The Lyell Hwy,,through the Franklin-Gordon National Park.
Lyell Hwy Tasmania.
This was an eyeopner, to drive from Queenstown to Lake St Clair. Several short walks along the road and amazing mountain peaks.
I wasn't able to identify most of the mountains in time to upload this episode but the scenery is unforgettable.
There is a different road to see the national park which I may do in a later episode, so hope you all had a happy festive season and enjoy this one .

Welcome back everyone hope you all had a nice Christmas. Around Queenstown Tasmania, this is the episode I didn't get to make last visit due to mechanical problems (radiator)so I have made up for it this time. I didn't do the train ride on the West Coast Wilderness Railway,as it was raining, but I did get it in operation leaving the station. I stayed at the famous gravel football oval campsite,...

So I've reached episode 150.I'm not sure why the thumbnail says 'premiering now' I must have accidentally touched a button when uploading. What a time it's been since I started. From Marrawah North West Tasmania, through WARATAH,Mullah,Zeehan, Strahan, then onto Queenstown. Zeehan and Strahan are new to me,as I didn't make it here last trip (radiator blew out on the white Tarago),so the furthest...

Tarkine Drive, one reason I wanted to return to Tasmania. This is my longest upload, as I wanted it contain the whole experience in one episode. Trowutta Arch has a beautiful walk down to it with the giant ferns. You'll notice I like the bridges as they give a great view, from above too. The little flying camera received a real hiding, that day ,the battery charger was on all day. One day to do t...

Stanley Tasmania, situated near the North West corner of Tasmania. A beautiful place full of colourful buildings, beaches and of course the famous 'Nut' towering over the town. Great weather to visit and a cool breeze to climb the Nut. I found out through photographs around town that a Dreamworks movie called 'The light between oceans' was filmed here with Jack Thompson ,Michael Fassbender, and ...

Welcome back to North West Tasmania. Two Capes meaning Table Cape near Wynyard and Rocky Cape National Park just up the road, incredibly beautiful and completely different to each other. Just 2 of many places I've visited so far. I have left Stanley and the 'Nut" climb for next episode, so enjoy this one thanks Bill.

Tasmania's North Coast, so much to see, not enough time and sunshine at the moment but always beautiful. A trip south to Sheffield and Mount Roland, and O'Neil Creek,Penguin, and Burnie which handles 50 % of Tasmania's freight,I have heard Penguins but can't film them yet. I found the Don Railway also neat Devonport, so much to see,so while I've been putting this episode together I have very muc...

Yes,it's on again Tasmania 2024. A two year gap and I'm ready to see more of this incredible place. I've left Victoria for the time being, but I'll be back in 9 weeks. The vlog starts in Torquay Victoria home of surfing, Bells Beach a highlight. A bit of footage on board the ferry and it's Devonport for a look around. P.s there are no paid promotions in this episode. Remembrance Day has just ha...

The Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Epic ?,Incredible?,Amazing ?,yes please to all those and more. This is a drive I have wanted to redrive for 2 years as the footage of the last trip was lost so here is ,my blog on the Great Ocean Road, and yes an epic drive has an epic running time of 37 minutes which is a long running time for me,so from Nelson in the far west right along the coast I really ho...

I know I didn't get to the Great Ocean Road this video but South Australia's south-east coast is just an eye opener. My first time along this coast ,it was a bit rushed so I will have to come back. The Big Lobster has always been a to do thing, but the towns along here are nice seaside communities. So enjoy and Victoria next episode, thanks Bill.
South Australia's Murray River

Success, I have footage of the trip down the South Australian part of the Murray River, last time the footage was lost. After a quick trip across the Nullarbor, I didn't do much filming until I got to Morgan. It's the section where the big cliffs are. The nicest stay for me was at Swan Reach, across from the cliffs, free camp too. I do mention Pelicans a bit, sorry,I was so glad to do this trip a...

1That's right, I've travelled east again, but with a sad difference, 'camping on the Nullarbor Cliffs is now prohibited '. The weather turned out to be very windy that night anyway but still. I haven't yet decided where to go, maybe Tasmania or Victoria, or even turn left at Port Augusta and go to N.T and Queensland, I will decide soon. So the Whales, yes they were at the Head of Bight and with...

