The Florida Department of transportation began building a new bridge on May 1, 2023. It is expected to be completed the late 2027 estimated cost of $111,500,000. 85 feet tall high level fixed bridge that will go over Florida East Coast railroad , old Dixie Highway , and the intercostal waterway.
