DéJà Vu North West '24 (Sligo DeJaVu) a personal memory - Vyger
DéJà Vu North West '24 was a fabulous event with impeccable organization and planning competitors come to expect. I'm sure all those who took part and watched the event from the roadsides in fabulous weather would like to thank the teams of people involved. RPM Deja Vu Motorsport worked in conjunction with Connacht Motor Club (Sligo) to plan and execute a great event and thanks also needs to go to the possibly hundreds of marshals working as volunteers for the fund-raising event.
Gene McDonald and Daire Maguire sadly lost their lives on the Sligo Stages event in July 2023. All proceeds from the Sligo DéJà Vu event go the McDonald and Maguire families.
The video is my personal memory of the event and I do hope you enjoy it as I did compiling it. I also hope, if you were taking part, your car features somewhere in the footage.

The last of 3 or possibly 4 giant trees closely related to the American Giant Sequoia. There were 3 or 4 of these trees on the Old Manse Road outside the site of the Whiteabbey Girls Training School. Donegal Déjà Vu Rally 2019 Ramelton Stage In Car (DeJaVu)

A quick run through the traditional Donegal International Rally stage of Ramelton, Donegal. In the '70 and '80 the little streets of Ramelton echoed to the sound of Rally cars so it was so nice to cover those streets again now. Belfast Bangor & Newtownards Motor Club Rally School

Back in the day we were privileged to enjoy road rallying in Northern Ireland on open roads. The Belfast Bangor & Newtownards Motor Club and other motor clubs ran annual Rally Schools to introduce new comers to navigating, timing and the rules surrounding the sport. This video was produced to help support that learning by presenting as close to possible real time experiences and eventualities.

Why in the h3ll someone would think it's ok to plant a potential 115m tree in front of a house is beyond me...oh wait British, that explains it. You can still see the tree on google earth though number 14 I believe.
I think the house came after the tree. Still a shame to remove such a monster.
And there was no trace of the tree left. Well done.

I was told it was not a sequoia, I'm certainly no expert but Sequoia Heights was named after these trees, and perhaps wrongly.
Was the tree rotten or dangerous for the residents? sad to see something unique like that get removed.
I'm not aware of the reasoning, I know there were a few other treee safety issues within the past several months, one involving the Air Ambulance.
@@GenealogySoftware damn that a good way to inplicit that there was danger while still knowing that there wasnt at all because it was a different tree, different town, different planet.
to answer your question: there was no rot in the trunk and no major dead branches. EVERYTHING that should have been done here is a "a slight cut off the top" as one would say to a hairstylist. This tree was in his major
Probably charged 50 grand or more to remove.
