Si je veux la partiture?
Hi, thanks for your comment :) I played it by ear, I don’t have any sheet music, unfortunately.
please where did you find the notes? i MUST learn it !!!
Hi! Thanks for your comment :) I played it by ear. I don’t have any piano sheets, unfortunately.
Man thats good!!
Thank you very much! :)
Merci
Bonjour, merci pour votre commentaire! :) Je ne parle pas français, je répondrai donc en anglais si cela vous convient :) -- To create that gate effect, I have used LFO mappings to modulate particular parameters of the synth. Specifically, a sine-wave based LFO triggers filter frequency and oscillator volume of the synth. Once assigning LFO to modulate the filter frequency and volume, the main trick is to tweak the "LFO rate" itself. Decreasing the LFO rate (while LFO is doing its own work) creates that slowing stutter effect. Make sure that the tempo sync option of the LFO is disabled, so that you get a smooth descending stuttering effect. I hope that helps! :) Sorry, I couldn't reply in French.
@@errey___ thanks a lot
Hi!, could you please share how did recreate the bass sound in the synth?
Hi! :) I guess you are asking the one that starts at 0:44, am I right? If so, I have layered multiple sounds for that. There are 3 layers. One of them is a synth bass - I have used a preset from my DAW’s stock synths. The remaining two are orchestral brass stabs. The synth bass is dry (no effects). The brass stabs are packed with some reverb and slight distortion. I hope that helps. If I got your question wrong, please feel free to ask again :) Thanks!
Powerful!
Thank you so much! :)
any track like this? drop some names or playlists .-.
:) Personally, I find the tracks “Riez” and “Déclaration” similar. Those are from the same album, Multitude, as well. Unfortunately, I don’t know any playlist with similar tracks. Though if you find one, I would be happy to know :)
What's the plugin for like epiano sound and Vibraphone sound?
Thanks for your comment! I have used only one external plugin, called "AAS Masala 2", but that is just to add some texture. I made the main chordal stuff with the built-in synths that come with Reason.
I am a huge Stromae fan here, this is the first Papaoutai cover I have seen that actually resembles the original! Good work!
Me, too! :) Oh, thank you very much!!! I appreciate it :)
Beautiful job! The only thing that was missing for me personally was the beautiful piano runs up the keyboard prior to the lyric "Dans ma rue" which really set the song apart. You're a really amazing player!
Hey! Thank you very much for your kind words!!:) I have tried to remain faithful to Zaz’s version of the song. Meanwhile, apparently, I have totally forgotten the original track (Piaf’s) :D I agree, those piano runs could add a nice touch to it! :) I’ll try incorporating them in my upcoming personal practice sessions. Thanks for the idea! :)
@@errey___ Yeah both versions are great in their own ways! You're such a talented player! I dabble in piano myself, but I don't have your level of natural ease and performance. Bravo!
Exactly, both of them are beautiful! Oh, thank you so much Dylan! :) Your comments made me so happy, thanks! :)
Very impressive!
Thank you so much!! :)
brother this is amazing, how did you make the lead synth?
Hey, thanks bro! :) Unfortunately, I have lost the project file. But I can tell you what I remember about the preset. As far as I remember, I must have used the built-in synth called "Malström" in Reason. Specifically, with a single OSC assigned to "Sawtooth*16". Also, I must have tweaked the "motion" and "shift" knobs. -- If you use a different DAW or a hardware synth, you can try experimenting with Supersaw and Sawtooth-based presets. In either case, try adding some reverb and little saturation at the end.
Are you also on facebook?
Nope. Just on UA-cam, here :)
It is so relaxing
Exactly! This is my favorite song from his last album. Thank you for your comments :)
But if everybody can create this music, then everybody can be Stromae? How is it? It is ibncredible what you can create with syntetizers
Thank you for your comments :) Yeah, these tools are widely available, and they let you have a complete studio on your computer. But, at the end of the day, it is the creativity of the user (musician) that matters :) In my case, I am merely trying to recreate Stromae's songs for fun. Yet, Stromae is the one who "created" this beautiful piece of art. Without musical knowledge, creativity, and experience, these tools are useless :)
Hey man what are drums sounds i cant find them anywhere
Hey! Unfortunately, I have lost the project file :( Yet, I suppose, I must have layered multiple drum samples from Reason’s Factory Sound Bank and third-party sample packs (most likely Vengeance sample packs).

Rica ederim :)
This is incredible insane and out of this world!!!!