Love this video, Thankyou for sharing. 🤍
Great video mate, thanks for taking the time to document and edit
Should be there for Celtic festival absolutely beautiful..
It would be good
One of your best episodes
Thanks that was a big big day. This is why I love Tasmania .Thanks Bill.
Truly amazing video, thank you so much. We are heading to Tasmania in a couple of months and your trip is helping us plan. Love watching all your travels.
Thankyou,I myself have watched others videos to get an idea. There is something new around every corner. You won't be disappointed. All the best Bill.
What a beautiful walk through the ferns that was on a rainy day!!. I stayed in a motel at Burnie & they don't stop working even through the night. the motel faced it & had no airconditioning & the room was so muggy that we had to open the double windows to get some fresh air & the noise was horrendous. The bus company changed the accommodation after that experience. The next time we went it was a much better accommodation - ground floor near a river & I should have walked over to it as it probably had platypus in it.
Well it is slowly recovering more green around the hills there. More like the earth & less like the moon scarp that it used to be. We did the boat trip & also the train trip when I visited but the carriages are all new as well as the boats as it has been 14 years now since I visited that part of Tasmania.
Hi Louise, I've been away from phone coverage didn't get anyone's comments,my first week was full of interest, since then I've visited many forest in fact the latest one Mt Field np.is full of ferns, hope you had a great New Years until next week, Bill.
@@intooz4692 Yes, Mt Field was one of the trips we did on our trips, breathtaking the day we visited as light misty rain was falling.
Tasmania is incredibly picturesque. It always amazes me how few Australians have ever done an extensive holiday in Tasmania. So many just want to jump on a plane and go overseas to be with many thousands of other tourists in dirty smog laden places when Tasmania is on our back doorstep. It is now a little over 8 years since I extensively travelled around Tasmania (it still seems like it was only in the past 12 months since I was there). Keep up the vgood work Bill
Thankyou, Tasmania so close, will surprises all the time, yep I love Tasmania, only a few weeks left. Thanks Bill
Hello there. Your photography and videos are absolutely brilliant. Thankyou so much for such entertainment
Thankyou for that comment, there is so much to film, sometimes I'll hang around waiting for sunshine if I have to.All the best Bill.
I visited the house where one of our PM was born it which was very interesting to see. Very tiny for a large family. I don't remember the buildings being painted like that in 2010 when we visited the place. Since then they now have a place you can visit to view the penguins which I would love to see.
Happy new year Bill love your work , your drone photography is awesome, Tassie is my favourite place and you are taking me places I’ve never been just love it, my daughter lived in Rosebery for 5 years and now lives in Franklin south of Hobart. I hope you stay in Tassie for some time, look forward to your videos
Hi thanks,I went through Franklin, famous for wooden boat building. I have just a few weeks lefts so making the most of it All the best Bill.
G'day Bill. Happy New Year. Wow Wow Wow, what a magnificent video, the Drone footage was superb. I've run out of superlatives. We are blessed to be able to tag along with you Bill, very grateful for the effort you put in. Magnificent. Stay safe please. Smokey
Hi Smokey thanks,I've been in the wilderness (no phone reception)so sorry for late reply.I really had fun editing this one,it was a big day too, stopping to film constantly. Well take care Smokey.Bill
Nice One! Have a Brilliant 2025!
Thankyou keep well Bill.
Love your videos and drone footage... Well appreciated from someone who has moved from NSW to Tassie... Really hope your enjoying it... (prob seeing more of it than we do)
Hi Roger is it,I love it here to see so much in a short time, and I've hardly done any hikes. Thanks for watching and comment Bill.
Happy new year’s from Canada with love
Right back at you Canada,Paul ,have a good one Bill.
Hi Bill, me and my lady hope you've had a great Christmas, and wish you a Happy New Year from WA. And Tasmania - what a great place to start the New year! Love your videos, and hope to see you on the road at some point this year :)
