1971 Honda CB500-Four first start after sitting 40 years

First startup clip of the '71 Honda CB500-Four. This bike had been sitting for about 40 years, last registered in 1982. I did a frame up resto on the bike over about 18 months. The engine is all original. I cleaned the carbs in a sonic bath, and bench synched them. Amazing that it ran perfect the first time I hit the start button with no other tuning.

Run For The Hills 2024 - Boulder Basin

We led a few adventurous Willys up to Boulder City after the 2024 Run For The Hills in Stanley, Idaho. It snowed most of the day, but cleared off for our picnic up at the old Mill site. Most of the video is in the technical spot I call the "Gate Keeper", a deep wash with a granite waterfall. I didn't get video of everyone, but some of the guys on the trip are posting too.

@@jasontaylor3046 The wagon is completely original and stock with the exception of rear locker, Saturn Overdrive, Weber carb.

@@jasontaylor3046 No, but thinking pretty seriously about doing a Holley Sniper system

@@jasontaylor3046 I've had a number of different carbs. The Weber is infinitely adjustable, which means infinite adjustments to try and get it dialed in just right. It never seems to run perfect in all situations. The sniper might just be the solution.
I’ve been running these tires on my class 11 style beetle. Off road these tires are fantastic. They claw through mud and do well in deep sand. The skinny tire looks right on an old rig. My only two concerns are that these tires are not good on wet paved roads, and they seem to wearing out quickly.

Thank God someone has done it. I'm buying a chang jiang cj750 this year and I'm planning on a shitty ural engine, but I'm glad to see someone made the R750 Beemer fit in. Could you tell me how you did it man I could really really use the the help. Any and all tips are welcome

You didn't go very far out before turning around. I've driven that entire trail and even though the car I drive every day has a clutch I was glad my Jeep had a torque converter. Also I would hate to be that far away from civilization and have a carburetor that wouldn't cooperate.
Went as far as we could to still get back to our base camp by dark. I'd love to go back and camp in the park next time, to drive the whole trail. Definitly not a place to travel alone in a vintage Jeep...

This is in the maze district of Canyonlands National Park. It's a very remote area, at the beginning of the video they are almost 100 miles from the nearest gas station.

The car has a Borg-Warner automatic overdrive. It wasn't a factory option in 1950, but was a few years later. I sold this car in 2010, still miss it.

very enjoyable video nice wagon used to have one as a teenager with a chev 230 six.thats the way fourwheeling was like years ago just enjoy the scenerie and not beat the crap out your four wheel drive or the countyside

I think all of our little rigs did a lot better than the big boys thought they would. Some of the comments I overheard were great. looks like you missed Jesse and I making that first ledge, but I think Jeff caught us in the act. I wanna do this one again next year! I ordered my new 2021 willy's jeep gladiator in sarge green and with the manual transmission, tan heated seats, factory spray on bedliner, dual tops, and soft bed cover that's made from the same material as the soft top. It's fun to drive. I've had it for almost 3 years. 😊
Working on a '62 for a friend/customer with the hurricane 6. it's been painted the same tan color over the original turquoise. i'm trying to convince him to repaint it back to original. the turquoise is cool!
Mine was originally green, some spots are showing through the white repaint done many years before I bought it.
