Even though this carousel is Poorly Matained it is still awesome. The carousel also is here once a year so I had to take alot of videos of it Moving today. Unfortunately the guy who operates the carousel is telling me what to do for no reason. Boooooooo!!!!!

There really is no comparison. The 1911 Looff carousel was the height of the old craftsmanship of builders and carousel carvers!!! Most of these newer carousels are fibreglass and machine cut. I'll take the Looff SCBB carousel or the 1905 Charles Looff (Leroy King) carousel in San Francisco any day of the week over these newer fabricated carousels!!!!! 👍🎠🎠🎠

I think it's from a wurlitzer 165 on how it sounds. Also i've never seen a triangle on that ruth and sohn and I also been questioned about why this is a ruth and sohn not a stinson
there is no triangle on the ruth. there was from the 50's to the 2000's because it used to operate on 165 rolls for a time. it has a stinson facade because the original gavioli facade went missing in the 50's when it got converted to 165 rolls.
it additionally had castanets and (lesser known) a wood block. Also from the 50s up until 2007 when it was sent away for refurb. Honestly the Organ's new facade could've been more Ruth-like but the stinson's facade is the closest we'll get to a Ruth face. The Clink you hear now is from small bells that come from the moving figurines.
Ok, I never knew that it had a gavoli facade and I kinda regret about the triangle because I thought the ding sound coming from the organ was a triangle but it turned out to be the figureines ringing the bells. I only remember seeing the two Wurlitzer organs In the carousel.
@@ramonlepana4360 the organ although built in 1894, wasnt given a facade till 1911. You see. Looff bought the organs and he’d carve is own facade on them. But for some reason, this 1 of 2 existing 38B Ruths came with a gavioli face. It would get lost somehow tho
