Eu sempre gostei mais da Lizzie do que da Josie ou da Hope. Lizzie lembra muito a Caroline nas primeiras temporadas de TVD. O ciúmes que a Lizzie sente da Hope com o Alaric é totalmente compreensível. Alaric claramente tratava Hope diferente, levando ela pra missões, dando treinamento separado pra ela e tudo mais. Até eu fiquei incomodada com isso. No primeiro episódio o Alaric disse que se a Lizzie fizesse amizade com Hope ele daria treinamento em grupo, mas isso é uma besteira. Ele podia muito bem pegar a Josie e a Lizzie e dar treinamento separado para cada uma. Assim ele passaria mais tempo com as filhas e ajudaria nos problemas que cada uma tem separadamente.
ppl forget Lizzie was known as a mean girl at the beggining of legacies that's why penelope was meaner to her (doesn't mean she was right) and josie has a high co-dependency but lizzie took advantage of that.
That’s when I started disliking Penelope like how do you talk like that with someone who’s not in the right state of mind to defend herself ? If Jo is fine with not standing up for herself against her own sister that’s up to her you have no right to “ do it for her “ .
Atleast they could use Valerie as teachers to teach lizzy how to be stable ❤❤😂
I don't see her as being bipolar, but just having bad days. Keeping secrets for your daughter and a guy you like telling you you're no good must suck
I had to stop watching one minute in. So far, those were just examples of being a teenage girl. There are 100 better examples that actually represent mental illness.
This is offensive. Maybe some of these scenes display some of the actions Lizzie made due to her bipolar but none of these are WHY she’s bipolar. Bipolar is due to surges and deficits in noradrenaline, serotonin and dopamine.
Penelope reminds me of some girls at my school they once made something the one who gets me having a breakdown wins lol

I think Lizzie could also have bpd, because of her intense and quick mood swings, codependency, and fear of abandonment.

I didn’t exactly like Penelope park, she in a way is a self-absorber ever since she broke up with Josie because of Lizzie, like has she never heard of “ family comes before relationships” yes Lizzie can be difficult, but in the end of the day we all have issues and despite all that she has a big heart, I mean she has her moments of despair but she also can be really smart all the time, and overall I feel like hope in a way is very arrogant as well, she likes to brag about how she’s the only tribrid, like yes we get it, and it wasn’t until Lizzie remembered her that she knew exactly the type of person Lizzie was and didn’t end up judging her, or doubting her.
I’m sorry but IMO Lizzie is more likely to have a personality disorder than being bipolar because contrary to popular belief bipolar is not a back-in-fourth state between anger and joy or sadness but long periods of down and high and a more « normal » period that can last weeks or months. And yes I’m fully aware that mental illnesses is different for everyone but there are still some criteria to fill before you’re diagnosed and it’s a lot more complicated than it seems. But again that’s just my opinion and I’m not trying to offend anyone 😁 and this is coming from someone who suffers from personality disorder btw
Well, if she has bipolar, they could’ve show her swinging from mania to depression, each one can last months. And I know ppl deal with mental illness differently but these are the criteria. She is extremely emotional with a trigger. Like she can be fine, but something triggers her to be emotional. That’s not bipolar.

Hate the fact that everyone assumes shes a bitch and they don’t actually give her a chance. I also HATED the way Rafael treated her he just took her v-card and left her when she was there when he needed her and he bailed on her, That’s why he got what he deserved.
Not to be a psych major but Lizzie has borderline personality disorder from what I’m seeing, more than bipolar. They can go hand in hand in some aspects but Lizzie’s co-dependency, making it seem like the world revolves around her but still somehow feeling like she can’t have anything, it’s very BPD, especially coming from someone who has borderline personality disorder and sees Lizzie in myself lol. but like, what do I know lol. (Btw, youd think they’d all treat her a lil better, considering mental illnesses are the least of their concerns in a supernatural world but lmao)
I agree. In bipolar you have periods of mania and depression that can last weeks/months. It’s completely different from what she has.

As a person with bipolar disorder that is not correct even if it is confirmed. The disorder has long periods of depression and short periods of maina. If anything she has a personality disorder. HPD, BPD, ASPD, NPD thoes are more likely to fit her.
Not a professional. Maybe in your case, but I've seen posts from other people with the same diagnosis that have a more positive reaction to her character. I've also read that a period can last as little as a few hours. This video is only showing the first few episodes, so i suggest watching 1x15. Anyway, why are you comparing lizzie to kai? Sure, she's selfish, but at the same time she has no problem putting other peoples lives before her own. That includes participating in the search for dana (who was quite mean to her) without any pressure or hesitation.

