I'm a junior high science teacher in Arlington, Texas. The Weather Channel was an inspiration for me to go back to school and get my meteorology degree. Tornadoes interest me the most, by far. Whilst cleaning, I found a box of old VHS tapes I had recorded about weather over the years - mostly local and from The Weather Channel. I decided to share some of them in case they interested anyone. Thanks for watching!
*The following has nothing to do with weather, but who cares.
How 'bout them Cowboys!
And…the Arlington Renegades, too! 2023 XFL Champions! And last, but certainly not least...
LET'S GO RANGERS!!! 2023 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!! I've followed that team for over two decades, and I really didn't think I'd live to see them finally win it.

Storm Stories: "Katrina Students" - The Weather Channel
Thank you guys so much for the 700+ subs! I'm happy that people like the videos I found. In this episode, two girls in 12th grade talk about their lives after being displaced from their homes by Hurricane Katrina.
On a personal note, I taught high school in Arlington, TX during this time, and I got a lot of students who evacuated from New Orleans. What they went through was unfathomable to me. Those were some of the strongest kids I've ever met. Even though I couldn't bring back the family members they lost and the lives they used to have, I did what I could to make sure they felt like they mattered and belonged.

There were a total of ten tornadoes on this day, but the Downtown Ft. Worth and South Arlington/Grand Prairie ones were rated as F3, so they're the focus here. This video is local live news coverage as both tornadoes were happening and their aftermath. Most of the coverage is from NBC5, but there's also some from WFAA and CBS11. I remember that year. But. I remember on may 3 1999. I was 8 year old and I watched the tornado hit Moore Oklahoma and it was so sad
Tornado season 🌪️🚗🚨
I wonder if grandma Frances is still alive 20 years after this
Well, no big 📢⚠️📻🖥🚨 to get everyone's attention from the sky, for goodness sake 😂😂😂
11:21 for the tornado part
Um 📢 ⚠️⚠️ for tornado and flooding area!!!!
well we used to have a big and scary tornado in tulsa years months and days
I feel bad for the blind lady. Could you imagine?? Being blind and have a huge a** tornadoe🌪 come hit ur house. Praying for that lady. 🙏🏼
Hey!!! You can't cannot outride it. it's so dangerous to try it 😢😢
I live in [[BURNSVILLE]]
How was this just an EF2?
I was a 14 day old baby when the tornado touchdown in fact i was living near the montgomery street when the tornado moved thru west 7th into the heart of the city good thing i survived with my mother siblings along with my godmother my father was at work but he was in shelter thank God we all survived no injuries but 5 lives gone during this tradgedy 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
I got teary eyed when Keith was saying he was sucked out from the overpass and was in the tornado and when the young mother was blown away. Rest In Peace to all that died.
When I was 13 in 1995 I remembered it was said that overpasses was safe during a tornado, but the 1999 May 3rd tornado proved that wrong.
The anniversary of this tornado just passed can't believe it's been 25 years since this event
I actually filmed those folks being lifted off that destroyed pier. For God sakes just get out of the path of these storms when warned. Crystal Beach (Bolivar) peninsula was a death trap. Many people are still "missing" to this day. This Cat 2 storm had a long fetch and gigantic core wind field... Produced a storm surge equivalent to that produced by a cat 5 storm.
That tornado hit three freeway overpasses and killed people sheltering there in all three. That myth that bridges provide shelter must end!
This tornado was unlike any other I have ever seen on the news. What a scary day that was!!
What month was this tornado
Hey cids i gotra few eppz up do share em around so otjers cN see em will y i got six from tjdnext cjapter
200 mph F3? Isn’t that F5?

