Bathroom Extractor Fan install using rigid plastic duct

In this video I show how I installed a 100 cfm bathroom extractor fan using 4" PVC rigid duct. I chose rigid PVC duct as it has a smooth interior surface unlike the regular flexible ducts. Saved me from buying another 😂😮💨
@@FormulaDrifter23 nice. Happy that the vid saved you some cash !
Clear and helpful, thank you.
Omg!! Thank you so much for this instructional video. I have a couple records I got as gifts and could not listen to until I fixed my turntable.
Was setting mine up for the first time today. First time i've ever set one up - instructions weren't super clear but your video really helped me 3 years after you posted it. Thanks!
Thanks mate!!!
You just solved my headache in a minute. Thanks
It was super easy to fix my LP thanks to this video, I really appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!

I was so annoyed when I bought my new turntable and it wasn't working right. This video helped me fix it. And trust me, I am NOT at all handy or intuitive with machinery lol
i did this but the belt doesnt fix in the place.
It's your lower sprayer arm. They separate on the side causing them to shoot spray sideways under the door.
You rock Men. Thanks
Sooooo helpful
@@PivotPixie thanks
Thank you so much ❤ worked for me
@@raremelanin6868 you're welcome! 👍
From a dad to another one thank you!! This was super helpful I was having some invites and they want it to see the turntable working sooooo thanks it worked
Would this work on plastic chrome window trim? For very fine scratches?
@@nickstein1965 hey. I think it's probably too aggressive for plastic type trim. I suggest doing an internet search to find an alternative that is a bit less aggressive. Perhaps more of a polish for car bodywork but go easy at first. My current favorite for bodywork is Hybrid Solutions Pro 1 and Done Precision Platelet. You can be more or less aggressive with that product by varying the pressure you apply. Try something like that and start by hand applying light pressure. Hope this helps
Nuct. Take a guess what that means.
Thanks this was very useful
Thank you for the video. I have 3 sinks with these drains. It was a flip from the previous owner. I’m replacing the faucets. They break every time I clean the bathroom.
Great video, you disassembling the stopper showed me that the metal key wasn’t catching on the spring and let me put it back into place. Thank you!!
After searching tutorials for several hours i FINALLY found your vid! Thank you for sharing the knowledge from your experience. Very thorough and is precisely what i was searching for rather than all them replacement tutorials. Once again thank you good sir. Well wishes for you and yours
Thank you my record player spins again but the arm wont drop any idea ?
@@jasonb2240 hello. Assuming you have the same model as me. First press the down button on the front right of the deck if you haven't done so already. Assuming you did that, then the mechanism may need resetting. While it is up in the air you can try gently pushing the arm into the center of the turntable until you hear a click and then the arm should return automatically to the rest position. If that doesn't do it, something may be stuck inside the deck. That's a bit more involved....
Thank you! Your tip saved my turntable 😊 I'm now listening music again 🎉
Thank you! Will try first!
@@nancyj9881 👍 good luck!
Just received one in the post and thought I’d check UA-cam before sending an angry email - thank you for saving my face!
I was about to buy a new one! It has to be this because I go month with no leaks. You saved the day!
Thanks for your video. I had the hinge jam like you! What brand range is yours? Mine is NXR - about 11 yrs old - the hinges look identical to yours. I was able to get the door to open without bending the door (I hope!) But it does look like the plate over the hinge bent a little. I ordered new hinges. Fingers crossed they arrive as NXR parts are hard to find. I'll bend the plate straight when I install the new hinges. Hoping it all works out! Anyway, this really helped me understand the jam and how the hinges operate. Appreciate your thorough and easy to follow approach!
@@MCRinOC yes mine is also an NXR. Had it 4-5 years. One of my stainless steel plates covering the hinge slot did move and partly jam a door one time. I was able to flatten it and it's been fine since. Just be sure to lube the hinges every so often and if the door begins to stick at all when opening, be sure to lube it well. Good luck
@@dadlifediydoityourselflike2293 Thanks. I was able to obtain the hinges and install them. A giant pain in the butt! They looked well greased when I received them. I don't ever want to take them off again so if I start having trouble, I'll probably use the "spray in" lube method. A tip for anyone with an older NXR range - To reinstall the oven door, you have to push back on the hinge ALL THE WAY and tuck the locking clip inside the slot. Initially, I was only using the locking clip with the hinge pushed down half way. Every time I tried to install the door the hinges weren't sliding into the slots easily and the clips would pop off so the hinge spring would snap back to the closed position.
Thank you so much for this information. I will try this first before I purchase anything.
@@AudiA3Guy 👍. Good luck
Cinch Traps work the best. I have killed 50 gophers with those and only 1 with the gopherhawk.
Oh my goodness thank you so much!!!
you fixed my issue but man you could have made this a 2 minute video
i just moved and when it got the record player out of the box nothing worked. than you for the video mate.
Thank you for the fix , its worth a try before spending any money . Clear voice and advice.
Just to add to this nice video that the first 10 feet from the fan to the outside should be straight. As possible
Hey, I got it to work. Thank you so much.
@@mlfitness67 awesome. Happy it worked out in the end !

