Hi. My name is Zeeshan Mushtaq, and I am from Kashmir valley. Since 2018, I've been exploring the mountains surrounding Kashmir, and I intend to keep doing so. I'll be sharing my adventures through short videos, as well as information regarding the mountains and places I explore.
I like doing climbing and other adventurous pursuits in alongside exploring the outdoors. My hiking routes are going to accessible for free on all digital maps and can be downloaded.

The Kazim Ridge Traverse | Alpine Climbing in Thajiwas Range | Sonamarg
I’ve been dreaming of traversing the Kazim Pahlian Ridge in Thjaiwas for years. Since my first glimpse of alpine ridgeline in 2021, I’ve been captivated by its rugged beauty and challenging terrain. This year, I finally had the opportunity to make my dream a reality.
The ridgeline, stretching East to West forming the western wall of Glacier 3, offers a unique alpine traverse. It’s a mix of scrambling, rock climbing, and traversing narrow ridges. While Jackson’s solo ascent in 1945 is legendary, the rock quality has undoubtedly changed over the years. After experiencing the terrain firsthand, I can say that it’s a much more demanding challenge today. Unfortunately, our attempt to traverse the entire ridgeline was cut short due to deteriorating rock conditions and the high risk of rockfall. This impromptu plan served as a valuable reconnaissance mission for a future attempt.
Amrit led all three pitches, rigged the system and providing a valuable learning opportunity for all of us. The technical nature of the climb, combined with the exposure and unpredictable weather conditions, made it a demanding but incredibly rewarding experience. The deteriorating rock conditions highlighted the importance of thorough route research and planning.
One of the fascinating aspects of this expedition was the opportunity to re recognize many of the peaks on this ridgeline. While the names given by early explorers may not be entirely accurate, it’s important to acknowledge their contributions to our understanding of this region.

Just before Ramdhan, in the first week of the march, me and Mohsin went again for ice climbing and end the 2024 season. The main objective was to climb the 42m route to the top and in a single pitch but unfortunately it didn't went as planned. I get to experience the things which surely are going to be game changer in my climbing journey. Looking forward for the next season and I am hopeful tha...
Ice Climbing Tramkazan Falls, Pahalgam. WI3 | First Pitch

The 42-meter, two-pitch Tramakazan Waterfall route has not yet been fully climbed by anyone because ice climbing is not very common in Kashmir. I managed to set up an anchor at 30 meters above the surface (first pitch) by scrambling around. At the moment, I had just two screws, therefore I was unable to lead the route. I practiced the route a few times after setting a TR, and my friends also we...
