Is there a way to make disappear the original? I often print one half of a body, then I wanted to print the other, mirrored half. In this case there would be no need of the original. I'd like to vanish the original for exporting the mirrored part only

In Version 0.21.2, when I insert a very simple image, it seems to show in an environment of its own. The X&Y axis lines and positional icons disappear. Then, when I try to use the rectangle feature (or line, or circle), I get the "Access Violation" message and a report on the left side of the screen. I am beginning to wonder if the folks who programmed FreeCAD had ever seen any of the common CAD programs prior to setting out the program structure. I've spent a staggering amount of time learning little to nothing useful. It's frustrating because I see projects that have been produced by other folks and am very impressed. It's just that little or nothing that I have learned while using five other CAD packages over the past nearly forty years seems to apply to FreeCAD. Anyone.... please give me a hint as to what is happening with my inserted image view.

Working in the Part Design with pads and pockets on elements hiding and unhiding seems to be unpredictable. I click on a sketch in the model tree view and press the space bar and the sketch disappears. But the attributes like pad and pocket remain. If I click on the pad or pocket and press the spacebar, everything disappears on the whole model, leaving only sketches (line art) and the one thing I wanted to disappear. So far, I've found that hiding and unhiding in FreeCAD is an almost worthless feature the way it works. I found your video by searching for help on this topic.

How do we do this but keeping both bodies still visible? In fusion 360 you would use the 'Combine' feature and you would select 'Keep Tools'. How do we do this in FreeCAD?

you didnt show how you switched on the xy and yz axis planes. I dont understand you people and demos where you spend so much time showing the same things over and over and when its what is crytical you just clcik somewhere and dont even say how you did it? What if you want to center the vertical line on the X axis (red horizontal axis on the video)? I don't want to move it to the origin. I'm trying it as follows: 1. Press "Constraint Symetrical" 2. Click both points of the line 3. Finally click the red axis But it is not doing anything. The constraint is shown, but the line isn't moved. What am I doing wrong?

Can you make an STL into a sketch? Once I make the mesh to a solid, then refine the image, I end up with a nice solid, but I can't figure out how to make it so that I can constraint the lines to add the dimensions and end up with a working sketch. This way I can put the dimensions into a spreadsheet and make the part parametric. Can you help?
