@Laumskie Dicky got stuck in a turtleneck pullover in 1965. They had to call 06-11 emergency number and get the fire-department over to his house and cutt him out of his pullover sweater. He almost suffocated during that incident. "Dicky is dead" is an urban legend alleging that Dicky Curtis died in 1965 during the "Turtleneck incident" and was replaced by a look-alike and sound-alike. After all this commosion involving the incident, Dicky started a new band called: Pullover.
Gaika Gorkish also introduced a complex dance move called: The Wave. Recently "The Wave" has been re-introduced by singer-songwriter Rinus from Holland. He can be seen performing "The Wave" in the hit-single "Here in the disco". Paul Weller is also a famous performer of "The Wave". The Modfather can be seen doing it during many of his concerts.
Dicky played with the band Gaika Gorkish in the Canisius factory in Schinnen, somewere in the late 70ties. Gaika Gorkish were a late 1970s supergroup consisting of Dicky Curtis, George Harrison, Boyo Pfeifer, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Ruud Appelhof. The band recorded two albums during the two years they were together.
The bass player in Dicky's band The Cunters was called They Laumen. This man was a propper legend to. The Cunters were a band from 1982 - 1987 and played mosty acid-britpop, its been said that bass player Mani from the Stone Roses was heavily influenced by They Laumen and took over his playing style on the bass guitar. They Laumen went on to become a football-scout. He discovered Tommie Daemen among others. Some say he will be the next Piet de Visser.
Thomahawk gig in '72 was legendary stuff!!! There was at that time a rumour spredding that Steve Marriott would replace Dicky Curtis in The Nod. Dont now if you remember that? Struck me most about Dicky Curtis was his magical dissapearence from the scene in the period: '91/ '96. Nobody knew were he was those years, including himself.
If you can upload The Nods most famous song: Never talkin' anyway, I would be stoked, love that song, but its almost nowhere to be found. The intro goes something like this: "Never talkin' anyway" and then "your wife" .... its a song about women, The Nod wrote mostly songs about women.
Dicky Curtis played in numerous bands: The Nod, Double Trust, The Liquid Turfwars, Torka Express, The Cunters, Rumbletongue, Gaika Gorkish, Mush, Pullover, Mander China and Tjakkas, among others.
Laumski, could you please upload more original songs from Dicky Curtis?
This is a cover, the original song is played by Dicky Curtis & The Nod. That being said, thanx for loading it up Laumski!!!
