First video in a series showing changes to the former Birmingham Wheels site over the next few years as it is transformed into the Birmingham Sports Quarter, hosting the new stadium for Birmingham City FC. The plan is to run the same flight as regularly as changes happen to see the differences.

I hope this never happens Not because i give any kind of damn about football but i was both a spectactor and worked at 2 of the businesses on site so have lost work because of it as well as a fun way to spend Saturday evenings The council threw us off the land because they made up some bullhockey about rent arrears, a situation they fabricated to null and void the 101 year contract we had with them. Then when that was fought suddenly there was Japanese knotweed on the land and we had to close immediately Then suddenly we had to vacate because there was an urgent need for industrial warehouses so levelling up money was applied for and received to turn the site into warehouses. Now Birmingham city want the land and it's handed over to them, for a much cheaper amount than was already on the table from a motorsport businessman A serious journalist needs to look into this properly What happened to the japanese knotweed? Is it not invasive in football stadiums? Perhaps more importantly, what happened to the levelling up money that was applied for solely on the provision the site would be warehouses? Who has kept that and why because there won't be warehouses now? Finally it is actually possible to keep some of the racing facilities, the city plans leave the raceway and kart track free, why not keep them as revenue generators? The big question is why was the council so determined to close this place way before the football team thought about moving? We'll see if it ever happens but what has happened already is so not right!

Thanks.... i tried using a ND1000 filter and a really slow shutter speed, and a 3 second gap between shots.... i think it has come out a lot smoother than without those settings

I think i went a bit too far out from about 35 seconds in where those buildings are. Will tweak the flight a bit for the next one to get closer in
You got it bang on at 35 seconds because that's one part of the site that already has approval for demolition, and you captured it fantastically. I have a drone too but looks like you've beaten me to it :D
@@Stephen-IYB Ah, sorry, i mean the bit jsut after... those buidlings where the DPD truck is (44 seconds) ? Thats just outside the border isnt it? If youre local, hopefully you can get down there more often than me, its an hour and a half drive away for me, so dont know how often i can go. I ran it as a waypoint mission, so tweaked it a bit, and if i got it right, will jsut keep running the same mission so we can see the changes :-) Exciting times though

48 acres of wheels but as announced at the open house it's 60 acres plus st Andrews so will be a massive development when the sites cleared

Yeah, im hoping to. Its about a 90 minute drive for me, but now im not going every other weekend for the footy, I should be able to get down and see whats going on.
