Dr. Watson is an internationally recognized expert on quality, reliability, and industrial and systems engineering. He is a past-President of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the International Academy for Quality (IAQ) and has been a Senior Vice President of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). He has been named a Juran Fellow, Member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS). Dr. Watson has received over 50 career recognitions for his work including the first award of the W. Edwards Deming Medal by the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) to a non-Japanese recipient - the W. Edwards Deming Distinguished Service Award for Promotion and Dissemination (Overseas) in 2009. He has also been named an honorary member by 20 organizations related to quality including both ASQ and IAQ. Dr. Watson received his doctorate in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
