Enjoying the video but most buttons were not in center view when you were sorting on trays. Fun fun thanks
I adore glass buttons very much ❣️
Wow! What a super neat craft room❤ I am new to button collecting and love what I have so far. Could you please share what kind of mounting board you use and possibly a source for shadow frames. I would greatly appreciate it.
And I LOVE the crusty box of postage stamps
Yes, I would have bought the wallpaper book!
I feel the same way! I buy the stuff and hoard it because it’s so unique and I save it for something special. I recently thought I need to do a no buy November …
Oh Mary you had me laughing! I feel the same way with buying stuff but it's just so much fun. You need to make packs and maybe sell them.
We have a policy that works for us one thing in one thing out. Which involves a bit of a purge, like what I haven't used in a year gets donated to make room for the new.Omg you are in St Petes I'm in Clearwater so close.I just subscribed we seem to have the same dilema lol😊
Always enjoy what up pick up. Stopping the act of collecting is very hard but your room probably is very full. I will still watch if the hauls stop for a bit🇨🇦
Look forward to see tou making journals with all this stuff
I would be willing to do a trade to help you get rid of some stamps, crocked cards, book plares....... What youd you like?
Book plates. Crooked cards ... This is so fun.
Hello Mary!! I love watching all the goodies you find!!! You always have my interest!!!! I’m always looking for Teddy Bear things!!!! Thank you !!!!! Debbie
That was a super super-haul! I took the day off to get a jump on estate sales. I go early, take my big tote bag, then I go thru my new crap to clean it and frequently end up asking myself Why did I buy this. Usually it's so crowded I rush. I'm getting better at being selective just don't ask about the piles of books or magazines. I already filled a bookcase I got at an estate sale a few weeks ago. It's crazy. LOL That monopoly set was a huge score! Loved the treasures you found. Happy crafting!
Hi Mary, I’m like you 😊 I had to stop shopping to clear my head in the process of cleaning out my craft room giving away to my craft friends, to goodwill, and selling a lot of my stuff especially what I don’t use anymore. It’s hard because I love it all but I ran out of room as well so I had to and I couldn’t concentrate anymore cause I was overwhelmed. So I know what you’re feeling. I’m almost cleared out and organized starting to feel better now. Hope you get there too. Lots of great finds you found there it was a pleasure to watch. Thank you. I’ll be here watching still not going anywhere. I’ve been watching your vids for awhile always enjoyed them. Take care. Gloria
Well said
Mary: great shopping trip. Carol from California
You can use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull out rusty pins.
Wasnt a waste. You have lots of the cases. First try gave you the idea
You're doing a great job; I chuckled when you showed the books hiding under the bed...hee hee hee! 😊
Oh i saw a Fresh Start Donut box❤️❤️❤️ Our most favorite donut shop ever!!!!
Lol! They are so good!
Beautiful!
This was so much fun! ❤❤
You are doing great & you will get your room back fresh and organized 💪👍 I will tell you something I do when I organize and decide to get rid of stuff (might give you an idea😊)... if they are not my style anymore or if I have a lot of like buttons, paperclips, ribbons...ect I take some of them and donate everything because keeping an awful so many paperclips , buttons, ribbons or whatever it will take space and it is impossible to use them all in this life 😂 I just put everything in a bag and donate them as soon as possible because I don't want to change my mind 😂 as for books I stopped buying books unless I get rid of some like if I get 2 books...I had to get rid of 2 and the same for paper...ect
It's not a sickness, it's a second hobby... collecting craft supplies and using craft supplies... two different hobbies haha. Thanks for sharing.
I love how you store your punches. It’s great that you can see them.
I think it looks great
I like the writing on the book cover
Fun stuff. Love to see what you do with this stuff
I love all those 70s patterns. Some dresses look early enough 70s to rock a pair of my go go boots
Pattern girls can be fussy cut for ephemera or to adorn a journal cover. Cute patterns.
I still have my childhood copy of “One Kitten for Kim”. I found a copy while I was thrifting & hoping to make a childhood journal with it. Loved all the other items you found.
