I made my living raising cats & dogs for 30 years. i believe that if you put a water dish or some kind of water source where your cats can readily get to it, and quit syringe feeding it to them, they will start drinking on their own. If the cat was licking the window, he knows it's water. It's the same principle as making a baby sleep in its own bed. It will cry & cry, & you must ignore it, until it stops crying & knows it has to sleep there now. The cats will cry, but they are not stupid. They know they need water & if you don't feed it to them, I"ll bet they will start drinking on their own.
