Yeah they get you with this $65 per month an it blows! Its so bad downloading games it stops an start stop an starts, it fucking blows! My neighbor said he had the highest “ service “ offered an it still blows! The weird part the CEO’s house is 4 houses away from me i could drive my Polaris to his house, an it’s awfully big wonder where he gets all that money to pay for his massive house! Pretty sure he doesn’t have CenturyLink pretty sure he has a COX line! It sucks man I called them an they hassle me saying its my fault, but if i want to shell out another $150 that they would fix it right away! F*CK OFF! Not only that but Cox is 1/2 mile away an they said we can’t get you a line unless you pay $30k to have a line installed out to your area! Out here its Cox is fast, Centurylink is slow af an shit customer support!

It sometimes may depend on your location. But where i live. The highest speed i have ever gotten in the past 4 years of being a centruy link owner. Was 5 mega bytes. Even tho my plan is 100 mega bytes

As someone who lives in Mesa az CenturyLink sucks its worst than McDonalds wifi at night you can get slow but the highest speeds and CenturyLink customers support TOOK 3 DAYS to fix the wifi because it went out for three days and all they told us to do is unplug it and replug it even tho we did and they wanted US to fix the issue with there trash wifi they told us to many connections even tho it was just a ps4 a pc a TV and like a phone or 2 it took 3 hours to download a 4gb game on my pc with no on on the wifi and UA-cam defaults to 144p

Search the internet for "CenturyLink won't stop billing me". We cancelled last October and they still bill me. I refuse to pay ever. A relative quit several YEARS ago and is still being billed even after many phone calls and registered letters. I just filed a complaint with the state attorney general. CenturyLink is set up so you can never cancel the service. The agents seem to be motivated to ignore requests to cancel, so you can call them 100 times and your account won't be turned off. There's even stories of people who never even signed up for the service and started getting bills! If you tried to get internet and they don't show up, thank God for that blessing! If you are a customer, RECORD ALL PHONE CALLS with them because that is the only evidence you will have. When you call to cancel, they do not send a verification email. They will provide a verification number, but if you call back, they will claim there's no such number in their system.

They definitely throttle after heavy usage. Paid for the "UNLIMITED" plan.... downloaded a ton of games yesterday, speed was just fine (well for CL it was "normal", it sucked compared to actual GOOD internet like FIOS or Fiber...) Woke up this morning and can barely load a web page. Worse than dial up speeds. They do this every time there is a day of heavy usage at my house. Fucking scumbags. I hope this garbage company gets competition that they can't compete against and fails HARD. We need to get Wall St. Bets on Reddit to team up and bury CenturyLink stock like they are making GME rise. I would LOVE to see that!

Absurd honestly. Twenty gigabytes take one day? I have the same company and I get scammed $85 for 1.5 Mbps. Those twenty gigabytes take 40 hours to download. Every gigabyte for me takes two hours. Just dumb, yet smart tactics.

Dude this might help you out call and complain and get new wiring if you have to cut the wiring in the house just get the wiring the wires wear out through time so newer the wiring the faster the speeds

I have a same exact problem. I know its speed depends on number of internet users sharing the line but it fluctuate so much! It is so frustrating especially now that the whole household uses internet constantly it is really disruptive. It goes down to .09 mbps then to maybe 3, 4 mbps and stay that low for quite awhile. I called few times just to ask if there is anything I can do to make it little better. But every time they tell me "we did internet test and it seems fine. Upgrade your internet to double the speed." Ahhhh! I am fine with the current 40mpbs if it can even stay above 10mbps! And there is not even a guarantee that it will be more consistent.
