Hi friends! In this video, I'll guide you through the process of creating a colour-coded highlighting system. I really wish I had known how to do this earlier, it will make my life so much easier organising my annotations and notes and so on. but I really hope you find this video helpful!!

I had been concerned about the compatibility of plugins, but I finally updated Zotero from 6 to 7. Zotero-style is my favorite plugin too, but I wasn't aware of the feature you explained. Thank you for sharing such a cool tip! I was able to complete that setting quickly.

How do you deal with the aspect of these plugins needing an update now and again? Do you have to annually update the plugins?
Hi, great questions! I haven't updated any of my plugins since I installed them, and they work perfectly for me. Unless the plugins are getting glitchy or not working at all, or it has some innovative features that I am eager to adopt, I am happy to stay with how it is. Hope this answers your questions :)
@@angieginger Have you used one that can provide the ability to give me the ability to annotated PDFs? some PDFs won't able annotatable... PDF expert can provide this solution for this problem but I don't know if Zotero or yourself know of being able to read PDFs so that PDFs can be annotated.
@@LK-cy5xe Hi, I did have trouble annotating PDFs with old articles in the early 1900s. For those articles, I use an app called Goodnotes on my iPad to annotate.

Sorry mate, I'm not sure about that. Try restarting the software or updating it to the latest version, and see if the problem can be solved.
@@angieginger I have the same issue with release 1.0.4. However, all you do is make a "New Workspace Note" and it does the same thing

Hi, thanks for all your great videos! "Habits make people" is true, I think too. I agree that visualization of screen time is a very good way to reduce it. For me, time tracking was also good method to improve efficiency of my working. How about you? Are you studying Japanese? Good luck! Mine is to try to speak English fluently first and foremost. Hi, thank you for your comment! I totally agree with you - good habits are indeed important in shaping our identity and becoming who we want to be. I would look into my screen time report and track which apps I spent most of my time on. It is shocking to see how much time I spent on social media platforms before. So, nowadays, whenever I want to scroll on social media, I force myself to use the app to learn Japanese, and it works! It is my 32nd day learning Japanese, yay! Tiny improvements have remarkable results - James Clear Keep up the excellent work. ☺

I accidentally deleted the user guide for the workflow of betternotes after installing it :( Idk what to do or how to get it back (the little sidebar that you showed which tells you how to use it)

Ok nice video, but this have tooo much friction. I personaly do Zotero-Obsidian cos of ZK method but if u want to se ideal workflow check Citavi reference menager I think u would like it. Btw nice trip to Japan :D

I can't install Zotcards :( The plugin is only supported for zotero 7 and for windows the lastest is zotero 6 at the moment.
@@joaoaguilar3022 Hi! I find that zotcards are good for in-depth reading, and taking notes on individual papers, whereas betternotes are good for collecting notes from a corpus of literature.

Thank you so much for your kind words😊 Short answer: YES!!! Not every state in Australia has 711. I visited one in Melbourne CBD a long time ago; it was very small and didn't have many selections for food. They mainly sell pies, sausage rolls, coffee, drinks, and lollies. I love Asian food!!! Convenience stores in Japan are definitely more exciting for me.

Dear @@angieginger I'm struggling to find a good way to do notes from not-pdf material (books and articles on paper) because I'm dealing with non-digital stuff. How to use better note extension in the workflow? I hope you will consider to do a small video about it :)
Hi @@freddodentro, please take a look at this website www.zotero.org/support/adding_items_to_zotero, which shows the various ways of adding items to Zotero. From my understanding, Zotero only supports digital files, pdf preferred. In your case, I would suggest using ebooks or scanning papers into a digital format to create notes or annotations if you want to use this app. I hope this answers your question.