@@gregbgregb8487 thanks. Yes - this was not my issue but another person also commented that it was their problem. Thanks for the input
How did those brackets work out I was thinking about getting them but I was worried 1 screw in the wall could cause it to rotate and the rail move randomly
@@davidcervantes8738 they worked out very well in fact. Once the bracket is screwed to the underside of the rail it doesn't rotate. The fact it can rotate around the one screw allows you to easily set the angle of the rail during the install. I was happy with them. It's important to get that one screw firmly into a stud
Thank you your video helps a lot! :)
thank you! ❤
You just saved me from buying a new turntable. Cheers!

@@hiero365 haha. Thanks. If the problem ever comes back check out the part 2 follow-up video and the comments sections.
thank you dad life
Hi, thanks, great video. So when you filled it in, did you put some gravel on top of crate too or just soil?
@@WideAwake50Hi. I put about an inch or two of gravel on top. Then soil. The gravel depth/thickness is more important on the sides and underneath obviously.
Oh my god you are a LIFE SAVER!!! Thank you so soooo much
thank you so much!! i was worried i had to ship it for repairs.
I've dug a hole 3 feet deep and 3 feet wide and filled it with gravel and the underground pipes will carry washing machine waste into the hole in the ground. I am not using crates. How does my approach sound? I imagine I might be able to use crates later at some point.
@@vin.handle thanks for the comment. This sounds like it should be fine for a smallish household. The main aspect of any soak away is obviously the volume & surface area of the pit v the volume of waste water, the type of soil and location of the pit. My crate system is probably of similar size to yours and seems to cope with front loader high efficiency machine washing for 2-3 adults. My soil drains quite well and is on a slope. I would think a higher load on the system like washing for a family with young children might require something a bit bigger. That's just my 2 cents based on what I installed. I don't claim to be an expert on this ! I recommend checking it occasionally after a series of washes or heavy use just to be sure it's not seeping to the surface or looking waterlogged. Pretty soon you'll be confident in how it's performing. Good luck
@@dadlifediydoityourselflike2293 Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. Another idea that I've never heard commented on is amending the soil at the bottom of the hole. I've drilled a series of 12 inch holes at he bottom of th e hole and added constructon grade sand that I work into the soil to further add drainage. We'll see how that works also.
Little me thought it was broken, i payed money for new belt and stuff thinking that's the problem, and then it still wasn't working, until i see this and remind myself where the fuckin belt goes. Oh my God.
Thank u soooooooo much!!!! That worked!!!!
THBSKS SO MUCH
Please explain to me how the gopher is putting dirt on the gopher hawk and not triggering the trap. I dont get what you're saying and the gophers are killing my backyard!!!!!!!!!
@@bobbyhunt3009 Hi. Disclaimer (!) I'm not a trained wildlife expert 🙂 but as far as I can deduce it seems that in the side tunnels if they see any disturbed soil they will turn their back end towards it and then kick the soil backwards to block up the tunnel. This will fill the trap with soil and sometimes trigger it. However if you've managed to locate the main run they will usually be running along back and forth and you have a better chance of catching them. The main runs are like their highways and the side tunnels are the side streets that usually dead end wherever they were feeding. I still find it tricky to locate the main runs after 4 years and 20 or 30 gophers caught. Also I find it harder to locate the main run on a slope or hill v a flat piece of ground. I have 2 gopher hawks now and typically set both at slightly different locations. Hope this helps!? Watch as many videos as you can as everyone has their little tips. And good luck. I feel your pain - believe me I've been there. Don't give up. The one thing about those critters is that they are consistent. They're not very smart but they are sensitive to light etc so try to cover any gaps around your gopher hawk to block light from entering the tunnel
