I bought my 2006 Cayman S in 2014 for $25K. It had 79k miles and no one was saying a word about bore score. It is now 10 years later with 114k miles and it uses no oil and runs like a maniac. Fear really has scared people away from these great cars. Sad.

Buying an older car is always a crapshoot. I personally assume the worst when it comes to engine condition. Almost nobody is honest when it comes to the car's overall condition, if they are the seller. No matter the make, buying a later model is always the smart move. Of course most people hang on to the newer stuff.

Actually the way that is shown that’s an old measurement. In order to get a current measurement the car has to be driven like you said until it’s up to temp for me it 194deg coolant temp and 165 degrees oil temp. After it’s up to temp you have to open the rear trunk/boot for 45 seconds until the dash says cannot read oil level at this time. After the 45 seconds close the trunk turn the key on engine off and wait 1 min while on the oil screen and the oil level will update with the current fill level. If you just open the oil menu it’s just and old measurement. It will not update unless you go through the process.

You are absolutely right about people keeping these cars. I bought a new 987.2 Boxster S in 2011, manual with all the sporty options. I don’t see any reason to upgrade it. I don’t think there is another car that’s as fun when tearing up country roads.

I just took delivery of my 991.2 turbo s yesterday. I have watched videos and listened to podcasts for years about porsche and the turbo s. It feels so surreal to know it's in my garage. I keep peeking into my garage just to look at it and make sure it's not just a dream. Nice review.

Wow and I thought my 997.2 was high spec. I would love the Burmeister, but funny thing is it has less watts than the Bose, which shows that specs don’t always tell the full story. I have the dynamic headlights and ventilated seats as well, but that two tone interior with deviated stitching looks fantastic! What was the MSRP on that car?

Is it my imagination or do 911's go for less in the UK vs other countries. This particular Targa 4S, which is almost identical to mine, would go for a lot more than 52K pounds, especially with the low milage, here in the US.
