Hi, Mr. Ramiro, would you please recommend materials - pens, paint, paper - for a Travel Sketchbook? Or, do you have a site that provides lists of recommended tools/materials? Please let me know. I am new to this adventure and would like to set myself up for success. Another question, how do I upcoming sketch workshops and retreats?
Hi there! Welcome to this wonderful life of travel sketching. Please join my email list for my future trips and workshops: seethelines.com/workshops_urban_sketching/ . And my recommended tools are here: seethelines.com/tools
bravo!
As someone who spent his exchange year 10 years ago in Santiago de Compostela, you’ve brought back many beautiful memories. That was the Faculty of Geography and History where I studied. I follow your work and I'm looking forward to more videos, especially those where you show yourself and speak. Are you planning to visit Canada or Turkey anytime soon? ❤️
Superb! I'm a traveling sketcher and this solidified some ideas I have had also gave me new ones.I will be digging into your youtube channel and the classes you offer. One question, do you have a video on how you fill your waterbrsuh pens with ink, and also the actual process of adding shadows first?
Hola Alan! I came across your video on Sketching Retreat 2024. Thank you so much for sharing your tips on travel sketching. I live in Cozumel, so watching you sketch at Sunset Beach was a kick.
I paused this video because I feel very strongly about what I’m about to say. If I was anywhere eating or drinking or walking, I wouldn’t want to end up in someone’s video. I also wouldn’t want to be on vacation or even down the street listening to someone “making a video” while I’m trying to enjoy my time w my family, eat a meal or take a nice walk. Am I the only one? I’m really not trying to cause trouble. I haven’t watched the video yet and by the comments, I’m sure it’s a good one! But I feel the video thing has gotten carried away and it really does make me want to just stop going out to eat and to places where other people are. What happened to privacy? What happened to respect for others? I find it frustrating. And to be honest, it’s easy enough to do voiceovers later. So why interrupt others’ time? I’m sure there are thousands of folks who will agree and thousands who will not. It’s ok. I won’t even know anyone has responded but I feel it’s a valid point. I just feel the world doesn’t revolve around me. And I also feel like someone having me in their video just violates my own ability to enjoy this world and to have privacy. Ok. On to the rest of the video. Or maybe not. There are so many others out there. I don’t say this to be controversial or to store up angst. I say this in a sincere hope that people will be nice considerate. Thirty years ago, I did not have to go into a restaurant and hear cell phone conversations on speaker phones or listen to kids’ movies or shows as I chewed my food and tried to hear my friends’ words over the music playing above me. It’s sad.
@@jessicathompson1456 hmmmm I see what you're saying. Though since I was in Mexico I had to film in a safe location. And during this time I was on a world tour on-location course sketching mission.
Your work is so beautiful and inspiring ✨🖤🌿. Will definitely give night time sketching a go 😊
Thank you for this video !!
I love this, Artist here. 😊
Thank you for sharing!! Love your book.
This is cool. Are you just using water to smear the ink you already put down or is there an ink/water mixture in the water brush?
I guess I commented too soon as it looks as it is ink in the water brush. I guess my next question is how did you ink not smear when you added the water brush immediately after?
What type of fountain pen is this ?
Beautiful 😍
❤❤❤ beautiful
❤❤❤wow beautiful
This is the worst place to draw, there’s many more interesting places in Marrakesh
The worst ? Hmm
The worst? Hmm
@@seethelines It may look different for you but you definitely missed many more interesting places that really showcase the Moroccan culture, this is just random souk in the city
Love seeing this -you gathered quite an audience 😅😊
Thank you! Great tips and wonderful sketchbook. Appreciate your sharing.
Beautiful - thank you for sharing 🙏
Can you explain your setup outside?
Nice work! I like the technique! Well done!😊👍👋👋👋
Nice
Just great
Lovely. 😊❤
Thanks. 😊❤
Okay, so on UA-cam shorts amidst tons of kids drawing trashy anime there're actually people who can draw, how refreshing
Impressive ❤
I was at that exact location last September. Your sketch brought back all the vibrancy and surprise of the magic found down any street in Lisbon. Great insight into the process!
Wonderful to hear ! Thanks for kind words. This place sure had an impact on me as I'm back to live here
You're super talented! What a fun adventure.
❤
Serendipity! I’m hoping to be in Segovia next week!
To draw on a painting, IN INK without pencil first, is AMAZING and so daring! It worked and is a beautiful piece of art.
Love it❄️
Really nice! Where is this?
I actually thought it was Salamanca and I was like 'no way!' since I am here atm. Anyways, it seems it is Segovia
Beautiful❤
Wow!! Beautiful work! Very inspiring too!
Thanks a lot !
Great experience! Are you using pelikan m250?
Put a shirt on. Nice sketch!!!
La calidad del vídeo me impresiona mucho varias tomas que ayudan
Amazing❤❤
Cool❤
I haven't, but now I want to. I have a feeling it will be more magical than daytime sketching.
Thank you a lot. It is wonderful.
Is there a tinted wash in your travel wetbrush?
Yes!
Getting rid of my fear of not getting it 'perfect' was my biggest issue. I was scared to paint then would ruin the painting trying to get it right. I started doing very quick sketches using a fountain pen and not caring if the lines were straight or I had to add a second line. Then I applied the colours loosely wet on wet , letting them spread into each other. Quite frankly, I enjoyed the process more and liked the end results better. It gives the scene a certain charm.
Amen to that! I come from an architecture design background so it's been a journey of filtering that perfectionist tendency whilst having systems for line weights and such for depth and dynamics
Being inspired by what you see and not enslaved by it is the hardest lesson to learn, in my opinion
Wow, fantastic.
great! let me know if you sketch it :)
I’ve been there years ago, really enjoy your video, brings me back to 2018, thank you!
Exact same experience recently!! I finally just said F it and stayed in a nice place my last few days. I was just tired. And I was working too
feel you!
❄💙.
