I cannot understand why everyone simply takes Rav Moshe's teshuva that living in eretz yisrael is a mitzva kiyumis without looking into the matter themselves. Once anyone looks into the matter, they see, Rav Moshe is practically a unique opinion and that there is a long list of Rishonim and Achronim who do not agree. It seems our great master Rav Moshe's words are puzzling in relation to the Vilna Gaon (Yoreh Daeh 267:84, Biur HaGra 161) and the Pischei Teshuva (Even Hezer 75:3,4) and the Ramban (Sefer Hamitzvos by the Rambam Addition to Positive Mitzvos not listed by the Rambam Number 4), the Rambam (Hilchos Melachim 5:12), The Cuzari, the Chida, The Sefer Chareidim, Rav Yaakov Emden, The Chasam Sofer, the Chofetz Chaim, the Chazon Ish, Rav Meir Simcha from Dvinsk, Rav Elchonon Spector, Rav Moshe Shapiro, the Tashbetz and the Rashbash, the Mabit, Maharam Shik, and more. The list that do not mention anywhere the idea the obligation (mitzva) is voluntary, is a staggering list of the greatest contemporary poskim one could list. So, to simply say in a standoff way that the halacha is like Rav Moshe instead of the above list, is simply staggering. One need not be afraid to say over the halacha as the Chazon Ish learns, as the Mabit learns, as the Vilna Gaon learns and poskeins clearly without doubt, there is no need to apologize for the obligation or to turn it into one that is voluntary, it is clear that most poskim hold it is an absolute obligation with some specific exemptions. So, before you think Israel is simply voluntary, research the poskim on the issue and make it clear that a daas yachid does not outweigh the consensus of the greatest Rishonim and Achronim one can assemble, no matter how great that Rav was. It is only meant for those specific talmidim of that particular Rav to follow, since they follow him in all matters, not just the ones they find CONVENIENT to follow. Which is why it is a great disservice to the Jewish people to simply quote Rav Moshe on the mitzva of living in Israel and leave out all of the above list, which is overwhelming and clearly the majority opinion that it is OBLIGATORY to live in Israel, and anyone who without clear exemptions not to fulfill this obligation is holding back our redemption as a people as it says many many places, start with Yuma 9B, Sukka 52B, Brachos 57A, and Kesuvos 110B. I have so many places it will be exhaustive to list them here, but the approach to Israel has to be one of obligation, not icing on a cake of Torah.
It is a machlokes Rishonim whether it is applicable in our days.
@@micman8881 Name me a Rishon who disagrees, and do not tell me the Rambam because the Megillas Esther opinion that according to the Rambam there is no mitzva has been long discarded and is not part of Shulchan Aruch.
@@micman8881 When you have almost every single Rishon on one side and a Daas Yachid on the other, it is not a "machlokes Rishonim", it is halacha that it is an obligatory mitzva and one Daas Yachid who says it is not obligatory that we do not paskin by

Rabbi its for the challenge. If it were easy then everyone could do it.
Nice soundtrack! Please contact me when you are able. sam@samglaser.com.
You need to reshoot it to include the new playground in the old Shchuna.

What a fantastic video! Chazak! The dedication at the end brought tears to my eyes.
Very nice. Enjoyed R Orlofsky's bubbly delivery. Getting into the Tisha B'Av mood. Thank you R Orlofsky. Avi Dobuler, Israel Tour Guide, also Israel Combat Shooting and Counter Terror Instructor

well done izzy was nice to see you in staten island
Great stuff from God's Capital of Israel and the World and the Cosmos...
Would God REALLY get that annoyed if you wore a THREE-cornered garment with the items the rabbi mentions? Or a four-cornered one without the items? I mean, come onnnn, surely the Creator has better things to do with his time than get all annoyed because you're dressed a certain way. Is being a good person not enough?!! Why are the young turning away from religion, people ask. Well, the main reason is that many aspects of orthodox religions are ILLOGICAL, POINTLESS AND SILLY, and increased literacy and better education has exposed these facts to a wider view. That's true of all faiths. The messages of love and virtue aside, it's ALL NONSENSE. Trust me, God does not give a tinker's damn if you have curly hairlocks or whether you avoid eating a certain animal or whether you're facing an arbitrary city in the Middle East when you're flattering him for the 19th time in two days. That's man's idea of God, not God. An insipid, fatally limited vision of an entity whose nature and form and power is so beyond our comprehension as to be utterly unknowable. *Just be nice to each other.* That's all you need to do!
Brilliant. Such a powerful message and transmitted with humour and sensitivity.
Thank you for posting
