Is globalizaion inevitable for companies?
Warren Buffett said repeatedly (look for his talk given to students at the Terry school of Business in 2001), "Discount future cash against present value" / aka intrinsic value is simply the present value of all future cash flows an asset will generate (no matter if it's an apartment building or company). Sounds A LOT like a DCF model to me ... weird headline for this video.
Yes, but... the DCF should be so blatantly simple that you should be able to do it in your hard. Monish Pabrai talks about how Buffet valued coke on youtube - worth a watch if interested. Generally, if the company's worth is either undervalued or overvalued depending on the selection of the revenue growth rate, terminal value growth rate, and/or the discount rate then you are not doing it the Buffet way. If a company is selling for a cheap multiple ( say <4x FCF in an industry that usually sells for 10x FCF), operates in a growing market, has a long runway, has loyal customers who will be here in 10-20+ years, and has strong financial fundamentals - then you don't need to run a DCF. You have just proven the business is cheap (4x FCF implies all invested capital could be returned to investors in 4 years), is relatively cheap (other market comps trade for much more), is strong (good customer base), and will last (loyal customers + market runway).
This guy loves the sound of his own voice
Sometimes wasting ur life is better than being important ❤❤🎉🎉
No one giveva shid, model wtf just buy and get dis shid pompin
This is the exact question that I’ve wanted to ask him for decades. Thank you for posting it and thank you to Berkshire for recording all of these meetings.
🙏🙏
What makes the tech industry so difficult to invest in is that a product can be perfectly good but completely fail because it doesn’t get adopted. Being a good product doesn’t matter when demand is often very irrational and unfair.
Fascinating i made 3369 in one how come haha is god true woohoo
I am making it on my own no company so boring truth is at times when u look around
The diff between u and wealth managers they help u live monthly and not create wealth like u❤❤🎉🎉
Incredible to see him so casually warn about something that would turn into such a catastrophe over a decade later. He's always had his eye on the ball
So, Buffett is warning in 1995 about derivatives that ended up causing the financial crisis in 2008.
If any of u plan to take a professor role i will surely wont attend your classes i sleep well❤❤🎉🎉
Now THAT is the wrong kind of mindset. If you have enough capital, as long as you hold on a safe and adequate amount. You should risk the other portion into tech, with proper research of course.
Im a zero sum game the more I teach u the less u know❤❤😂😂

It’s called insider trading it’s really cool. It’s where you get selected by the cia via nepotism, then they give you phone calls in advance of big political moves. Then you profit. Only, they expect you to back their degenerate global schemes with your newfound money.
U only. compromise u dont sacrifice thats why u don't move u use
Im busy warren thks u have a life
And the man worked through the rest of his life at Berkshire until he died. RIP!
Just that? Cost of hedging is high therefore no hedge. What about the cost of not hedging?i really didn't hear him mentioning that part
There was no efficient way to hedge from currencies, but from 01/09/2009 there is now
