I collect and rebuild brass impact sprinklers as well as pop-up impact rotors.
Buckner Commercial Pop Up Impact Sprinkler Rotor
I'm not sure of the model number since the internal assembly is not original to this case. It uses a 7/32" nozzle.

This newer version of the 27 uses the new style PJ arm casting compared to the old ones in the green case (hence the "A" revision of the model no. ). The internal assembly has been cleaned and rebuilt with somewhat newer bearing washers.

perfet sprinkler at night
I believe this may be a 17091 or a 17081. There was some for sale on eBay a long time ago I seen for over 150$+. These are comparable to the RB 37 and 47.
I think the 17091 was the brass case so maybe the 17081
Nice!!!
Where is this magical place ?
Nice bit fat nozzle in that! 👌👌
Nice!! I had a dozen or so with Zinc heads inside but they had the PJ arm instead of the spoon. It’s cool to see more sprinkler videos like this pop up on UA-cam over the last few years.
this had a zinc head originally but i changed it out
Beautiful
wow nice
Very nice 27 with the RC lid. It runs well! Have you seen the Buckner 10791? It's supposed to be Buckner's version of the 47.. Theres also one that is supposed to be a version of the 27/37 but I cannot think of the model #, Maybe a 17801. or something. Thanks for sharing! This weekend I am going to be running my Rainbird 100B, I don't know if you've seen it, but its a 3" full circle 3 nozzle impact. It has a 7/16" drive and i think a .69" or similar rear range nozzle with range tube. The pipe it is connected to was on a gun stand and I was not able to get it off (It's siezed on and not budging). So i had the cut pipe threaded and a coupler installed and the drive nozzle installed in it the right way (was sticking out and not letting the drive arm move). I'll keep you informed.
I haven't seen the 10791 or the smaller versions, it seems the commercial buckner pop ups with PJ arms are hard to find. It would be cool to find one though! Looking forward to your video of the 100B
I've been looking for one of these lately.
Nice RB 27! It looks good installed in the ground! Love these old commercial RB rotors. Wish they still made them.
Amazing but it's so low. I could never get away with that. 4 inch pop up is the minimum.
Since I don’t have a pump, this would run perfectly
I’d love to buy one of these
That also does a great job in keeping the splash from the PJ arm in line with the stream. Thats something most impacts (zinc mostly, etc) have trouble doing. I have a few chinese made models that are like a PJ spoon. It shoots it off to the side but not as much as a spoon drive. I miss the PJ tubes in the old rainbird and Nelson models.
Nice Thompson! I used to have a few of these back in the day. Didn't Sears Craftsman have one similar to this as well? I remember the concealed spring.
yeah i think thompson made them private label for craftsman.
Back in my day, we used to install these rangers. They were a great little impact sprinkler!. They have great steady movement with excellent coverage! Thanks for sharing!
Love these Rangers from Thompson with the adjustable tension. I even like how the cover for that mechanism looks like a flat tin hat. This one looks like it’s in particularly great shape. Great video. Thanks for sharing it!
Nice video! I did not know that Buckner made these in plastic. It runs great!
I recognize the sprinkler head and am wondering if it is plastic or brass or something else. It does not return as fast as I might have expected it, but it might be the heavy pressure. Thank you for sharing it. Never saw anything like this model before.
I remember these. This one is in amazing shape. Great video!
Nice Buckner! I didn't even know they made plastic head popups. It runs well too! Is that a PJ tube arm?
thanks! and yes it has a PJ arm which works pretty well. It even has a brass spindle and bearing seat
Looks good. Love that rubber ring they put around the lip of the case on the rubber cover version.
Nice 27A-RC. I don't think I've seen a lot with the rubber cover, either the AP or cast iron models. It runs well too! I like these, they're workhorses and will last quite awhile if serviced reguarly.
Where did you find this have been searching online for the series
i got this one from FB marketplace. was NOS but the case has a small crack. The only info online about bucker rotors can be found on their old website via internet archive
Nice find.... Those are a great head, I had installed quite a few of them around 1980, but I have never seen one with a Black case... very cool! thanks for sharing!
Very nice, slower mover and makes me wonder if the bearing is on the tight side or that is a normal movement for that sprinkler. Thank you for sharing your video.
Very cool version of the 27!
The 37 is one of my favorite rotors. This guy’s had some use and still runs great. Thanks for sharing it.
Weather Tec sprinklers are great. I know there are different models and it kind of surprises me this seems different than maybe what I am used to, but it still runs very well. I enjoy watching them and I guess part of the enjoyment that is missing for me when they are in the pop up housing. Thank you for sharing your video.
It is an interesting commercial sprinkler. It is amazing the differences between commercial and consumer models both in design and the way they work. The heads are obviously different too. I am not used to seeing the slower performance of the commercial models, but I also think the water pressure has a little to do with it.
I have a handful of these and a few have that extra band on the middle rib.
Nice 37! I have one as well i need to dig out and run off my pump. I got mine long ago, I'm not sure of the nozzle though. Mine came in the green case as well! Mine would only run when i doubled up the sources though. One single hose source wasn't enough to pop it up.
Nice 27! Runs well! I have the same but in a black case. I think mine is plastic. Love these old commercial rotors too! They're tanks and last forever!
Yep they don't make stuff like this anymore
Great find! Weather Tec rotors you just don’t see around very often.
One thing for sure the Rain Bird models are smooth running and it is evident here too. Thank you for sharing it.
I find it interesting that these commercial models are so much slower than the residential models for the same kind of work. It does throw a long distant stream.
Yeah i've noticed this too, I think it's because there's more tension on the bearing from the stronger bearing spring. The larger rotors with a heavier lever arm seem to rotate a bit faster.
This one looks good, too.
Very nice WM K60F. it runs well!. I recently picked up a Buckner/Royal Coach 10010. It's supposed to be like the RB 15106. NOS from the dealer.
Nice those are cool! looking forward to seeing a video of it
I don’t run into many Weathermatic rotor videos. This one is in great shape. Great video!
That WeatherTec rotor runs beautifully, and it’s really stable on your tripod. The video captures its operation really well.
Thanks, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Nice 35-20! I used to do this when I was young. I'd buy a RB 20, and a trip assembly and collars and convert it into a 25. I enjoyed taking the impact apart to install the trip collars on the bearing assembly, and the pin to hold the trip assembly on. The True Value where i live sold parts for their brass Rainbird Sprinklers. So whenever I could i'd ride my bike to the store and buy the needed parts to convert a 20 to a 25. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah it is kinda fun to work on them. When I worked at a hardware store a few years ago we still had a box of impact parts but one of the guys there ended up just throwing it away. People just don't fix things anymore.
Nice 31! I had a 51 i got years ago in the green case, a pipe was stuck on it and while trying to remove it, it busted the case. I was sad! This runs very well on your setup!
10092, Are these Buckner's versions of the Rainbird 51? They run very well! they have a lot of pressure going to them!
someone with a catalog could tell you for sure, but yeah it does seems similar to the 51
A good question for Bill!
Nice video!