I was going to say the same. Concentrate on one object at a time go around and collect all sewing Like things. Just gather all first then empty those things together and go thru all those and what to keep. Find one place for paper, envelopes, and do each project that way, recycle, donate to senior centers, elementary or middle school art dept. and then you’ll see the piles go down, seriously. I’ve done it. And put things back in there place after use.
Mary, if I can add something. Maybe look to putting "like with like" items. The safety pins, bulb pins could go in that sewing box, etc... Just trying to help. I know how frustrating it is when you want to hang on to things and start having issues with space. I had to take boxes that I could break down later and start putting the likes with likes then I sorted out the things I knew I wouldn't use. I know I had to take all things off of bookshelves and rework them, I've done that several times. I hope you can get thru it and get the craft space that feels good. The only other thing I can say is---LABEL EVERYTHING LOL. I'm so glad I did that.
I had never heard your Elsie connection! What a wicked good find
I really like the Numbers in Action book. The illustrations are fantastic.
I was jealous when I saw your Whitman’s price guide. Last week I saw one for Little Golden Books, but it was all black and white. If it had been in color, I would have got it in a heartbeat!
Some Nazi memorabilia is pretty beautiful too. They had great artists working for them. Just because something is “beautiful”, it doesn’t mean that it did not cause pain. And yeah, you are totally free to make your choices. It just shows what kind of person you are.
Mary: since you mentioned that this video was done in June, what does your studio look like now in September? My studio was out of control too. I just didn’t know why I didn’t put things away when I brought them into the studio. Several months ago, I started doing just that. Bring it in, put it away. And it’s working. Another thing I learned is you just can’t keep everything, although you see potential. I really have to watch myself with that. That is still an issue I’m dealing with. Reality says you won’t have time to create all these things. So,- I write the idea down and make notes about that project, knowing I’ll be able to found the item again or something like it, if I decide to make it. It’s working. Just a couple of tips that have worked for me. Carol from California
I'd like to know as well. It's such a process, especially figuring out how to remember where it all is...my problem.
So enjoyed going through the buttons with you and your mom! Loved the button cards.
Enjoying your video, and hear my tiny town in Florida mentioned - hello from Eustis, Florida!!
Loved this! ✂️☀️
You are so motivating. I started with everything on my floor. I either put it away or gave away. I just love your button cards. They’re beautiful. I’m going thru cabinets next.
I use 12x12 scrapbook boxes as project boxes. They stack nice and keep things contained. Hope that helps.
Yes, I have a few of those. I just picked up a couple at a thrift store, so I may use them for that!
Have you ever read the storybook, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"? that is the story of your table!! I thought of that as soon as you described the people binders. Now when it won't fit on the shelf... you will need to re-organize the shelf...and so on and so on! You are so cute, Keep up the challenge, you will be happy when it's alllllll done! Hugs, Mel
Oh my gosh, yes! And it's never-ending!
You may want to keep in mind that Betty's Creative is having her yard sale in October. You can probably box up some of your discards and have her sell it for you 👍❤️
Yes, I was there the other day talking to them about it! I don't know if I'll have time, but I'm going to try!
I thought I was the only one😂. I feel your pain and will watch your journey with a hope it will inspire me!
Hi Mary- you make me laugh. The alphabet tape was used in the classrooms. They were stuck across the tops of each individual student desk as a reference for each pupil. Thank you for the wonderful videos.
That pink pointy button is glass and even if you don’t get another button from the jar it paid for the jar. You can wash the buttons in warm soapy water but don’t let them just soak too long. The metal bar with buttons is a sweater holder. Or I guess sweater clasp. I’m jealous of the amazing buttons you picked up. ❤❤❤
Such a great haul! Wow!!🤩 Especially loved all the playing cards, the children’s books and the fabrics. I have a weakness for children’s books too and also love when they aren’t in the best condition as I then feel more comfortable cutting into them.
Mary. Dear Mary. I filled in for the people at the thrift shop who priced crafts one week and accessories another two weeks. I thought about you every time I stapled and then taped something. I stapled to deter people from opening it, then taped it to prevent the staple catching on skin, other packages, etc. and also to keep the price tag on it. Jus t sayin'... LOL I thought about you for ❤three weeks straight. 😂
lol! That's funny! Sorry to be in your head so much! I do appreciate not getting stuck with the staples though!