@@brandenbusby257 it's possible. There is a theory I saw (might have been in this comment section) about how gemini twins occasionally share certain traits but not entire personalities. Jo had engaged in socially unacceptable behavior and openly admitted to it (stalking alaric), was not a fan of her father or coven, and found work as a doctor and surgeon, which is the perfect job for someone like kai. Lizzie has shown some kai-like traits in 1x10 and 2x04, while josie (ever since 1x12) has come off as how kai would behave if he didn't have the additional sadistic tendencies. Despite the similarities, i still don't think it's fair to label both jo and lizzie as sociopaths since the behavior is not consistent. From what I can gather, borderline has very similar symptoms to bipolar disorder, with the exception that they toggle between viewing someone as an enemy or friend, yet lizzie's opinions of people don't seem to change that rapidly. She only started being more friendly with hope because she later found out that she was wrong about her, not because of her illness. I also thought histrionic/narcissism (not sure if there's any real difference) were more likely at first, but season two (and especially the end of season one) makes it seem that she was just protecting her mental state, rather than her selfish attitude being a mental issue by itself.
TheMarkmcr TheMarkmcr I have diagnosed BPD and it seems a lot like her, based on her emotional and extreme reactions. I just wished they showed more of her episodes, like a manic episode with most of the symptoms (lack of sleep, and creativity, etc). Through this show I couldn’t really understand what bipolar is, unlike Shameless. (Just giving my opinion :) )

What I don’t get is a lot of people hate Lizzie because she’s mean. But they don’t acknowledge the fact that she’s bipolar. But Damon gets a pass because he’s hot and funny. Damon causes a lot of problems but everyone gets over what he’s done in a second. But when Lizzie is a little bit mean everyone calls her a bitch and selfish.

I really love Lizzie. Watching Legacies made me think, finally a teen show with mental illnesses done right! I have high functioning Autism myself (meaning without intellectual disability) and even though we have different disorders, I could actually relate to certain Lizzie scenes myself. Also, to anyone commenting Autism isn't a mentall illness, this is untrue. It is, that's just something Karens have made up so they could try to give their kid a pass from the stigma, which I find absolutely disgusting behavior.
I mean autism isn't scientifically speaking a "mental illness", it's a neurological disability which, though very similar to some extent, is not the same thing. It's not disgusting to say so as long as you come up with valid arguments lmao. And saying so doesn't invalidate what you're going through you're just missing people's point

People think that I’m crazy bcuz I tried to commit suicide. But they do not think well why does she want to do it. If they think hard Nd clear they will be able to see how shitty they treat me. I got bullied for 8years str8. Nd I exploded I couldn’t take it no more. The school was gonna call the ambulance to take me away bcuz I wanted to kill my self. I ran out of the office I ran away from everybody juss cryin Nd running. Ppl think I’m crazy Nd I juss wanted attention but they don’t understand wat happens to me to make me do these things. So I understand wat Lizzie is going thru. So when ppl hate on her it pisses me off. I have a sibling that literally told me to kill myself that the world would be happy if I’m dead. It's probably because not everyone who is in your situation is suicidal. Mental illness isn't always a bad thing anyway.

I hate how everyone seems to forget that these are all teenagers and that Lizzie is a bipolar teenager with magical powers that are tied to her emotions. Penelope, at 16/17 years old has no right to try and sabotage the one support system Lizzie has in Josie- especially when Caroline is gone and Alaric is constantly running off with Hope and keeping secrets from her. I never understood how Penelope came to feel like she knew what was best for Josie (who is more than capable of standing up for herself) or how she came to the conclusion that antagonizing her emotionally vulnerable and fragile bipolar sister was what was best. And, yet, somehow Posie is somehow the "best relationship".

I find it so funny that we can be one hundred percent understanding of someone who has depression or anxiety, but not mental illnesses that make people lash out. To my understanding, bipolar disorder makes you codependent, insecure, and EMOTIONAL. Your feelings swing left and right, if it’s hard for you to deal with, imagine how the person with the disease feels. And when Josie blamed her for not taking her medication I got mad. No one likes feeling numb, or like a zombie, and that’s mostly what medication does I assume. Feeling nothing at all is so much worse than feeling everything. People seriously need to be more understanding of her. Geez

I’ve never heard of bipolar disorder making you codependent bipolar is having manic and depression episodes which you would be insecure about but I’m not sure ( not a psychologist) that it’s directly connected also never heard it being described as a disorder that makes you “lash out” people do get angry in episodes of mania though so I imagine that’s what that was showing. I do understand how Josie got upset that Lizzie wasn’t taking her meds because meds do make you feel pretty shit but you can be dangerous without them and it’s your responsibility to not put people around in any sort of danger it also puts a lot of strain on another family member if you do that I’ve seen it I really want surprised when Josie snapped under pressure I’ve seen people say to not forget Lizze is a teenager but you can’t forget Josie is one too.

@@gingerninja4237 Well, perhaps bipolair doesn't immediatly come with codependency, but people with mental illnesses do tend to have codependency issues. Sometimes, they are unfit to take care of themselves and need a caretaker. If this caretaker is a relative or someone else they have a long-term relationship outside of the caretaker role, then it creates a bond that can easily turn into co-dependency. Josie was Lizzie's caretaker because Alaric was too busy running the scchool to be Lizzie's, and because they already are twins, this is the perfect recipe to create co-dependency.

Sure, she's growing on me, BUT I still remember how she didn't sense Josie was in danger, whereas Josie immediately understands when Lizzie is in trouble.

Josie seems darker underneath than Lizzie. You can see all of Lizzie...tantrums and all. Josie represses all her emotions and hides her resentment. This adds fuel to her darker side which comes out sometimes as we see in season 2.
