From the album 'Rosemary Lane', Bert said of this piece - "I'll probably have to re-learn this one back from the record." Not an easy play but worth the effort, so many features of Bert's original contrapuntal style while at the same time taking the influence of early music of the Elizabethan era like John Dowland's lute works.
I first heard it in the late 70s and have been playing my version of it ever since. Jon Riley's revised transcription from Doug Kennedy's songbook of Bert works, now out of print, is excellent and appears in vol.2 of Bert Transcribed, well worth seeking out. DdV
