. The band is a member of the Association of Concert Bands (ACB) as well as the local Cockeysville Recreation Council

Hi, Is there someplace I can purchase this arrangement for my elementary school concert band? I would love to try it with them :)
Très sympa ! Où puis-je me procurer la partition ?
I heard this song last night at the Richmond band. Christmas Concert, it took my breath away, absolutely beautiful, it's my new favorite relaxing song ❤
I appreciate the slower tempo
LETS GO JAMES

This is wonderful! Thanks!!!!
This was a fun one!

Huh in my band, the trumpets get the main melody
0:25
this is awesome
I played this song in band in 2013 in bernalillo new Mexico. It is by far my favorite and most memorable song from high school band. We played in a state adjudication and placed well. Thanks to my band director Bo Rogers. This song sticks in my memory. I was a tuba player at this time and band class helped me realize my passion for music.
It sounds weird at times. Maybe it's just my sound.
This is not Lassus and the previous commenter is entirely correct - this is music of Johann Pezel. Please correct this.
Nice drumming
The song was written for my best friend's daughter, Maddie. She was an amazing soul, full of life, mature beyond her years. Our high school's director commissioned Mr. Standridge to write a tribute to her. He captured her beautifully, and you have honored her with your performance. Thank you for the heart with which it was performed. I miss her deeply, and I will go tell it on the mountain how beautifully you performed her tribute.
This sounds like Johann Pezel, not Orlande De Lassus. What gives?
This is a terrible rendition of that song. I'm sorry but it's true.
Yeah.... Hopefully it sounded better there, the recording is definitely sub par.
I'll give them credit for doing it, though. It's not a professional orchestra, the tempo is too slow and stage isn't miced properly. But it's still a catchy tune brought to you by the talented Danny Elfman.
That trumpet is absolutely TERRIBLE! Very often trumpets are the weak link in Big Bands. 99% suck at anything remotely high but they still try it. Please stop!
wheres all of this aggression from, these people are performing for their friends and family as you can see in the audience. and saying that it was just the trumpet underperforming is tunnel vison. the whole band could improve as a whole but thats not what their there for. there their for fun, so maybe consider therapy instead of taking out your anger problems online?
@@baro5783 Not aggression it's a critique. Trumpet players should play within their range. No one wants to hear loud out of tune trumpets. It really wrecks the performance and it's very inconsiderate.
@@baro5783I gotta agree with him I always practice the most that I can get every little detail right the style notes tuning articulation breathe in right areas etc before I even think about having fun
Thank you
Hey guys... the actual composer of this song left you a comment, just sayin' (Chuck Love is Charles Erickson)!
OMG- this is so beautiful.
Thank you so much for nailing the arrangement of our song!
THANK YOU!!! It was very well received by both the audience and band members alike! Also, do we have the information about the piece correct? I see the comment below and just want to be sure we are giving the correct credit. :-)
Hunt Valley Ensembles . Yes all info correct. I love the key shift, and percussion dude who scurries over to hit timpani!
cool
😍😍
Enjoyed this very much. Audience obviously did not understand the significance of this unique opus by Leroy Anderson . He would have been impressed by the level of performance of this musical organization.
<Netflix Servo Voice>...... and no one on that stage has seen a single episode. It's like when you see that the composer for Terminator is like some geeky modern day Mozart type. And it's like "That guy would NEVER pay to see a Terminator movie! How'd he get to score one?" Or maybe that's the genius of it all. The fact that you expect to see some Trent Reznor type scoring something badass like Terminator, but no. That's just NOT how life works, is it? No matter how edgily cool we think the world gets, it's still the geeks who run things. I could go on all day.....
Brade or Holbourn?
My school jazz band is learning this right now. I like listening to it too much, ha-ha.
band: let's tune to 442Hz Flutes: 432Hz? Okay
Wonderful!
This is amazing
Nice job !
🤩🤩🤩
Nice Job! I hope the performers and audience enjoyed it - Randall Standridge, composer "With Every Winter's Breath"
Thank you so much! It's a beautiful piece!
Beautiful performance, folks. Only wish it was the original band scoring. This one left out all the muted trumpet fanfares! And dumbed down the rhythms to boot! So disappointing. Pity the original band arrangement is permanently out of print!
I've been on here for over 12 years. This is the first time my name has been used in a title.
Wonderful Soloist!!!!
Literally tooting your own horn.
