He could’ve forked the knight and queen and saved his rook
You mean white could have forked? Sorry, I'm having trouble finding exactly where you're talking about
When the queen took the pawn on f2 you could’ve forked the queen and the knight by bringing the rook from g1 to g2 which would’ve forced back to move their queen away and you could’ve taken the knight. If they used the queen to protect the knight, you would’ve had the chance to atleast save the rook on d1

Resigning is just admitting defeat. They lose ELO and I gain ELO from it
