#17 - Grazing Cattle in Forests Improves the Health of Land, Plant and Animals
At Ozark Akrez, the cows' surprising preference for walnut trees over lush grass prompted a shift from rotational grazing to pasture and forest grazing. The cows now graze on a diverse variety of forages, which has led to a healthier ecosystem This symbiotic relationship supports the well-being of the animals-and humans-who depend on them. Join us to discover how observing your land and animals - and GRAZING AGAINST THE MACHINE - can transform your farm or ranch.

How much of a plant's nutrition is from eating/farming bacteria by rhizophagy compared to diffusion from the soil water solution?

It could be a very significant fraction if a sterile plant dies, but one with microbes thrives.

One thing I think is being over looked is the soil balance of all nutrients. Some are needed in small amounts and others in larger amounts. Focus on feeding the biology so that they thrive and not survive and the soil is more productive. One nutrient that was being harvested by the plants from the air is Sulfur and now that level has been reduced and the Sulfur in the soils are now reduced thus leaving the biology short as they need it for their own structure, immunity, etc. Look at feeding the soil biology minerals like sulfur, boron, etc that are low and the biology will respond. Healthy biology will produce a healthier crop. When you can eliminate the chemicals the soil biology will improve and become healthier.

I am 63. I have a degree in Horticulture. When we took soils science at the university of Georgia. We had the Brady soil science text book. I think it had maybe 3 pages on soil microorganisms. The only thing that was known was the bacteria that helps legumes make nitrogen. No one could give any answer how a forrest that had no "known" nitrogen fixers were so green. I am really glad y'all are getting around to looking at this. Modern agriculture is so destructive and expensive and honestly really stupid! Hope we can change.....

You state that: "algae cells stimulate and increase microbial populations." I completely agree with this. But there is a problem: in a closed container, chlorella cells die very quickly due to the fact that they cannot breathe. And I had a question: were all scientific studies carried out on living chlorella cells or on a liquid containing dead cell remains? Or does it matter whether chlorella is alive or dead, the effect will be the same?
