My Ramblings and other Animals
Приєднався 16 чер 2020
Based in the Rhondda Valley.. I have now entered my 2nd childhood (aka 50’s) and I’m a lover of healthy eating (mostly), nature, hiking, running and van life!
Up Nant-y-Moel in my Vivobarefoot in the Snow! #barefootshoes #vivobarefoot
I'm currently trying to cure my Plantar Fasciitis and I.m opting for wearing barefoot shoes exclusively.
This is my first long hike in @vivobarefootTV Primus Trail II.
All went really well and although my feet were fatigued I had no flare up of the plantar fasciitis during the hike or the following day!

It's my 52nd Birthday and we've taken a few days to escape to Pembrokeshire in the van and hike some more of the Welsh Coastal Path. #vanlife #wales #hiking This is most definately one of the most beautiful parts of this path! Excuse the spelling mistake... My Birthday Tea was at The Ship Inn, not the Sip Inn! Check out my Instagram Account to keep up to date on all my adventures and misadventu...

Huge congrats!! Can I ask, did you wear trail shoes or road shoes? I’m running it this year and a lot of the route from Barry onwards seems to be on the road!
@@Beezyboo23 Thank you! Yeah, the stretch through Barry is on pavements and then it’s back on trail. It’s quite pebbly around Sully and could be muddy. You’re back on pavements once you reach Penarth. I always wore Altra Olympus Trail for everything (I’m now moving over to minimalist trail shoes), so I didn’t have to make a choice. If you were having to choose one shoe throughout I would choose trail as it is predominantly trail. Just ensure you’re comfortable in your trail shoes on pavement both running and walking! All the best and I hope you have weather like I did!
@@myramblingsandotheranimals7402 Sthat is so helpful thank you! I loved your video and I’ve been slowly working through your recce videos which I’m going to do myself too! I’m mostly worried I’m going to get lost or miss sections! 😂 Well done again!!
@ There’ll be a GPX to download and if you recce the route that’ll really help break it down into small sections. I watched all my recce videos for a refresh the day before. The only bit I got lost on was at The Knap, so I definitely recommend a recce on that section and if you’re not familiar with the part through Barry and the Docks then check that out too. Also the section up from Penarth Pier! The rest is pretty straightforward and signposted.
Hello from France! I discovered the channel with this video! Very nice channel with lots of very pleasant videos to watch, we have a good time! One more subscriber in solidarity between hikers and UA-camrs, Laurent.🙂
@@MarcheNco-randos Thank you so much and welcome!

Good vibes on this one guys. Full enjoyable view while sorting out maps as it happens. St Davids Head was super nice - secluded and pretty. Lovely lunch spot - best table around. Well, what a light-filled end to the day. Good going. Mark

A nice steady stroll on top there guys. Beautiful and still conditions. I imagine that set your day up. Have a great week ahead. Mark
@@WyeExplorer It was absolutely perfect conditions and due to the incorrect weather forecasting we almost had the mountain all to ourselves which is unheard of! Thanks for watching 😃
@@myramblingsandotheranimals7402 Hey, inaccurate forecast and the mountain to yourself - a bonus. A pleasure.
Great video!
@@stigfloberghagenphotography Thank you! ❤️

If beer is 8 pound a pint all I can say is they have more money than sense even the caravan weekend rates are extortionate but then it is only once a year
8 pound a pint no thanks
You don’t have to drink beer or anything to go into the venues and enjoy the atmosphere! 😃
My name is Sian parry and me and. My sister came to it aver here but we were disappointed that the Wales assembly wouldn't open up the middle street for us to walk on the road for us to take a photo of us on the elves weakened on the road we were not very happy with it as they olls closed the sea front for us to have photo on the way😮😅

Fantastic hike guys, views are great on this trail! Great work!!
@@ervinslens Thank you so much! Yeah the views are stunning and we timed it so well with the weather. So spoilt by the quality of the paths that see you over the boggy areas too! Loved it and it’s definitely given me the backpacking bug!

These buildings are from the 2nd world War period and were used for the construction of ammunition and bombs. My now deceased mother and her best friend (from Rhonda and Maesteg) used to work in these making the munitions for the war. they developed lung disease from working with the explosives. Never compensated by the MOD. Thus the railway track is present at one of the entrances for moving the munitions out when completed. Any nuclear bunker component came after this.
Thanks so much for the info and so sorry to hear your Mum was made ill from working here. The chap in the video’s Nan worked on the munitions in Treforest and also developed lung problems from it.
wow, impressive pictures of the sea. We were at this 1. spot with the ruins around May. Video follows 😉. Happy belated birthday 🎂. Thanks for taking us with you, we love your country and your coasts, you had a great time😀. Cheers, Jules and Ulli 🤗🌈
Thank you! 💕 The Pembrokeshire coast is pretty special eh? Just a shame that they charge so much for parking. This trip we did manage to find a few freebies though!