Thanks, safe travels so much to explore, take care Bill.
Best New Year's vision🎉 Much better than fireworks. All the best to you Bill and safe travels
Happy new year, yep those waterfalls never get old,Tasmania has so many, all the best Bill.
Well done Bill, a quality look at what is available to see and do in the region. We've been to Tassie 6 times and your channel shows us we have to return to see more.
Thanks I'm glad you find the vids useful, I did similar ie.I watched a few videos and knew I had to return, it's been well worth it,I'm still exploring, had a few weeks left.Had a safe New Year, Bill.
Thank you for sharing another great video. To see Queenstown from above was excellent. We really enjoyed our time there and your video bought back many happy memories. Look forward to your next travels. Keep safe Bill. 🚐
Hi there thanks, I made sure I got a lot of footage this time around as I knew the landscape was different here and was glad to get the train also, from above is a real eye-opener, the start of the next episode is above the lake that's just down the road from the end of this episode. Happy new year Bill.
@ Happy and safe New Year to you too Bill. 🎇🎆🎉🎉. We hope for sunny skies for you. ☀️🚐
Happy Christmas, Bill. This is hands down the best footage of Queenstown I have seen, well done. Really showing off the mountains and bizarre landscape. Hope you are enjoying this leg!
Hi Adrian, thanks I thought the landscape was so different ,the orange hills ,and the grey ,such a contrast to the rest of Tasmania. Glad you liked the footage, next time I'll take the train ride. Happy new year, Bill.
👍 Sounds great Bill 🌸
Just found your channel while researching stuff to do on a WA road trip that I'm saving money for at the moment (this area is definitely on my list). Good stuff. I will proceed to watch more of your videos straight away. 🙂👍
Hi and welcome, you will have great experiences in WA.huge state great beaches, the tall timber forests are a must and the coastline nearby is unique. Especially Greens Pool.Enjoy WA.happy new year Bill.
@@intooz4692 Thank you. It's not going to be a cheap holiday, so it'll take while to save enough money (I live in the UK, so just the plane ticket to get there will be quite expensive). But I'm sure it will be worth it. 🙂
What a fantastic effort you have put into this video. The drone shots are amazing., the views of Queenstown are so interesting. The scenery you show us by hiking up hill & down is well worth your effort. Take care.
Hi Thelma thanks,I really wanted to see as much as I could with the weather, I drove down especially to see more of this area, the next couple of episodes are on a section I've never been, so there should be nice footage, eggs Gordon/Franklin drive and Lake St Clair maybe not in the same episode as I filmed so much.Happy New Year Bill.
G'day Bill, another wonderful video, in stark contrast to the beautiful scenery previously shown, the barren hills that remain after mining ⛏️. The walk through Queenstown and the station surrounds was great, lots of old buildings. You are providing so much footage to feist on Bill, very grateful. Stay safe please. Smokey
Hi Smokey, Queenstown and it's surrounds offer a very different view of Tasmania, even humidity, I think the yellow hills used to be completely devoid of trees, when I pinched the soil after rain it was like a paste, yes mining has really changed this landscape. I'm not sure if I like seeing mountain bike tracks zig zagging down the hills but I guess it brings the business in for the place. If you drive North of Queenstown back towards Tullah it's lush rainforest. Walking through town on Sunday was good less people, glad to get the train footage maybe next time I'll ride it. Anyway Smokey thanks for your comment and have a great New Years Bill.
I love the way drones have given us amazing views of these beautiful places Thankyou bill for your amazing expertise at putting these episodes together and sharing them with complete strangers Take care and enjoy😊🌸
Hi Louise, Tasmania has been just incredible for scenery, everytime I put the drone up it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.Im toying with the idea of having an episode just with drone highlights of Tasmania, with of course the music that people like.Anyway thanks for watching and commenting ,have a safe New Years Bill.
Thankyou I wish all the best for you in the new year to come Bill 🌸
🎅
Merry Xmas and happy New year mate