Ohh, thank you so much!! :) I appreciate it! :)
Beautiful cover.New suscriber
Thank you so much :) I appreciate it :)
hey, what's the effect called when the lead synthesizer starts? I mean the accumulation, or is it just some notes put behind each other tight?
Hi :) Yes, you got that right. Those are short notes played very quickly, one after the other. Note that I also modulated the pitch. As those short notes are being played, simultaneously, the pitch goes up. By the way, that was my way of doing it. There can be different approaches which could yield similar results. For instance, you can try using a gater instead of using multiple shorts notes. Or, instead of modulating the pitch, you may try tweaking the portamento and use an ascending set of notes. I hope that helps :)
eline sağlık çok iyi olmuş
Çok teşekkür ederim :)
Olease do you know the name of the instrument at the beginning of the song ? not ehru , which I know . Thank you
Hi! I have used “plucked synth” sounds for that (virtual instruments, created by software). I don’t think it belongs to a particular real acoustic instrument. However, Stromae might have layered separate instruments (both acoustic and electronic) to get that sound. If you’re looking for real acoustic instruments that sound similar, you can look for the “mallet” family of instruments (e.g. Bamblong, kalimba etc.). Hope that this helps! :)
@@errey___ I dont understand much about electronical music. But ehru is ehru. Beautifil what you have done . So, also the instrument at the beginning must have a name . Thank you .
@@mariacapoferri2718 Thank you, too :) I'm sorry, my previous answer wasn't quite clear. I meant to say that I don't think it is a real instrument. I feel like it was created by virtual instruments (software) and, for that reason, it doesn't have a particular name. That's just my feeling, though. I might be wrong :)
Amazing bro
Thank you bro! :)
Saranno state almeno mille volte che abbiamo giocato a nascondno Oh dove sei, Papà dove sei? Saremo ammirabili? Avremo giocato a nascondino almeno mille volte
what drums did you use for this ??
Most of them are stock drum samples from Reason. As far as I remember, only for the bass drum, I used a 3rd party sample pack (ModernBeats demo sample pack).
VERY NICE ... GOOD SONG
Thank you! :)
Déboîte. Wow
Thanks for your comment :)
what VST did you use to make those chords, I can't seem to replicate that sound
Hey, thanks for your comment! I have mostly used the stock sounds from “Reason 10”. The names of those presets are “Sine Pluck -SP”, “Wide Xylo” and “Bamblong Natural”. Additionally, I have used one preset from a 3rd-party plugin, "AAS Masala 2". The name of the preset is “Jawa”.
Bro, whats lead sound? serum, sylenth?
Hey! As far as I remember, I have used “Maelström”, which is one of the stock synth devices in Reason :)
WoW!!!!
Thanks! :)
incredible work !!
Thank you! :)
Thanks! :) Most probably, I will not remake Sante. It features real instruments which are challenging for me to recreate in my DAW. Yeah, I was surprised when I heard that Stromae didn’t produce it. :)
By the way, you can find the official stems of “Sante”, “L’enfer” and “Fils de Joie” on the official website of Stromae, in case you haven’t seen them. I thought that you would be interested. :)
@@errey___ Merci !
Thank you! :) Yes, you got that right. I used an LFO to trigger the overall output level and cutoff frequency of the synth. This setting provides basic stuttering/gating whenever I hold some note. To make it sound “drrr”, I automated the LFO rate. The LFO rate has a large value at the beginning. Towards the end, it has a much smaller value. The transition from faster to slower LFO signal yields that “drrr” sound. Also, make sure that the “tempo sync” feature of the LFO is disabled.
Thank you !!!
You are Artist ✨✨
Thank you! :)
Hi. Thank you so much! :) You are right. That “A” does not quite fit there. When I tried using a “G” as you suggested, it sounds more accurate. Plus, as you already mentioned, your suggested chord makes more sense from music theory perspective. It has more tension, and provides a better transition back to the first chord of the scale. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! :)
Thank you !
:)
Thank you so much! :) I have never tried remaking the entire song, but I remember working on the main synth. Below, I share some tips that may help you get started. Note that I use Reason as my main DAW, and the following instructions are only applicable for Reason users: - Load a brass or string instrument (could be anything from the Factory Sound Bank), - Insert a “Scream4” underneath your previously loaded instrument, - Customize that Scream4 as follows: *** Right click and choose “Init Device”, *** Disable the “Damage” section, *** Enable the “Body” section, *** Set Body “Type” to “B” (this does the trick) *** Experiment with “Reso” and “Scale” knobs as you like. Note that I am not quite sure about using brass or strings instruments. You may wish to try loading different instruments in the first step. Scream4 with Body Type B does the actual trick. Hope that helps! :)
@@errey___ merci ! Ça ressemble en effet !