MAY 3RD 1999: BRIDGE CREEK/MOORE OKLAHOMA F-5 TORNADO 🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪 Here’s the wording from World Famous Meteorologist Gary England concerning the infamous May 3rd 1999 F-5 Tornado 🌪 to hit Bridge Creek and the city of Moore Oklahoma: Folks you will not survive above ground! You must be in your tornado shelter or get out of the way!!! Again! You will not survive above ground! You must be in your tornado shelter or get out of the way. This is a TORNADO 🌪 EMERGENCY 🆘 🚨 FOR THE CITY OF MOORE!! 14 years later it still applies! I truly believe that God allowed Satan to bring the Bridge Creek/Moore Tornado 🌪🌪🌪 to fruition except saving a baby 👶🏻 girl in Bridge Creek named Aleah Crago…10 months old and Jennifer Briles baby 👶🏻 girl Marissa Briles who was 5 days old GOD would not allow Satan to take her! But he allowed the Prince of the Air to take the rest! So in Oklahoma City Oklahoma there is a city south of the city that has been hit by 5 F-5 Tornadoes 🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪 since 1999. It's as if a Tornado 🌪 had a mouth a nose and eyes and you asked it: Have you created enough trauma and destruction for these people? And the Tornado 🌪 says: NO I WANT MOORE!!! The name of the city hit by 5 F-5's since 1999.
MAY 3RD 1999 and MAY 20TH 2013 F5 TORNADOES 🌪 IN MOORE OKLAHOMA 1999 REGISTERED 318 MPH: THE HIGHEST WIND SPEED EVER RECORDED ON PLANET EARTH 🌎 2013 F5-210 MPH. MAY 31ST 2013 F5-NEAR 300MPH IN EL RENO OKLAHOMA. If I lived in Oklahoma in particular and definitely in the town of El Reno and Moore…I would absolutely have a shelter built into the ground about 15-20ft deep minimum!!! 🌪🌪🌪😵💫😵💫😵💫😬😬😬🤐🤐🤐😳😳😳😵😵😵
My cousins grandparents took a series of photographs of the Roanoke tornado from their farmhouse a few miles away. They got the rotating wall cloud and going all through the mature stage. We have them somewhere but I don’t know where they are.
I'm actually watching this on the 20th anniversary of the tornado!
Heard it too many times "never thought it would or could happen here."
People are stupid.
I truly believe that God allowed Satan to bring the Bridge Creek/Moore Tornado 🌪🌪🌪 to fruition except saving a baby 👶🏻 girl in Bridge Creek named Aleah Crago…10 months old and Jennifer Briles baby 👶🏻 girl Marissa Briles who was 5 days old GOD would not allow Satan to take them! But he allowed the Prince of the Air to take the rest!
This tornado is so underrated. Did you hear them? 260 mph winds in the tornado but some famous ones only have winds up to 190. I wish storm chasers actually talked more about this tornado and the 1978 one in bossier south of Benton.
I lived in Arlington during this storm but was too young to remember it. My dad was driving home at the time, and noticed it was very windy out when he stopped to get gas. When he got home, he found my mom sheltered in our bathroom with my sibling and me. Apparently he was very nonchallant about the whole thing, calling the tornado "that little wind." We moved to Maryland less than a year after this storm. Even tho I don't remember this storm, I did later get to see exactly how nonchallant my dad is about tornados a few weeks ago when there was a major tornado outbreak here in Maryland. My dad drove home from work right thru the path of the most powerful cell, passing right in front of it as it produced a tornado. My mother and I called him multiple times that night to make sure he was ok, and he was really way too calm about the situation. He got home safe thankfully.
As anyone seen a ef 5 tornado 🌪️ before I’m just wondering 💭 ok 👌
The news people should give Gary England a award for saving so many people from may 3,1999 tornado 🌪. In 2013 the same tornado hit Moore ok and the same tornado 🌪 killed 24 people and so many people were injured 😢
At 9:53 you until that the building on the left of the screen was f***** up
Have always heard about these guys, thank you for posting
How strong was this thing? The only estimate is 261-318 mph.
Thanks for posting this. I wish TWC still aired this.
No matter where You are at in the world there’s always some kind of danger. Doesn’t matter where you pick your battle. If mother nature wants to put you through something she will.
These people had good luck in this circumstance.
You tell ‘em kiddo! Show that tornado who’s boss!
This reminds me of the horrific wildfires in 2018, 2020 and 2021. All 3 seasons combined tragically killed 142 people. 106 of those fatalities came from the 2018 season alone.
I stayed home alone with my sister for short periods of time since I was 11. It simply wasn’t a problem. But I never would have been a left alone with a tornado warning in place and NEVER would have been told OR told my children that “it won’t come here” unless it was three states away.
Stupidest statement I’ve ever heard regarding a tornado, “It won’t come here.”
MAN is not in control! When are people going to get that through their heads? There is no climate control.....it's all God. Some unbelievers will ask "Then why does God kill people". He doesn't. Ones that are believers get eternal life and those that are wicked, get eternal damnation. You really wanna keep rolling the dice?
I remeber Ike. I live up in Northern Indiana and the remnants stalled over us. Flooded everything.
The nickname for the f5 that hit bridge creek and Moore was A9
People use the word "luck" too loosely. The one lady knew exactly what saved them.
Yeah, Chicago to this day makes sure to clear the snow from the streets...but how about they put some effort into the poop, hypodermic needles, and dead bodies... could they work on that? 😂
you’re weird
The background music is ridiculous! Ok, so you all live in an area that is prone to 🌪️ and hurricanes…AND YOU LIVE IN MOBILE HOME?! WHY? Makes no sense
Pat ferguson passed away about 5 years ago RIP
