I'm a Southern lad born and bred but always felt this connection with Newcastle and its music - always loved the Animals, High Level Ranters, Lindisfarne - every time I've been there its felt like coming home. Can you be a Geordie born 400 miles too far south?🙂

How excellent this video is. I regularly went and saw the John Steel Animals line up, friendly bloke. All I had the courage to do was thank him with a handshake with a meet and greet after the concert. Always wanted to ask him if the Club Agogo still existed, or indeed some sort of Animals museum in Newcastle. But I didn't have the courage. Awesome that Hilton just did in this video for us. Awesome!

I was fortunate to see and meet Hilton several times. I got to go to his birthday party and gave him a winning lottery ticket. Got this CD autographed to me. Love his sound and his band. A working class hero is something to be. RIP Hilton.

The Animals were the greatest. I agree with Bruce tho I never was a big fan of his. "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" is one of the greatest rock records ever.

My god he spoke to me and my son when we were looking at guitars in windows music shop a few years ago he told my son he sounded good and to keep practicing which he did at the time I had a feeling he was somebody of note but he never let on who he was.

Makes me proud to be a Newcastle born geordie and the words of the song speak to me.

Some of the most important music goes unheard until you pass I wish I could have heard u perform this in concert will never forget HV

Ive been listening to "House of the Rising Sun" for just short of sixty years and thinking thats some great guitar there. Then when I finally make the effort to "check out" who the guitarist was, the guy has passed on. RIP Hilton. Your music lives on though - Im still listening!