What is the synth lead ? It’s perfect
Thanks :) I suppose it is a custom "Maelström" patch, with oscillators set to "Sawtooth*16". I am not quite sure since the project file is lost.
Ton clavier est Akai LPK 25 est vraiment dédicacé ? Ce n’est quand-même le sien si ?! Comment tu as réussi ?
I attended one of his concerts in 2012. Before the concert, I had the opportunity to meet his manager there. He helped me get into the backstage after the concert. I met Paul and got my keyboard signed! :) By the way, I had to reply in English as I don’t speak French. Sorry for that! :)
You are lucky !
if you did not translate, he wrote “Thank you boy”
@@titifarci4187 Thank you for the translation. Yes, I am so lucky to have seen him in person! :)
Thank you! :) I have layered several synth plucks for the main chords. Regarding the transitions you mentioned, I have used an external VST plugin (AAS Journeys) and added intermediate notes. I don’t remember the name of the preset, but I can look it up if you’re interested. By the way, I tried to get that transition effect using an “additional” synth layer. However, in the original track, that sound could be part of the main pluck itself, I presume. To me, it sounds like it is triggered by some filter envelope or something like that. I’m just making a guess though. :) Hope that helps! :)
Thank you ! :) What synth plucks did you use ? I saw the plug-in Klang of Reason for the Bamblong
@@titifarci4187 No problem :) I have used three presets from Reason 10 default sound bank: * Sine Pluck -SP, * Wide Xylo, * Bamblong Natural -- you got that right :) and one preset from "AAS Masala 2" (3rd-party plugin): * Jawa
💃🕺🤩 so good
Thanks! :)
Hi my friend ! I'm happy to see you doing Stromae's music again. I don't know if you remember me, we exchanged "Silence" samples and Reason files on Stromae. By the way, why did you delete your old videos? Happy to see you again
Hi! Thank you so much my friend. I am so pleased that you still remember me! :) I guess, I recall exchanging Reason files of "Silence". Is it possible that you had a different profile picture (or username) back then? I usually recognize people by their profile picture and username as a pair :)
Well, as I progressed more and more over time, I started finding those old remakes cheap (in terms of overall quality, sound design, mixing etc.). One day, I deleted them all except "Papaoutai". I regret it now... Thank you for your interest and your warm welcome, my friend! :)
@@errey___ Yes, I had another UA-cam channel where I reproduced the music of Stromae which I had deleted a few years ago. We talked about the tom drums of the "Silence" music. I remember you did other Stromae music on Reason. You have reproduced this music from his 2 albums. It was a long time ago ! (My old channel name was supposed to be "Mister Edwyn", this was in the early 2010s).
Oh no ! I found them wonderful ! Don't keep any on your computer ? Very happy to have spoken to you !
@@edwyncht Oh okay, that makes sense. It's been so long that I can barely remember. Yes, you're right. Unlike me, you seem to remember every little detail! :)
Woow This is very beautiful my friend! 👏🏼You did an awesome job 😊 (I covered this too btw) 😄
Thank you my friend! :)
Excellent work yo🎶🎶🤩
Thank you! :)
Yeahhh nice! Seems like you share a name with a popular artist 😄
:) Thanks JeiShian
If I remember well, something like 5 years ago you recreated a lot of old Stromae songs from Cheese. Even If I never dared to Ask you why, I Always wondered why did you deleted them all ? You even met him with Dimitri (still if I remember well !) Anyway you were a huge inspiration for me, and you helped me a lot to recreate Stromae's instrumental so I really loved your Channel :)
You remember correctly :) I used to remake his songs, especially the ones from Cheese. The reason I deleted them was because I found my previous work to be of poor quality. As I progressed more and more, through the years, I started finding mistakes here and there in my old remakes. One day I deleted them all but this video. I regret that (though it is too late now). Thanks for your lovely comment, it made me sooo happy! :) I am delighted to hear that I have inspired you! Thanks a lot for remembering (even after years) and stopping by to comment here :)

I have lost the project file unfortunately :/ Yet, in my sample collection, I was able to locate an old "bounce" of the lead synth. It might be different than the one in the video but here is the link anyway: drive.google.com/file/d/18_BqCEOBe-WHvnho3jyMYtZMTbYmXhID/view?usp=sharing
