Paddy Lay Back and Muscles in the Corner
This is the one.
I think you did pretty good on that one
rare talent. RIP
Rest in Peace Justin
This is the correct way to play this song on guitar. The only one I can find on UA-cam. However I wish you have a guitar lesson to go with it. I’m about to trow my guitar at the tv 😂
Thanks for the compliment. The tuning is DADGAD if that helps! From there just use the standard chords with that tuning and some walk downs.
Excellent version.Terrific voice.Are using DAdgad?.Cheers Jim
Thanks so much. And yes, this is DADGAD

The timbre of your voice in this one is amazing! Good ol' bathroom acoustics!

Nice clean tone on that guitar! Great cover.
The pub workers kind of refer to the army ranks from lowest to highest. 1. Landlord-Private 2. Landlady-Corporal 3. Daughter-Sergeant 4. Brewer-Shavetail/Lieutenant 5. Drayer-Captain 6. Slavey-Colonel 7. Company-General
Very nice

Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to listen. It is, indeed, one amazing song!!
Hi Justin I just want you to know how much i enjoyed listening to your version of "The King of White Otter Lake". I wrote the song in 1970, and recorded it in 1975. It's amazing to me how long it has lasted over the years. Thanks for choosing to include it in your repertoire. - Bill Houston.
Bill, thanks for the kind words. It means a lot coming from you! I hope I did it justice and I am so glad that you enjoyed it.
Loved it. My favourite part was about no where to drive. The whole thing was spot on and the vocals was amazing.
Thanks man!!

No matter how old you get, this song always brings back memories. You all did a great job 👏👏👏
Amazing job Justin. Its one of my all time favorites 👏👏
You did an amazing job, so many memories written into a song that bring me back too when I was a kid. Thank you so much for sharing this Merry Christmas to you and yours and all the best in the New Year🥂🍾
Love it! Thank you Justin for writing & recording this for our viewing & listening pleasure! I love the scenes. Your voice is lovely. I appreciate the turkey left overs lines. I would pick up my Son from MUN; By Wednesday, he would say "what are we having tonight Mom, turkey what?"
Thanks Marie! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to write something about what I, and may others, remember about growing up out home, and what Christmas was all about.
Very good version of this awesome song! Can I have the chords? :)
Hi Nancy! Thanks for the comment. It's actually a DADGAD tuning, but standard chords would be D, Bm, G, A (with rundowns)
Use a capo with standard tuning on the 3rd fret play B A G B A // D C# B G / D C# B A / G B D / G D B A G for this version (roughly, may be some minor discrepancies). Put capo on 4th fret for Daoiri Farrell's version (the one I use), and 2nd fret for Andy Irvine's, (no idea about Paddy Tunney's version). That's a rough explanation as the B's and A's are not true chords just bass notes on the D shape. Play with it and make it your own. The C# is a passing note too. All notes are relative to the capo btw. This way actually works, at least for me.
Also want to add this is a great version. New fan here. I also play this tune and really like this rendition.
great song Justin~
Great tune and great job! Cheers
Very nice Justin!
