Hmm, I myself dont find it that annoying, what I do is I place a couple of stone bricks at the borders of the evil biomes as soon as i can after spawning in. It makes the evil biome spread not be as dangerous above in hardmode, which is the part you usually want to keep purified.

"Hey enjoying your beautiful world and don't want it to be taken over by a evil purple virus, well then buy this thing called the clentaminkanator for 3 billion gold and enjoy playing our take on power wash simulator"

its not that hard to deal with the biome spread. A bit Tedious sure but it's not THAT bad. Though too be fair I don't play the game a ton, and the times I've actively dealt with it were never a chore that could just be me.

My take: Biome spread does not have any good solutions. It's either big hole or clentaminator. And that just makes it annoying since you're honna have to spend a lot of money and time just to prevent your world from going extinct. And besides, the mechanic forces a lot of players to act fast and not enjoy what they want to do in the game after entering hardmode just to contain the plague.

I agree. I like to play at my own pace, and the ticking time bomb that Biome Spread is to your world has discouraged me from playing hardmode quite a lot. Some say that biome spread is easy to deal with, and it sure is when you also place full wood blocks when climbing, and don't care about how your world looks at all. Like, making holes using dynamite is going to be expensive, time consuming, and make the minimap look strange. The clentaminator is, as mentioned, expensive to use, and getting every nook and cranny is gonna be as tedious as the single other method. Even if you prepared while the spread was slow, the big V is gonna delete that progress once you enter hardmode. This mechanic definitely needs a toggle and some tweaks.

I wouldn't mind biome spread if doesn't affected pylons but bcs you need to walk to the pylon to fix it is so annoying that I just ignore not having a pylon in the area

I don't have a big problem with biome spread, but that v/x shape evil-hallow that appears after entering the hardmode on the other hand...

I feel like the sudden Crimson and Hallow spread right after you beat WOF shouldnt be able to touch a set area with pylons You PHYSICALLY Can't do anything about it until you beat one of them mech bosses, so you have to either rush beating one or build a new house and pylon system until you can fix the previous one.

I'm led to believe that to this day, crimson biome remains underrated in the evil biome preference, especially when 99% of terraria youtubers still overlook the crimson biome. This is why Isahooten is the only truly BASED terraria youtuber because he's the only terraria youtuber that is a certified Crimson enjoyer 😎(come back isahooten)

Dude, i have a few thousand hours in the game across multiple platforms over the last 7 or so years. And biom spread has never been a major problem that created an annoying road block. I dont see what your going on about mate

Biome spread straight up made me stop playing the game for a year cause of how stressed I was over it. Finally finished that run after a year thankfully. now I just put on the begone evil mod tbh.

BegoneEvil is basically the only Quality of Cheating type mod that I use purely because I dislike biome spread, I managed to cut out every other quality of cheating mod I used to use except for this one

dude, you're being insensitive. if they don't do that, their balls get crushed. try putting yourself in their shoes.

sorry, but this is purely a skill issue. instead of tediously digging a trench, just throw a few bombs in a straight line, it only takes one or two minutes at most to make a massive trench which will prevent biome spread to your pylons. even if you decide to dig it out by hand, once you enter hardmode it shouldn't take long until you have an adamantite or titanium pickaxe - even without rushing the game, no boss kill required - and its super fast at digging with a mining potion, chisel and food buff. buying the clentaminator also doesn't take long if you just kill a boss like the destroyer or eye of cthulu a few times and sell off the loot. you don't need to be a speedrunner or tryhard to fend it off from afflicting most of the world or even just your builds.

This is the most real terraria youtube video I have ever seen. You got a sub just for it. The only thing that I would mention is the world generation problem with evil biomes. What I mean is that upon creating a new world, the evil biome can just spawn right by your spawn, and if you get into hardmode, your spawn will become corrupted. Also it's a very big disadvantage at the start of the game because it means you literally cannot explore the side the evil biome is on. My question is: Why the fuck would they do something like this? I wish they added a mechanic that evil biomes can't spawn near the spawn, only near the oceans etc. I'm so tired of making multiple worlds for my new playthrough to get a perfect seed. Only me?

Back in 1.1 where there was genuinely nothing to do after beating the mech bosses, the threat of the corruption and controlling it was actually somewhat compelling. Now that the game goes far beyond that with new bosses and content, it’s kind of an annoying side thing you just place a few blocks, dig a few holes, and use a clentaminator to stop.
