Sunday morning, my son just left for Jeff Jordan's camp, and we are so excited for him to take his skills up another notch. He's 13 and has been training since the end of last season. Last season he missed the state podium by one point. In the lead the whole match, he gave up 2 points with a few seconds to go. My wife and i were proud of him. You could tell he was heartbroken, but he never made excuses, never shed a tear. We went back to the hotel that night after chearing on his teammates and he started training. We have a small group that weight trains together, and we all wrote our goals on the wall (its our home gym). Everyone wrote pr's they wanted to hit, or the number they wanted their trackwrestling record to be. Some had long lists of goals. He wrote 2 words. STATE CHAMP. This camp is just part of his journey. If anyone wants to watch his matches and some of the training he does, as well as some fun kid stuff, check out his new UA-cam channel. All you have to do is search HITSQUAD WRESTLING and click on his channel. Come follow his journey. His first few years he stayed humble and in great spirits, even as the losses piled up. Last year he only lost a few matches, but stayed just as humble. He's an underdog for sure, but thats what made Rocky so fun to watch,right? Take care and keep grinding

I went last year and we had it for 25 minutes, he was right about finding that rhythm. It doesn’t get any easier though, you just stop thinking and hit those shots as hard as you can. The toughest part about the drill is the obble drill and getting up fast after getting taken down.

I like watching John's videos on wrestling with my 12 year old son. Great teacher of the sport,but hearing that he a fellow hunter make me like him even more.
