Oh great, so when these guys play it, it's ok. But when I play this as part of a standards list it's all "Oh shuddup grand pa."
These youngsters are very good, I like the composition and playing. Apropos the saxophonist's introduction, it is very unfortunate that in 2019 75% of the new music being released is being heard through a streaming service: it is being given away with almost no return to the artists, is this sustainable?
Hi Lean McHungry - love the name. I'm the saxophonist in the video, and no, for musicians like me this model is not sustainable at all! I think the end result is that more and more listeners have their music discoveries largely dictated by streaming service algorithms. It also means that pursuing a career in music is becoming less accessible to people without independent wealth behind them. Attending live gigs is still a great way to support local music though, and a lot of artists still withhold some of their recordings from streaming services for fans who are willing to pay for good music!
