The Number: Measuring Coffee's Investment Gap
Hello, excuse me, can i get more information about the varieties: Col 1-4, Kartila 1, EC 14-16, S4808, BP432 A, and AB3? i can´t find them on the Arabica´s varieties catalog, thanks!
May I know the rooting hormone used in the video?
it is very important issue for farmers who have in divergence to produce coffee or other high value crop like khat or horticultural crops in their farms in Ethiopia
thanks dear
Thank you very much for this amazing talk! As a phD candidate in plant pathology, I'm overjoyed to have found this great lession!
Thanks for the informative presentation. Will cryo-preservation of pollens be useful? If so then, how long? Many thanks..
Very great job are you managing. Best wishes and good luck
One of the key for the future of coffee cultivation are the wild and cultivated genetic diversity of coffee , which have a huge potential (cf as recent work in the DRCONGO is highlighting) but thes GRs are poorly conserved and under pressure due to climat change, déforestation etc. A global effort to conserve these genetic resources is urgently needed, the countries of orgin have to be actively involved in these conservation programs. The global coffee market needs always to look to the impact of there actions for the farmers, we need to help the farmers with mitigation and adaptation. However agriculture needs rather local adaptations to local problems than a global solutions.
...One of the principal objectives sought should be the improvement of the coffee producer's return on investment.
In addition to agricultural innovation, how the coffee business is structured in each producing country as well as how is the tax legislation is affecting the coffee business. One of the principal objectives
Eloquently presented with indepth technical insights

Nice presentation. How long do you store pollen? and where do you store it?
Amazing work! Want more views? -> p̶r̶o̶m̶o̶s̶m̶!
Cupping scores are very low - i'm guessing overall processing practice were poor. The lack of standardised practices within the project seems to have unfortunately very much limited its value.
Hi there! Anything scored above 80 points on the SCA cupping scale qualifies as "specialty grade." All 10 varieties included in our initial data were scored above this threshold. In addition, it is helpful to keep in mind that these results only include data from our 2021 cupping evaluation, as our 2022 experiment is currently underway. You can view a summary of the results here: worldcoffeeresearch.org/news/2022/imlvt-global-results
@@worldcoffeeresearch6528 the highest cup score was 81.5 - this would be unacceptable to specialty buyers (unless they were paying commodity prices). Was an optimal processing method standardised across all sites? This would be the only valid way to evaluate quality.
@@FarmPro_Peter what are you talking about. Above 80 is a specialty coffee and is priced as such. Barely passing is still passing
Please identify the varieties as hybrid or pure line selection.
Hi there! You can view the full list of the 31 varieties included in the trial (and their origins) in addition to other results on our website: worldcoffeeresearch.org/news/2022/imlvt-global-results
Can we store pollen for long or do we have to do whole process on same day? If we can store how can we store it.
good job!
Love
This is an important discussion as you noted in other commodities - for example Hemp.
We work pollinating coffee fields in Brazil, improving productivity and quality in a sustainable way and reducing the carbon footprint per ton of coffee harvested. How can we get in touch with World Coffee Research to present our work?
Coffee rust is a threat for the coffee grain production worldwide. On the other hand, coffee rust is a disease interesting to study since different views point, many researchers have tried and they will continue to try to understand this disease to find a solution.