Hi Bill, hope you have had a very Merry Christmas and hope you also have a safe and prosperous New Year. Keep up the great work
Hi thanks,Merry Christmas have a great week and New Years Bill
HAPPY CHRISTMAS BILL! Been real busy with work, but I have some days off. A gift to myself is going to relax in peace and watch your last seven videos! Looking forward to Tasmania, I really enjoyed your last visit. Hope you have are having a wonderful holiday and are with the ones you love. It is 11 pm here, cold with a few inches of snow. Going to watch this video next and off to sleep before Santa arrives. What did Santa pay for his sliegh? Nothing, it was on the house! What did the gingerbread man put on his bed? Cookie sheets! Getting punchy 😉 I will probably comment on your videos... Good to see you are doing well! Laura
Hi Laura Merry Christmas, great to hear from you,yes I bet your in the snow now,a white Christmas which wouldn't happen here, although I've heard somewhere in NSW they had snow, here in Tasmania it's cool compared to the rest of Australia, I have 4 weeks left here,so there will be several more episodes from Tasmania. Well have a great Christmas and New Year all the best Bill
Thank you for sharing your travels again with us. The west coast is very unique and the towns have many things to see. We are looking forward to travelling with you again soon. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Year. Travel safe and take care Bill. 🎅🏻🎄🚐
Thanks the West Coast really is a place where you feel like being in the outback, so much to see without the big crowds. However the rest of Tasmania has it too,I still have a few weeks left.Merry Christmas and happy new year to you also Bill.
Wonderful high quality video ,thanks for showing west coast of Tasmania, it was great to see Strahan, Zeehan, Rosebery
Hi thanks, those 3 places were new to me and just had to see ,and glad I did, thanks for the comment and watching Merry Christmas, Bill
G'day Bill, thanks for another wonderful video. More trips down memory lane, terrific to see it once again. Loved the drone footage, first rate as usual. Look forward to next video. All the Seasons best to you and your family Bill. Stay safe please. Smokey 😊
Hi Smokey glad you liked the drone footage, I had a massive day driving to get to the sunny locations, before the rainy days,as Queenstown did have some rain.I seem to use the music of Trevor Kowoski alot in the drone footage. He's a good composer, You too have a Merry Christmas and New Year Smokey take care Bill.
How beautiful Tasmania looks, so green.
I hoped to get to Tasmania while it's still green, although I've never been here during summer to really know if it gets dried out in summer,Merry Christmas Bill.
Thankyou for sharing 😊👌 Enjoy and be safe 🌸
Thankyou Louise, have a Happy Christmas, Bill
@intooz4692 Thankyou You also 🌸
I enjoy watching tasmania videos.55 years ago i lived at savage river . traveld that road to hobart a few times it was challenging have been back to tassy in 2001 and 2007 can not go again .i am 76 now and live in germany.these videos bring back memorys
That must have been a real adventure on the old roads, wonder if you saw any Tasmanian Tigers, some say they are still around, not too many people on the road good for me,thanks for your comment take care Bill
Thank you very much for this well made Video, as for the first time you made this trip. I saw that one just yesterday. My oldest brother lives near Smithton, but i have never visited him, as i live in Cologne, Germany. Now i can see which beautiful edge of the world he has chosen to live. It feels like a little visit.
Hi Hallo, thankyou, the North West Coast is fantastic your Brother lives in a nice place,so many things to do,I didn't film in Smithton as the were too many people around in the streets,I bet he's gone up the Nut a few times, thanks for your comment take care Bill,Danke Dir.
Some absolutely beautiful footage Bill, hope you are enjoying the Tassie trip.
Hi Adrian, thanks yes Tasmania has so much to film, just beautiful everywhere, enjoying Tassie have taken so much footage from the ground and elsewhere, glad I came back.Take care Bill.
Hey Bill! great video, your drone footage with the music is so relaxing to watch. I can't wait to get down to Tassie, the lush forests and mosses look so pretty. I think those purple flowers in the side of the road near that bridge in are foxgloves. Safe travels 😊
Hi ,thanks for the name of the flowers, since filming that I've also seen blue, and other colours together so colourful, the Moss and lycen on the trees really set it apart from other forests, sometimes you turn a corner and it looks like humans have set it up for photos, but they haven't, thanks for your comment take care Bill.
You got some exercise that day bill!😄
I really did,Tasmania tends to do that, worth doing the hikes, keeping all batteries charged is a must, the chargers were going all day.All the best Bill.
Beautiful drone photography of a magnificent part of the world, glad you are back in Tassie ,started watching you when you were in Tassie last time, and continued all through your travels, just love the way you travel.
Hi Stephen, thanks I love being here, have filled two 128gb cards already, and another for the drone, think I'll need to come back, soon trying to drive where I haven't been before, all the best Bill
Hi Bill. We enjoyed your video so much and you really have shown Tassie in all its glory. Travel safe. 🚐🚐
Hi there thankyou,so much to film, sometimes I wait out the bad weather to get sunny days,it's worth it I think, thanks Bill
G'day Bill, yeah, I'm back, found the dummy and put it back in. What a magnificent video, beautiful scenery and the drone footage as usual, top notch. I think this is your best yet Bill, and I thank you for taking us, your viewers, along for y ride. Amazing Tasmania expertly showcased. Well done Bill. Smokey
Hi Smokey how's things. The Tarkine Drive is special to me,because I saw things I've never seen before, those giant ferns etc.I just couldn't chop any footage so a 50 minute episode is the result. yes the drone really got a workout, although the hills caused an occasional loss of connection but I managed to get it back, glad your back and there's so much much to come. until next week take care Smokey. Bill
Thank you we really enjoy your video's 😊
Hi there,I'm happy you watch and enjoy,Tasmania has so many beautiful places all in a smallish Island.
awesome Video, love your Drone footage ❤
Thankyou for that, hope your well, the strong wind shakes the drone footage sometimes but that's what you try and get used to,it is so green there, glad to have filmed it before the summer. Thanks Bill
Wow amazing ❤❤❤❤
Thank you again for sharing your travels with us. Highfields House was also featured in the movie filmed in Stanley and one of the cars in the movie is in the Wynyard car museum.
